CNN's chief national correspondent, John King, has a way to go before marrying his co-worker and sweetheart, congressional correspondent Dana Bash. The Irish Catholic is converting to Judaism before their May wedding, which will help mollify Bash's rabbi father.

UPDATE: CNN has notified us that King's conversion to Judaism is not, in fact, at the behest of Dana Bash's father — and that, in fact, Bash's father is a journalist, not a rabbi, as Page Six reports.

this is an embarrassment -- that such bigotry still exists. why cannot two peoplel just lead their own lives wihout being criticissd. The anti-Semitic postings here are disgraceful. I really had hoped all Americans had gotten past such stupidity and bias.

Is he going to stop believing in Jesus as the Messiah and Eternally-begotten Son of God and Savior of the world?

Or did he never take that stuff seriously in the first place, and remained a Catholic only because his neurons were imprinted with superstition when he was young?

JK is another member of The New Castrati. All this just because his fiancee wants him circumcised.

I like Jews but I hate CNN because of their bias against Edwards and Obama. That network is called Clinton News Network (CNN).

Shame.

He, as does everyone else in the media, knows exactly which side the bread is buttered on. Shameful.

Are you sure you're seeing what the rest of us are seeing, "snruB"? Or are there too many photon burns on your PC screen?

Several religions worship a deity who is the "son of a god" because that gives the prophet/rabbi/savior/whatever more chops, so to speak. Read the stories about the birth of Siddhartha, not just the Greek myths. It's very interesting."

Indeed. The notion of god or gods or goddesses being incarnated as human beings is a common one throughout world religions, although KKKristians would have you believe that it's their belief alone.

Mr King has made two good decisions. Why the fuss? Oh, CNN is involved. CNN talking heads don't often make good decisions. What would the headlines be like if the couple decided to become Scientologists?

"i agree that christianity itself isn't a religion, it is more a description of what people put their faith in. it's kind of an umbrella that covers most religions based on christ. however, if you break them down to the specifics (i.e. catholicism, mormonism etc.) those are actually religions."

I don't see Christianity as a religion at all, but merely as a form of authoritarian social control imposing its will by fear of the threat of divine punishment, while offering nothing real in the way of rewards.

"...for a definition of religion click the link
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion"

I doubt if religion can really be defined, since it takes so many forms. I'm not interested in "definitions," which are all man-made and to some degree arbitrary, as opposed to the real things behind the definitions. Definitions fit things, things don't fit definitions.
