WASHINGTON — An investigation of city computers found that dozens of employees frequented pornographic Web sites at work and clicked on thousands of images, the mayor said Wednesday.

As many as nine district workers from various agencies, including the Child and Family Services Agency, will be fired after an internal investigation found that each had clicked on porn images more than 19,000 times last year, Mayor Adrian Fenty said.

An additional 32 employees who each visited porn sites more than 2,000 times last year will be suspended or reprimanded, he said.

The investigation did not reveal any evidence of child pornography, said acting D.C. Attorney General Peter Nickles.

The probe of 10,000 city computers was launched last month after the city received a complaint from an employee about other workers browsing and downloading pornographic content on government computers. Officials eventually uncovered abuse at 18 agencies.

The city has installed filtering software on its computers that is supposed to block access to porn sites and display a message informing the user of the city's Internet policy.

This happens everywhere... they just got caught here... I worked at Microsoft, and even if it wasnt porn, web surfing most the day was extremely common for a lot of developers. People just saw them as so "smart", they were the "devs" that people who couldnt develop didnt question how long it actually takes to code something. So, the fast coders would appear to "work" for 10-14 hour grueling coding hours, to find out they probably did 2 hours of actual coding.

And I'm supposed to be surprised about this?
Local governments here, EMS services, fire departments, sheriff's office and police departments have all discovered that their workers regularly look at porn while on the work schedule.
**** runs downhill, folks.

Imagine the S& M sites frequented by the White House!Of course they film their own as well using Arabs as the " snuffed" and humiliated. They must have a shxtload to show at their Bohemian Grove and Christian film night get togethers.

They probably loan them out to Blackwater etc to get the guys pumped.

Well, if they're not looking at people-smut, they're looking at biz- smut, or figuring out who the next patsy will be that they'll soak for more tax revenue. There's a cure for it though, about 150k pink slips. Maybe if they did that, as if by 'magic' the federal budget might balance. Nah. They'd never do that, that'd be attacking their own...

This is the best case I have heard for cutting the size of government.

If they have time to watch porn on our tax dollars, they are by definition over funded.
