Randy Salerno, CBS Chicago Anchor, Dies In Snowmobile Accident

WBBM-Ch. 2 (Chicago) has reported the death of their morning anchor, Randy Salerno.

According to WBBM, Salerno died in a snowmobile accident in Eagle River, Wisconsin, in which he was the passenger. The Vilas County (Wisconsin) Sheriff's Department has issued a statement saying, "Alcohol and speed are believed to be a factor in the crash." The Chicago Tribune reports that the accident took place around 11:30 pm last night.

Salerno anchored the Channel 2 morning news in Chicago alongside co-anchor Roseanne Tellez. Salenro also had a role in the 1996 film "Primal Fear," where he played a local WGN reporter. He is survived by his wife, Irene, and their three children.
