I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Obama Gets More Votes Than Mccain And Huckabee Com

The Daily Dish:

That's a staggering fact, as a reader reminds me:

In last week's SC GOP primary, McCain and Huckabee (the top 2 finishers), got 147,283 and 132,440 votes respectively. That's a total of 279,723. Obama just pulled down 291,000 by himself. Here's the data.

I'd say this is the game changer. Obama can now say that he's got the best ability to put southern states in play. Obama can attempt a true 50 state strategy. He probably would not win too many southern states, but winning a few absolutely obliterates the GOP's chances in November.

Another interpretation:

This also shows that George W Bush is a uniter after all: People are so fucking frustrated that even rednecks are willing to give a black guy a chance.

Obama's numeric total is still impressive, but there were 4 serious candidates competing in SC last week (McCain, Romney, Huckabee, and Thompson) with only 3 on the Democratic side on Saturday. The total vote for McCain + Romney + Thompson + Huckabee = 416,322 (based on results on the CNN web site). Obama's total was 295,091, and the Dem total (Obama + Clinton + Edwards = 529,771). It's a good win for Obama numerically, but I wouldn't get too excited about a candidate in a 3-way race doing better than 2 candidates in a 4 (or 5 if you count Ron Paul)-way race.

83% of the people on this site http://www.barackobamacentral.com say they will NOT vote for Hillary if she gets the nomination. 8% say they will, 8% are undecided.

In order to win, the candidate has to be able to attract the independent voters. Obama has shown that he can strongly attract them.

Hillary, as has been demonstrated in the primaries, cannot attract the independent voters, but McCain can.

You see something is happening but you don't know what it is, don't you Ms. Clinton?

The same thing applies to die hard Clinton supporters.

Think about everything that Obama has to overcome.... The Clintons have 100% name recognition, vicious emails that state he is a Muslim, Hillary's surrogates saying that he is a Muslim, Lies and distorations by the Former President of the United States.

I mean DAMN! This man is something geat to overcome all of that and beat Hillary 2 to 1.

Something is going on and you would be stupid not to recognize it. Think about this for a second... Obama won the most delegates in South Carolina, Iowa and Nevada, and tied for 1st in New Hampshire. When I hear the pundits saying Hillary is still going to win I think that they have lost their mind. So far Obama is 4 for 4. This man is going to be the next President.

Obama is the reason that I'm willing to get up off the sofa and drive 15 miles to volunteer my time and cold call people and ask them to vote for him.
NOW THAT'S POWER!

I prayed he would win that was all i asked for because I knew a lose here would be a major setback.

I was joping that if he won that he would win by the number comnparable to the last poll by Zogby. The almost 30% margin of victory blew my mind.

That was some good o'l fashioned butt wooping!

Comparing Republican and Democrat votes seems kind of like comparing lemons and apples. Many people may not have yet decided who they want to vote for, given the small differences between most of the people running (Do I vote for the white bread in the blue wrapper, or the white bread in the teal wrapper?).

But then again, maybe you need to do this type of comparison, since it (like polling) is a way to try and convince people to act like sheep and vote for the popular person, rather then actually listen and decide for themselves. Only 282 days left to influence the vote by pointing out who is popular, rather then who is saying something important.

It isn't just SC. The numbers compare favorably with what we saw In Iowa and NH. Democrat candidates are pulling in huge numbers of voters. Of course, it remains to be seen if these translate to votes next November but the numbers thus far are more than a little impressive.

Hillary will eventually be the democratic nominee. Don't get to carried away with South Carolina. After all, this is the state where men with no teeth screw their sisters and children. These hillbillies have 54 delegates, and that is nothing to get excited about. This website didn't even mention the fact that Hillary has already won the 8th largest state(Michigan) and is up big in Florida, New York, and California. Will Obama make a good VP?

In fact, Republican Primary = 442,918. Tonight for the Democrats: 530,322 with 99% in.

That's nearly more than 100,000 more, in a Republican state. Double the number of blacks (I hate the term African-Americans, I mean, when people say that, are they talking about Egyptians?), and treble the number of 18-24's.

Both Obama and Clinton are doing a great job getting people out. But I have to think it is mostly Obama, especially in those two categories.

Here are a few more "stagering facts"
From “The State” this AM:
"In 2004, about 290,000 people voted in the Democratic presidential primary. Party officials are hoping as many as 350,000 voters will head to the polls today."
And
"Last week — in ice, rain and cold — Republican turnout dipped about 22 percent from the all-time high in 2000. About 445,000 voted in last Saturday’s Republican primary."

This means that Obama's vote exceeds the total vote for democrats in the 2004 primary. Also, Democratic party vote this week is 19% higher than the Republican vote last week.

Is South Carolina turning blue?
