Another idiotic assertion related to 9/11.

The fallout from that event will continue to contaminate our political discourse for decades primarily because many of the individuals and nation/states responsible are still not held accountable for their actions, but also, because Democrats and Republicans alike have gamed and will continue to game 9/11 for political purpose. Look no further than the daily headlines for examples of how 9/11 continues to influence our politics:

- Afghanistan is still a failed state,

- The Taliban is destabilizing Pakistan,

- American Troops are still in Iraq,

- An American Gulag has been created at Guantanamo,

Shall I continue, or can we all now agree that the "politics of 9/11" will be in play for a long, long time?

I for one am glad to see Giuliani get out of the race. I lived in NYC during Giuliani's time as mayor and all his 9/11 heroics were bullshit. I'm happy that the American people didn't fall for his crap and sent Giuliani packing.

Guliani was never a serious candidate, it was all a ploy for name recognition so that he can promote his business and keep his expensive wife in furs. He gets to keep his campaign war chest and will settle into a new life as a news commentator, commencement speaker and corporate shill.

Though I actually admire Kucinich, I suspect he too had little expectation of the nomination, and like Brownback and Ron Paul, used the Presidential campaign as a free campaign vehicle to keep their elected seats. It is the only explaination why any 4th to 8th level candidate would even try to run.

Rudy will support McCain now. His objective? Attorney General. McCain is still beating the war drums. Let's hope he goes the way of the "beast" and sooner rather than later.

I am heart broken with the thought that Rudy will not be President . I was looking forward to seeing which designer he would tap to design his Inaugural Ball Gowns .
