Islam, people can say what they want, but when things like this happen it becomes so apparent that this religion, in these backward countries, has no tolerance, no understanding, no real connection to anything pure, holy, or just. It is barbaric beyond belief and it brings up the question about why are our kids fighting and dying over there?

This goes to show you just how barbaric the Islam religion can be in the hands of certain believers.

Bush should have used U.S. troops to surround and get Osama when he had the chance. Now, he wants to control what government the Afghans have. It was not the Taliban that attacked the U.S. in New York, it was the organisation that Osama was building. We could have gone after Osama without the Taliban government's permission. What were they going to do, use their ultra-modern weapons to stop us from going into Tora Bora?
I can't imagine any sane Westerner admiring the Taliban, but to the Pashtun, apparently, they are the "in" thing. Whatever. Maybe in a 100 years they will evolve into something more modern, like Saudi Arabia, where a journalist might only be jailed for such a horrible offense as saying a woman should be treated as a human being.
By the way, it was less than 90 years ago that women got to vote in the U.S., and 150 years ago the Mormons were practising polygamy regularly. Look how far we have come in 100 years! Today, we have a woman and a black man scaring half the nation silly with the possibility that one of them might be elected to the presidency.

Reading articles like this make me think that we do not just have differences of culure and opinion. I am made to think that Arab countries like this are antequated, inferior, and perhaps there are indeed lots people out there who should be wiped off the map.
