Us:

Heath Ledger's battle with alcohol and drugs was so harmful to his relationship with Michelle Williams that she tried to get him to enter rehab, Us Weekly reports in its latest issue, on newsstands now.

For three years, Williams was a firsthand witness to the gifted actor's use of alcohol and drugs, including cocaine, heroin and "a variety of pills," says a Ledger confidant.

In March 2006 - just weeks after the couple walked the Oscars red carpet and when daughter Matilda was only five months old - Williams drove Ledger to Promises Treatment Center in Malibu, California, the confidant tells Us Weekly.

Why do they keep saying: "Drugs & Alcohol"?

It should be "Drugs especially Alcohol"!

Alcohol is the epitome of drugs... and is a dangerous 'gateway' drug.

They seek to confuse because if they acknowledged that alcohol is a drug then alcohol prohibition was actually drug prohibition and that was found to be unconstitutional.

So you see there is no drug war... the 18th Amendment abolished alcohol/drug prohibition!

It looks like there are two possibilities here. One, the MSM will turn this tragedy into yet another highly profitable industry with endless exposes, books, TV specials, feature films, lecture tours, documentaries and other worthless crap purely for the big bucks. And screw his ex-fiance, family and friends in the process.

Two, people actually stop and look at the issues involved here. First, assume for a second that he did do all these drugs. Did anybody force him to do these? In the end, he alone is responsible for his actions. Sadly though, if you're a "star" and make money for the studios, your agent/manager and others, who's going to stop you? It was common knowledge that he was a druggie in NY and "kept it under control." How do you keep heroin and coke under control? You can't use the excuse that Al Franken and others did when Belushi died. We didn't know blow was addictive. We didn't know that he was an addict. Maybe because you were just as busy getting f****d up as he was.

Instead of taking advantage of another perfect opportunity to have a helpful discussion, it's going to be just another goldmine for TMZ and the other sleeze media.

NO stories like this came out when Ledger was alive. It must be nice for the sleazebags, knowing that the dead cannot sue them for slander.

Perhaps it will take a full-fledged boycott to get Ariana Huffington to stop helping to spread this indefensible post mortem trash.

Ah, the Heath sleaze begins....thanks, America, for lowering the bar again.

He should be remembered for who he actually was.

These stories are needed. They are in the public interest. We need as individuals to do whatever we can to stop people from taking drugs and get those clean, who are taking them. Life and death issues are always important.
