Homeless Vets Prepare To Block O'Reilly's Shot

UPDATE: The homeless vets got turned away by Fox News and O'Reilly. We've got full video of what went down (and Keith Olbermann's take) here.

+++

Wednesday afternoon, John Edwards suspended his candidacy for President, vowing to "never forget" the poverty-stricken Americans he so passionately stood up for, and beseeching the remaining candidates - indeed, all Americans - to continue the work that he termed "the cause of [his] life." This afternoon in New York City, some of that work will resolutely continue, as a group of homeless veterans - one of the segments of the population of forgotten Americans that Edwards spoke of so often on the stump - will swarm FOX News Channel's Studios to bring their fight to Bill O'Reilly, the millionaire celebrity host of The O'Reilly Factor.

O'Reilly, who regularly defamed Edwards as a phony, has a lot to answer for. In attacks on the former North Carolina Senator, O'Reilly has repeatedly belittled his compassion, issued inflammatory statements and mocking attacks, and denied both the "existence and significance" of homeless veterans. As recently as January 16, O'Reilly took to the airwaves to rain ridicule upon Edwards, saying, "Well, we're still looking for all the veterans sleeping under the bridges,...so if you find anybody, let us know." As we reported two days later, Robert Greenwald and his crew at Brave New Films did exactly that.

Now, a group from Fitzgerald House, an "organization representing homeless veterans," plans to bring their fight for recognition to Fox's doorstep. They plan on visiting the Fox News Channel Studios today at 3:00 pm, and will come carrying a petition signed by 17,000 people demanding an apology from O'Reilly for his ignorance and abuse. In a press release, Brave New Films and Fitzgerald House say thay "have found that it is very easy to locate homeless veterans and are willing to help O'Reilly find them if his desire to help homeless vets is sincere."

Of course, the last time we checked in on O'Reilly, he was in New Hampshire, bullying Obama aides, and snarling about how "nobody blocks a [camera] shot" on the "Factor." Well, we'll see about that.

Hopefully a VETERAN will stalk BILL O and drag him to his home under a bridge and make him see what cold and hungry really means. And maybe if he is lucky, BILL O will be able to eat a meal once a week.

Remember the Bonus March after World War I? All the "tramps" wanted was their earned adjusted compensation certificates. The US government busted up their makeshift Tent City. History DOES repeat itself....

O'Reilly is one of the most mean-spirited obnoxious people in the right wing media. I tried watching him once. I lasted a whole 1 minute or 2. That attitude of his really sucks big time. He is a truly nasty person. As far as I am concerned it tells me something about the trash that listen to this drivel nightly. No wonder most of them have mental problems. Always listening to that venom. It is enough to destroy anyone's good attitude.

The biggest piece of bat dung ever put on earth, since Rove is rumored to be getting in with the boys wouldn't it be great if they had a show with, K Rove, S Hannity, R Limpballs, D. Morris, B Bennett, B Oreilly and D Cheney, and the terrorist blew up the building - what a beautiful thought!!!!!!!!!!

John Edwards IS a PHONY!!

~

Don Knight, Orange County building plans examiner, told CJ that, including the recreational building, the Edwardses" home would be one of the largest in Orange County.

Knight approved the building plans that showed the Edwards home totaling 28,200 square feet of connected space. The main house is 10,400 square feet and has two garages. The recreation building, a red, barn-like building containing 15,600 square feet, is connected to the house by a closed-in and roofed structure of varying widths and elevations that totals 2,200 square feet.

The main house is all on one level except for a 600-square-foot bedroom and bath area above the guest garage.

The recreation building contains a basketball court, a squash court, two stages, a bedroom, kitchen, bathrooms, swimming pool, a four-story tower, and a room designated "John"s Lounge."

O'Reilly lost any chance at maintaining my attentions once it was clear he wasn't going to hold to his promise of trashing Bush IF NO WMD'S WERE FOUND. Once it was abundantly clear he was as much in bed with the rest of the asshats as the whole gang at Fox, I no longer had a reason to even check up on him.

Tweety has pretty much gone by the wayside with me as well for other reasons, although they are trust related as well.

Enjoy.

Who ARE the homeless?

Who knows, ex mortgage fund bankers, veterans,
lifestyle specialists, probably some writers,
they're always starving artists, and people that've washed out of the job market, probably some mentally ill people, felons, your usual vermin and human trash. My kind of people. Why affiliate myself with the downtrodden? Because I, too, have felt society's heartless boot heel on my neck, but adapted and kept myself employed after some fashion for the better part of the last 20 years. There, but for the grace of god, go I, says I, and it's important NOT to look down on people that've got rough circumstances, because, for all you now, by the time the whole mortgage business shakes itself out, there could be quite a few MORE homeless. Including bankers.
The business world will grind whatever grist the mill requires(love that line, master and commander there), in order to enhance its' profitability. Part of this is the wonderful world of real estate(never seen any fake estate, but it sounds pretty specific). In a realtor's mind,( probably a fairly filthy place to be, nevermind a tight fit), YOU are a 'consumer'. If you don't fit the model, you're out the door, YOU can be replaced by a nice mexican family, so the logic goes...?
I want to know if there'll be any easements to let people in urban/suburban/wherever the hell,
put up tentage, like if you could basically get a tentage permit, or if the property matrix is so tight that any attempt to do so would essentially amount to grounds for trespassing charges. People gotta stay somewhere, either they gotta facilitate that, or build bigger jails...

The good and evil is that day put on left and right hands an open ledgers explaining things correctly ...........

"quote" when i put ink to thee and ye trusted it not instead made mockery but by that time i had entrusted ye with plenty that was well utilised for your children too while i suffered .it was 1998 if and im correct. The dertraction went waste in no more than a couple of years ,the year 2000 ,when www.geocities.com/theempiregreets ,and there were no doctors or doctrines except lies and deniel ...

I have hence put a great measure of gold and silver on the right tables now and i hope the suffering in the world should end..Will ye adhere ?

On 27th Dec i bookeds space at Islamabad Press Club for a Press Conference ... The Conference was cancelled because of MS Benazir Bhutto's untimely assasination .. But days later after i was invited back the conbference was not even identified by The Press.HERE's THE REAL DEPRECIATION ...However in day preceeding her assasination Fox TV was reallowed its broadcasts... The Emergency that was installed in Pakistan by Pres Gen Musharaff banned all TV Stations broadcasts and re-allowed them in days and order ..The news in Pakistan contains thier 'Press' attentions.. Like 90 Persons were reported killed in Shite Sunni fighting at Karachi the day before BBC was allowed broadcast...but through the whole ten days of muharamm thier was only one incident of embarrasment at a 'site of shite seating ' at Peshawar where 13 were killed............

I like O'Reilly sometimes, but at other times I think he's a headcase.

I can't believe that he is still going on and on about the Homeless vets, yet he never utters a peep about the Andrea Mackris sex scandel. Boy, if it were me and I were innocent of the sex thing then I would be speaking everywhere on how I was lied on. Talk about priorites.

Here's how Iraq is different than Vietnam:

With Iraq, supporters of the war are the ones spitting on vets when they return home.

The rich repugnancies that keep billo going are happy with whatever he says because it keeps the focus off the bastards who should be watched. I've been a haomeless viet-nam vet and the bridge was a safe place for me to deal with what used to be called flashbacks. It kept people safe from me as well. I got locked up after I was used up and now I get to hear some pale soft gelatinous alefish tell me I never happened. Bill would make good sea pu### and then he could pretend to be a man in port. Look behind you bill, look around you bill...the world is not that little red light on the camera nor meals at chez paris replete with snails(escargot) and a nice crisp brisling. There are roaches, rats and food stamps in on-base housing, powdered f###ing milk and eggs. Take a tour of the real world where actual blood is spilled, smell some fucking blood and somebody's guts with damn flies on them. A football player walked away from real money to fight and got fragged so mush limbo and jr dumbo can talk shit about sacrifice. Give this shitbird a rifle, a piss pot and some MRE's for 90 days then turn that into 18 months while she feeds her kids powder and water. Support the school painters! Bin Laden is is afghani-pakistan, not Iraq, new louie with a compass.

every time i see a post by friendlyiran, i am reminded of a little bully who stands in the corner with his lip out and screams until he gets his way. and then when he finally gets his way, he is still not happy.

i am sure he thinks he's cool, and getting a rise out of the crazy liberals. but in reality, he just gets in the way.

Even is rush was arguing the point that homeless vets could not be a byproduct of two America's as John Edwards said, Rush is still wrong because many people enlist to escape gang infested neighborhoods, lack of employment and as a way to get better quality education. Something Limpbaugh would have no direct experience of.
