Hillary: Michigan Victory Overcame "Very Vigorous" Campaigning Against Her

Senator Hillary Rodham (D-N.Y.) mocked Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) tonight for his high-flown rhetoric, suggesting she would fight important fights when he would back down....

..."I think that both Michigan and Florida should count, because these are two states we have to carry," she said. "This is not about so much as the ins and outs of the Democratic National Committee as to whether the Democrats are going to win in the fall. "In Michigan, all of us had a chance to leave our names on the ballot - I chose to do so," she continued. "My opponents ran a very vigorous campaign to get people to vote 'uncontested.' There was a campaign going on - it was a campaign against me, and I still won a majority.

Oh, yeah, and I am the tooth fairy. Everyone removes their names from the ballot and she keeps hers on. DNC, are you going to allow this lie to stand?

In order for there to be a fair primary, everyone must have an equal chance...unless, of course, your name is Hillary.

C;mon, already, enough of this crap!

The good senator wants to change the rules in the middle of the game. Hello, you are supposed to be working to overcome your negatives and frankly all this griping and spinning just isn't helping you Senator. And yes you have negatives and maybe it is not of your own making and therefore unfair to you but this is your task to convince us accordingly. Another thing, the voters are serious about change, it is not merely a slogan. It is a deep desire and feigning a commitment to change appears insincere. Good luck.

Exactly how many wins ago was that Hillary, that you won Michigan, in where your name was the only one on the ballot?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:17 PM on 02/12/2008

obama, edwards and richardson decided to disenfranchise michigan primary voters. well, it won't wash. hillary won, and the delegates should be counted.

As usual, Billary and their supporters go back on their word. Two times now Hillary has lied to us. We're still in the primaries. What happens if she became president? All the promises she's making now go out the window.

Lie # 1: Along with all other dems, she agreed to not count Florida and Michigan. Now, like Bill being against the invasion of Iraq from the beginning, she was against this approach all along.

Lie #2: Along with Edwards and Obama, she agreed to not debate on Faux News Channel. Now, since Fox treats her better than MSNBC, she wants to debate on Fox.
Nominate Obama. Nuff said.

It was the DNC, not them, but you know that already....
Spin away...
I guess 45% of the delegates have to go to "uncommitted" then, since the Clintons only managed 55% against NOBODY.

Sounds like elections in the old Soviet Union - only one candidate......:-)

Classic. Hillary Clinton ignores the DNC and leaves her name on the Michigan ballot while Edwards and Obama listen to the DNC and take their names OFF the ballot and Clinton calls that a fair election. At least we understand HRC's definition of what fair & democratic elections are.

I guess HRC is ready to lead on day one...in a third world country!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:58 PM on 02/12/2008

And she only got 55% of the vote over "uncommitted".
What typical, typical spin and chicanery.
I'm not surprised. A Clinton's word, as always, is as good as Bush's.

what universe are these people living in? it's definitely not this one. it's completely disingenuous to act like she's been on the side the florida and michigan voters from the beginning, she signed the pledge like everyone else and she's on their side now because she "won" there, and the race has gotten uncomfortably close.

It seems as things get more desperate, the mask has been removed from HRC. No pretense any longer. This is knock-down-drag-out gutter politics at its finest. It'ss desperation and it won't play well.

...DOES SHE KNOW WE KONW SHE IS LYING?

IS THIS PART OF HER CALCULATION?

The fact is there are many people who don't know about her lies.

We need to put together a list of all her 2008 lies and send to everyone so they can be educated about this BS.

NO. Obama did not run ads in Florida. Stop making it up as you go along, and stop lying.

Obama wouldn't need those delegates. He can win by following the rules, it seems. Unlike Clinton.

More spin. He ran NATIONAL ads. Florida IS still part of the nation - but after the 2000 election, maybe they shouldn't be....;-)
Hillary actively campaigned in Florida, but called it fund raising....

I probably read a half dozen fawing, sycophantic 'Obama is the second coming' editorials and blogs every day and I shrug them off like a light rain...

Why is it that when someone comes out in praise of Clinton or her policies, it's somehow newsworthy? Holy shit someone likes Hillary! There must be something fishy here!

I remember NAFTA, renting out the Lincoln bedroom, NOTHING being done after the first World Trade Center Bombing in '93, hearing Bill lie to the public and under oath...

I don't want a third Clinton term.

This is why people hate Hillary Clinton

For those of you wondering where the hate comes from......Here you go.

Hillary's comments are a harbinger of the chaos that she intends to cause when she turns this into a legal circus. You can hear her setting up her lawyering right now. Just like Bush, she wont actually get the popular vote and win an election
she will use party insiders and lawyer type tricks to get what the people dont want her to have.

So you hate Hillary for what happens in case your guy isn't the nominee?? And what you THINK she may do?

I always thought you have a right to hate someone if they have done you a real terrible wrong. Wow, I'm glad you're not a member of my family.

Typical Clinton doubletalk and dishonesty.

Shame on you, Senator. You knew about the DNC's decision to disqualify Michigan's primary votes beforehand (we all did), and now you act like you didn't.

You knew Bush would invade Iraq when you voted to give him the authority to do it (we all did), and now you claim otherwise.

You know your vote with Bush on Iran will probably start another war there (we all do), and now you claim otherwise.

You have a problem with honesty, Senator. Shame on you.

WTF? 'Shame on you?'

We have George Fucking Bush in the White House yet some of you are spinning on your thumbs obsessing over whether Michigan's delegates are seated?

Grow up, get some perspective and stay focused on the real problems in this country. You may think it's Hillary Clinton, but that's the Kool-Aid talking...

Yeah, yeah. The Clinton's think they're running against Bush, and apparently you do, too.
So, Clinton lies and spin are okay?
I am tired of the same old crap.

Remember Bush campaigned in 2000 with "restore integrity to the White House?"

Sure, he didn't, but the point was there WAS a need to restore integrity after the Clintons.

What do you see in them? Are you a lobbyist?

In the super delegate threads, we have Hillary supporters complaining that Obama is trying to change the rules by (wisely, IMO) warning the Democratic party not to destroy their voter base by ignoring their input.

So what do said supporters call this attempt? Hillary isn't asking for a new and fair primary, she is asking for free votes that she didn't really earn.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:29 PM on 02/12/2008

EXACTLY. Should there be a "do-over" for Florida and Michigan? I think so, but to try and count Michigan, in particular, is ridiculous.
