Hillary Agrees To NBC Debate

Talking Points Memo:

The Clinton campaign has just confirmed to me that contrary to expectations, she will in fact be taking part in the NBC debate in Ohio on Feb. 26th, after all.

The question of whether she'd participate was still up in the air this morning, but the decision to participate has now been made by the campaign.

The campaign had threatened to boycott all future NBC debates after MSNBC's David Shuster made his now-notorious "pimp" comment about Chelsea.

Obama , claimes to be running as a straight arrow candidate, should have stepped up and said NO to MSNBC debate. They have done nothing , but unfairly attack Hillary.

Their debate does not mean much, with the over the top theatrics of Russert, as if he is the focus of the whole debate.

In my opinion, the Clintons are politically filthy. Nothing is beneath them & they will say & do anything to win. Should they win, they will come into the White House with 20+ years of political favors to payback & lobbyist to please.

Why can't we make a clean break & fresh start?

I know why the Clintons are fighting to gain & retain power. I think Bill is terrified of being eclipsed by Barack - prior to Obama, many saw Bill as the most charismatic leader, capable of communicating & connecting with people in a way, not seen for a longtime. Compared to Obama, Bill looks quite ordinary.

Do we really want to have to look at, hear & deal with the Clintons again? What's wrong with us? Don't we feel worthy of going for something so much better? The Clintons are filthy!

Failed health care policy by Hillary, lost the house and senate, lied about Paula Jones, got sued by Paula Jones, had to pay Paula Jones large amount of money, got involved with Monica, lied about it to a grand jury, lied about it to the country and the little wife, got impeached, NAFTA. Anything else? Oh yes, pardoned Mark Rich, brother-in-law received money for help in getting pardons.

Considering David Shuster’s usual professionalism, it’s ironic that he was suspended for a relatively singular lapse in judgment. The right wing noise machine puts out an endless steam of deliberately malicious lies and there is never a hint of remorse. The GOP loyalists thrive on calumny, the more egregious it is, the better they like it. It’s also ironic that NBC seems to have never noticed the sheer nonsense flowing non-stop from its own right-wing minions Tucker Carson, Joe Scarborough, and Chris Matthews. Matthews can’t seem to get enough right-wing noise with guests like Tom Delay.

how many debates does it take? are people so lazy that they won't type in a simple url to find out about a candidate. it's ridiculous and presumptuous to think either candidate will be able to say something of substance. this is about free airtime, plain and simple. kudos to her for getting away with it by putting her competition between a barack and a hard place, so to speak. intelligent people hopefully will seek more depth of information beyond soundbytes and catchphrases (not to mention softball Q&As).
