Report: Mark Penn In Shouting Match At Clinton HQ

Wall Street Journal   |  Monical Langely and Amy Chozick   |   February 14, 2008 10:39 AM

The Wall Street Journal has an article detailing the recent shakeup in the Clinton campaign, after losing a series of primaries to Barack Obama. Internal tensions have leaked out, something rare for the usually tight-lipped camp:

But the campaign has something of a shellshocked feel, as staffers privately chew over a blowup last week where internal frictions flared into the open. Clinton campaign operatives say it happened as top Clinton advisers gathered in Arlington, Va., campaign headquarters to preview a TV commercial. "Your ad doesn't work," strategist Mark Penn yelled at ad-maker Mandy Grunwald. "The execution is all wrong," he said, according to the operatives.

"Oh, it's always the ad, never the message," Ms. Grunwald fired back, say the operatives. The clash got so heated that political director Guy Cecil left the room, saying, "I'm out of here."

Whether it is Obama or Hillary they will not be able to run the nation without some higher authority and that higher authority is a group of crooks - the lobbyists. Obama is leading way ahead and therefore he already has a long list of I owe you
No poliitician can escape the crooks who will hound the corridors of Washington. Still make your choice - if you feel Hillary will not have to be indebted as much then vote for her and if you feel Obama can do his job without cronies then go for him.

"As part of that revamp, Sen. Clinton is getting tougher on Mr. Obama.... Meanwhile, she launched her first negative ad..."

What? She has been negative for WEEKS. This article is pathetic faux journalism.

Read the full WSJ article... it's very telling who Hillary is pandering to for campaign cash. She has sold her soul to agents of a foreign government just as McCain has. This explains her Kyle/Lieberman "Bomb Iran" vote.

snip: Earlier this week, Mr. Mantz held a quick meeting in a hotel lobby in Washington with donors, some of whom are involved in the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC and were in town for other business.

This is the same reason why she can never admit that voting for the Iraq war was a mistake. The neo-con zionists influence owns this candidate.

Wake up America.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:15 PM on 02/19/2008

Exactly - her vote for the Authorization in 2002 and her subsequent prevarications might be more ambiguous if not for that telling Kyl-Lieberman vote.

Let's remember - because seemingly not a damned soul wants to recall - that President Clinton signed off on the Iraq Liberation Act almost *ten* years ago, and thereby began the flow of dollars to convicted felon Ahmed Chalabi and the made-from-whole-cloth "Iraqi National Congress" (see: Renson Group). Somehow it's not a stretch to imagine this next possible President Clinton giving AIPAC the next war it's been yearning for.

No matter what Hillary says, you can count on people to discredit her.
Jesus Christ! If the same level of vitriol was aimed toward Bush- who actually deserves it-
he would have been impeached six years ago.

Back in 2000, I stood in a subway station in the Bronx with "Hillary For Senate" materials to be handed out. I was quite excited to have her running for senate.

Perhaps she should stay in the senate and understand why so many like me have turned on her. She was given the love and trust of many and has been a major disappointment. "Margaret Thatcher" and "Gray Davis" come to mind as I think of what Hillary has become. It's sad.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:39 AM on 02/20/2008

Hillary will say anything, and do anything to get this nomination. By any means necessary, the ends justify the means, etc. The same thinking that Bush used to justify the war and his other failed policies. Hillary has shown a pattern of poor judgement. She makes political decisions, not moral decisions.
She voted for the war because she didn't want to be on the wrong side if the war was the cakewalk Bush promised. She didn't want to appear soft on terror. Which is why she voted in 2006 against a ban on landmines. And why she voted for Kyl-Leiberman. She didn't think about what was best for America; she thought about what was best for Hillary.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:21 AM on 02/15/2008

Mark Penn, "ready" on day one. Solutions: staff turnovers and a morally/financially bankrupt campaign. To paraphrase.."All is not lost..the unconquerable will...the study and thirst for revenge..." Great campaign slogans. How's that inferno working out for you guys?

Blackwater? Blackwater is merely a subsidary of
Halliburton, Bectel and GBR. Mark Penn has little interest in the major Military-Industrial Complex! Well, maybe a little, tiny bit!
UP THE GOP! GOPers Forever!
p.s. This FAUX News Report is paid for by the Grand Old Perverts : GOP

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:42 AM on 02/15/2008

Blackwater is a privately held company founded and run by Erik Prince. Blackwater has nothing to do with Halliburton or Bechtel. And KBR (not GBR) is a Halliburton subsidiary.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 03:33 PM on 02/18/2008

Yes, the Mark Penn trying to sell us Hillary Clinton is the same one whose firm represents Blackwater. John Edwards brought that up as something noteworthy.

If mom will gracefully resign now, the country can get over the "Hill," and then after 2 uplifting Obama terms the Clintonian dynastic claims can be realized. Abdicate now Hill, and your daughter yet one day may be president. Don't throw away the family name by standing in the way of change.

Chelsea Clinton 2012!!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 03:05 AM on 02/15/2008

The Hallmarkpenn channel is the real theme of the doomed Clinton campaign. Mark Penned the destruction of her campaign long before Obama came on the scene. "View Hillary as great as we do, or you're a sexist." Great strategy there Mark. How's that positive message working out for you? It's not the mediocre Bubba or even Bambi. There's an old yiddish saying..."the fish stinks from the head" = of Mark Penn. Super delegates will soon fall to the Obama campaign like Mark Pennies from heaven. It's all PC, Penn ^ Clinton, the greatest political team in history.

Sorry, but Penn and his links to Blackwater sicken, sadden and amuse me to no end. Please, please, please...send Mark Penn out to make stump speeches so we can hear the true negativity of the campaign.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 06:02 AM on 02/15/2008

If Bush and his crowd are supporting Hillary in theri own ways and McCain has made statements about fighting Hillary until Barack got more states in his delegates list it sure seems like more republicans "in the Know" have been spoiling for a McCain Hillary fight. Weird crap when it's looked at as there semms to be something the republicans want to use againest her and it must be big, real big. The McCain gig seems to be more that the republicans with influence want to get someone like Cheney has been to bushie in the VP spot to control him if he wins. With Barack they will have to learn how to fight someone who doesn't do things like they do and hasn't gotten near the crap hidden under the covers like Hillary. They will tear her to shreds and laugh when McCain gets the oval. He will if she wins. She has voted in the senate not in ways to support those who elected her but in ways she thought it would help her with a run to the presidents job. It would piss me off if I elected someone like her with an agenda to the senate and she was only holding the office until she felt she would walk up the steps next January and get the crown. If people vote for her they get what they deserve and our country goes down the toilet as she or mcCain will flush it twice and then clog it with all kinds of toilet paper and crap. Then war. Together they can sing the bomb Iran song as she voted for that one too.

Hillary and her campaign staff are too stupid and naive to see through Murdoch"s well-planned scheme. Let"s look at the big picture; we all agree that Murdoch does not want a Democrat to win the General Election, Right? I suspect if a Democrat did win, Murdoch does not want the winner to be an African-American. Now let"s look at the details, Murdoch has publicly "endorsed" Obama while "secretly" supporting Hillary. This way he can "slam" Hillary in the NYP, but on the flip side handle her with kid gloves via Fox News. No one will think twice about this conflicting tactic, which is designed to lull Hillary into a false sense of security. It is working even now. Hillary is so secure that she has publicly praised Fox News and viciously condemned the more liberal media outlets like, MSNBC. Assuming Murdoch"s plan works, Hillary and McCain will face off in the General Election. At this stage, the media begins to rip Hillary to shreds from all sides. She starts to belly-ache about being treated unfairly in the media, the NYP says we were never in her corner; Fox News says, "Senator Clinton you said we were fair and balanced" and characterize her as a bitter flip-flopper. The liberal news outlets sit back and laugh and then tell her to piss off. Murdoch now has Hillary where he wants her, at the complete mercy of the media with little to no protection. Also, by this time she has screwed so many voters over no one cares if the media is sinking her campaign. Arrogance is the main reason Hillary can"t see the forest for the trees.

Sure Murdoch wants Hillary to win the nomination because that way there would be no chance for an African-American President, but what she fails to realize is that if she does win the nomination, he will use every source available to cut her down to size. Murdoch is a smart and crafty old man who sees Hillary"s nomination as a win-win for himself and the Republican Party.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:25 PM on 02/14/2008

maybe murdoch just wants assurance that his media empire will retain their second amendment rights. he knows it's not guaranteed with a repug in the white house!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:41 AM on 02/18/2008

Hillary's base: Old man -haters. I mean they're old, and they hate men, not just old men.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 07:41 AM on 02/15/2008

I agree with you! Take all of us older voters, women, latinos, the educated but not rich, the uneducated, the poor, and the blue collar voters out of the party and leave Barack his base for the election. That would leave, the flaky youth vote, vegan greenies, rich lawyers, state lobbyists, and most of the 15% of the population in solid red states that are African Americans. No republicans voting in our primaries will vote for him in November nor will most of the independants playing at fix the primary. I think that would give Obama just enough votes to win the office of lets see, oh yeah maybe another state senate seat in Illinois. Be careful who you insult, elections are not won by primary voting extremists alone.
