Barack Obama picked off a superdelegate previously committed to Hillary Clinton Friday in another setback for her campaign.

Sarah Swisher, a Service Employees International Union member from Iowa, switched after the union endorsed Obama.

I am STILL confused as to why ANY Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) member, Charlie Rangel included, would support Hillary Clinton.

Have CBC Hillary-backers lost contact with their constituencies? Have CBC Hillary-backers joined their "establishment" colleagues in believing they "know best"? Have CBC Hillary-backers forgotten the voters that "brought them to the dance"? Have CBC Hillary-backers forgotten the DREAM?

Charlie thought that hillarious was a shoe in and he wanted to buy access to the big house.

I thought this was an old headline about a NY super delegate swinging over a couple days ago but I clicked it to see if it was *yet* another super delegate. I'm glad I did.

Maybe Huffpo should have a special section or tab for updates on super delegate migration.

This only serves to make the argument that the Super Delegates need to make a pledge to go with the winner. Then the Democratic Party needs to get rid of this process altogether. All of the horse trading, pressure, and manipulation only proves that these folks are not there to stand above the fray and make decisions that are in the best interests of the Democratic Party or the country as a whole.

If you disagree, please ask yourself the following two questions:
1. If the Super Delegates were all about picking the person best qualified to be president, why didn't Joe Biden and Bill Richardson get more early support from the Super Delegates? Surely there were some who thought that all of their experience qualified them for the presidency?
2. If the Super Delegates are all about picking the person most likely to win a general election, why would they sign on before the candidates had a chance to present themselves to the American people. Wouldn't that give the Super Delegates some pretty important information about the preferences of the voting public?

If one attempts to answer these questions honestly, one is left to conclude that the Super Delegates are folks that are making decisions that are at least as motivated by personal considerations as by thinking about some greater good. And that's exactly why their will should not trump that of the voters.

It's over for Hillary. Obama is leading her, even including the SuperDelegates, and the Superdelegates are abandoning her en masse.

There are some die-hard Clinton supporters who think it's a great thing that she vows to fight all the way to the convention but most will see this as an extremely selfish move that will ultimately tear the party apart. It will cause her to lose even more support.

It appears the promises made to some superdelegates in exchange for their support may appear difficult to collect is her Hillaryship does not get the nomination. Politics is playing a sure card or a safe bet to remain in politics. Of course they will change if it looks like they are backing a loser.

I wonder if her Teenage Kid told her too. "Mommy, I'll hold my breath till I turn blue if you don't vote for Obama!"

Senator Claire McCaskill (D) Missouri, elected for the first time to the United States Senate in November 2006, explained why she was supporting Senator Barack Obama to be President of the United States. She is the only one of the 16 female Senators who now is.

These are her words. "It was a little nudging from my 18 year old Daughter." "It was Maddie in my face." "She, (Maddie), said, "How can you look yourself in the mirror, you"re a slug, you"re playing it politically safe, I believe in this guy, I"ll never speak to you again if you don"t stand up and have some courage." "
"It was pretty intense, she was right, it was like a cold bucket of water on my head, she was absolutely right."

This is one of the new breed of Democrats we sent to Congress in 2006 to end the Iraq War. The war has not ended and this is what we got instead. Are your kids holding their breath unless you vote for Barack Obama? Are we making the right choice now?

how juvenile to think that 51% majority can end the war. did you honestly think that would happen. hillary has never admitted her mistake. it will continue to bite her ass. claire mccaskill is a new democrat with a new way of thinking. yes, we are making the right choice. building a new coalition and broadening our base and bringing thousands of new voters out. yes, yes. all goo.

"There's a lot of stuff going beneath the surface, you know, stuff like, 'We'll get you if you don't support us,'" said a Georgia source close to the Congressional Black Caucus

This is what we have to look forward to if Hillary wins, more of the same crap. I hear people say that Obama is an unknown, but when compared to the known of Hillary; I'll take the chance.

Hmm, wonder if we're going to keep hearing from Hillary how important a principle it is to her that Super Delegates be able to decide the election after Obama gains more Super Delegates than her?

Any bets?

I hope Hillary's new slogan, "Solutions", does as well as:

- 'The Hillary I know'
- 'Experience vs. Change'
- 'Change You Can Count On'
- 'Ready on Day One'

Those worked wonders!

Great Luck!

This was just on the first page of Google. The first reference is genderless, the second reference is to two men (Obama and Edwards), the third reference is to the stock market.

Oh well, I guess if a man says it about a woman it must be sexist.

There are to be 4049 delegates (ordinary & super).

At the moment Obama & Clinton have 2475, Edwards has 26.

That means 1548 remain to be elected.

They're not 'uncommitted', they're not even elected yet.

There are said to be 365 'undeclared' Superdelegates.

Undeclared SuperD's + unelected D's equals 1913.
