... Obama supporters gathered Saturday to prepare for the endorsement of comedian George Lopez. "It turns out that Senator Obama is a fan of George Lopez, and they talked and George agreed to help him do everything he could, especially here in Texas," Lopez spokesperson Christy Haubegger said.

Carlos Mencia isnt a good endorsement. He steels material from other comedians like no tomorrow and thinks racism and sexism is just hilarious no matter how poorly constructed the punch line. You can do racism in an ironic way that is funny to make a point but his stuff is just pretty much like his main alter ego, retarded.

Most celebrities dont think much of their own endorsements unless they are politicians. Its the media and the people who flip out and start saying screw you we dont care what you think when in actuality people do. Because people pay attention to celebrities especially in the United States where they are put on such a high pedestal. Ie Oprah endorsing Obama was a big deal for women who consider her to be an educated adviser on issues dealing with women. George Lopez on the other hand is a very well informed Latino comedian who is a great figure in the community. Good on him for endorsing and long live his freedom to do so. Bottom line, people pay attention to celebrity endorsements because these people are figures/leaders that others model themselves after.

I live in Texas, and, I assure you, there is a difference between Mexican and Mexican-American. Maybe, you hadn't noticed. By the way, George Lopez's show was a bomb, even among Mexican-Americans. I doubt that his endorsement will move many votes.

the reality there are few Mexican Americans who call their own shots on their own television show...if you think he has had that show for so long because he has a majority of whites watching him then I have an island to sell you. He is enormously popular among Mexican Americans...as our most stars from mexican heritage...
