Cindy McCain Is Proud Of Her Country

As Senator John McCain urged voters here Tuesday to brave the cold - it was 3 degrees here this morning without the wind chill - to vote for him in the primary, his wife, Cindy, seemed to get in a dig at Senator Barack Obama's wife, Michelle.

It happened as Mrs. McCain introduced her husband at a get-out-the-vote rally in a hotel ballroom here, and she told the crowd: "I'm proud of my country. I don't know about you - if you heard those words earlier - I'm very proud of my country.''

Update: Here's a longer, and slightly different, version of the quote:

"What we have learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback. And let me tell you something " for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I"ve seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it"s made me proud."

I am feeling like Michelle Obama. I am woman, 55, wife & mother and for the very first time in my life I am working for a political campaign. I am working for Barack Obama. I too, am VERY proud that the American people want to take back their government and have those we elect work for US and not for others.

THE difference between someone REAL and a seasoned politican (excluding former President Clinton's temper tantrums of late on the stump....)

Michelle & Barack Obama have the VERY bad habit of NOT speaking in "sound bites" but in paragraphs which I pray & trust that they will NOT lose as the media attempts to create a story where one does NOT exist.....

To watch the 'mannequin' wife of Senator McCain come out of her trance-like state to make her patriotic statement ~ PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where are all the 'feminists' and women's rights advocates like Emily's List asking women to be 'offended' viewing the Republican wives who must stand LITERALLY behind 'their man' and look on adoringly, like Gidget did in her teen movies....Oh Moondoggie!

It's easy for Cindy Lou to say. She has never been followed around a department store because of the color of her skin. She has never been denied a mortgage or a line of credit because of the color of her skin. She has never been pulled over by the police because of the color of her skin.

But is your country proud of you?

I'm a proud American and proud Democrat that the Democratic party has a woman and an African American as our top contenders.

Cindy has had a sweet life. Rich parents and red leather suits. She just doesn't get it.
