Karl Rove's Newsweek Contract Details Confirmed

Rove Newsweek Contract

Karl Rove will be a member of the Newsweek family through 2009, the New York Observer's John Koblin has confirmed. Rove joined the Newsweek staff in November, but he has only contributed a paltry two columns so far. Koblin reports the details of his contract going forward:

The terms of Karl Rove's contract with Newsweek: It's a 2-year-deal, 8 columns per year and 16 overall.

A Newsweek spokeswoman confirmed this to Media Mob; editor Jon Meacham had let it slip out on Feb. 7, when a Columbia J-school student asked him about Mr. Rove (and right before Mr. Meacham asked an entire lecture-room full of Columbia students why they didn't like Newsweek).

When you rearrange the letters of his name, you get OVER. He is so over. . . and a good reason not to renew.

Does anyone remember TINY TIM?

He was FAMOUS...because...

He was weird. And kooky...and people couldn't get enough of staring at him.

He challenged a normal person's concept of what a human being was.

You either loved him or hated him - depending on your paradigm.

He was what he was -

http://youtube.com/watch?v=skU-jBFzXl0

He didn't make eggies though....rotten eggies.

Karl Rove is America's Political Tiny Tim.

I wonder if Darby uses his last name any longer, much less their son.

Is there a Morals Clause?

How about an Indictment Clause?

In either case I doubt KKKarl will fulfill the contract much beyond, lets see how long does it take to convene a Grand Jury?
June 2009.

Try to watch this Sunday's 60 Minutes and see what a sleazy scumbag Rove is. Perhaps Newsweek just wants someone like that to work for their magazine. I prefer a magazine with real intelligent, honest, contributors. Not a has been, slimy political operator.
Rove is responsible for the mess Bush has put us into, by his divisive and corrupt politics. Newsweek has lowered it's standards by hiring him.

I got a "freeby" subscription for Newsweek as a member of PBS' local broadcaster. Even then it wasn't worth the price. Scary when I decide not to renew something I received at no additional cost! Thanks, Karl, for making the decision easy for me.

You may also be glad about this after you watch this Sunday's 60 Minutes. You can see what a sleazy scumbag Rove is, and perhaps Newsweek just wants someone like that to work for their magazine. Wow, that's a truly impressive deal Newsweek made: less than one column a month, and undoubtedly for a ridiculous amount of money. And does anyone believe that Bush's brain will actually be writing these himself? With decisions like these, it's no wonder print media is in crisis.

Crossposted from another Rove column: Maybe one day Mr Rove will have to face justice for what he has bequeathed and perpetrated on America. Maybe not. Karma is unpredictable that way. But maybe one day Mr Rove on his deathbed will recant all that he has done, all the lies and slanderous immorality he has used to further his agenda, as his mentor Lee Atwater did on his death bed. As a spiritual and admittedly trying to be as moral and compassionate a person as I can be, I am sincerely not envious of Mr Rove.

Lee Atwater had an awakening on his death bed. Perhaps there is hope for redemption after all.

Great news! This is the kind of dynamic business decision that the sagging newsmag industry needs to energize and recharge its readership. And it's true and you read it here! Newsweek signs the most brilliant political mind in America today: KARL ROVE!

In the competition of weekly newsmags there is now a clear leader, and that's NEWSWEEK.

NEWSWEEK MAGAZINE: Good for its readership, good for its stockholders, and good for America.

Yep, Newsweek is officially no longer an acceptable source of news and commentary for me... scew you guys, I'm going home...

Hey, I have an idea. Let's publish the rantings of a serial liar and nearly-indicted traitor who compromised national security! Sell! Sell! Sell the lies to America! Good job, Newsweak!

You forgot profiteer and war criminal...

I am just wondering if there is a clause that Captain Howdy's office carpet be flatweave to eliminate those pesky cloven-hoof moments...and if newsweek now as a black mass optional section in the employee's lounge.

It is so bang right in our faces but I wonder if anyone cares that all of Bush's boys will be out there trying to change public opinion of his presidency. Jus think about it a few weeks ago we keep hearing about GWB legacey then a few days later popping up all over TV and in the papers Ari F, Karl Rove and a few others are now commentators, columnist and political expert. I think where being setup.

There is not that much spinning in the world. This administration will go down as the WORST in U.S. history. No other even comes close.

Both Time and Newsweek have long ago lost any semblance of 'Journalistic Integrity.' They are pro establishment, anti democracy, pro war, anti diplomacy, etc., etc.., No matter who is in charge they just fail to be anything but a 'weekly reader' for tween agers. They are weak in their choices of writers and analysts.

There was a time, as a young J-school student, when I was sure that working for either would be the high point of a career. God, was I stupid.

My Mom cancelled her 23 year - 23! - subscription cuz of Karl Rove.

I tried to get her to cancel about 10 yrs ago.
