LA Mayor's Ex-Reporter Girlfriend Back On The Air

LA Observed's Kevin Roderick reports:

The onetime rising star at Telemundo whose career burned up in the wreckage of an affair with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has taken the familiar post-TV route -- AM radio. [Today]'s edition of Hoy will report, in Spanish, that [Mirthala] Salinas is now a co-anchor of "Hoy por Hoy" on 690 XTRA AM in Los Angeles. The shows airs Monday through Friday.

Salinas quit her job at Telemundo after the station exiled her to a distant, far-flung bureau, in what was largely seen as a demotion. She and the mayor are reportedly no longer a couple.

This guy was on Charlie Rose last night and he was totally in love with Hillary.
he is creepy. he is as sold out to big money interest as Hillary so that is why he supports her.
I guess Charlie must have had trouble getting guests because this guy wasn't worth a five minute interview and he was on an hour. I couldn't watch much because he was fake and plastic.

He's Hillary Clinton's national campaign co-chair. When the affair scandal broke in LA, people wondered in Hillary would dismiss him because of the controversy with his marriage blowing up in public after cheating with the news anchor.

I guess it would've looked hypocritical for Hill to let him go, seeing as what her own husband did with Lewinsky? I guess the best she could do was let it ride, so to speak. Hill could have taken a tip from Villaraigosa's wife and jetted -- office be damned...t­hen at least maybe she wouldn't have Bill jacking up her campaign.

This "lady" has been in the beds of three of California's major politicos, including Fabien Nunez and another major player. Gives new meaning to the title, The Three Amigos. And these jokers still have the audacity to show their lousy faces in public. Is there no such thing as shame anymore? Guess not since it hasn't stopped the Clintons.

Though I am surprised, it looks like Telemundo had more empathy for the morals of it's viewers than it had tolerance for ms. player's values. Kudos to the Telemundo management. The bedrock of American values is morality and it is good, FINALLY, to see a corporation like Telemundo take it's oath of public service seriously. In the case of the Clinton's, it appears that if given a choice, democrat voters opted for a clean slate.

Frankly I expected her to make her comeback in spanish language entertinment reporting. She looks too good on camera to be wasted on radio.

Still she will be used in Journalism Schools for years to come as example number one of what NOT to do as a reporter.
