Clinton Spending Worries Campaign Donors

Nearly $100,000 went for party platters and groceries before the Iowa caucuses, even though the partying mood evaporated quickly. Rooms at the Bellagio luxury hotel in Las Vegas consumed more than $25,000; the Four Seasons, another $5,000. And top consultants collected about $5 million in January, a month of crucial expenses and tough fund-raising.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's latest campaign finance report, published Wednesday night, appeared even to her most stalwart supporters and donors to be a road map of her political and management failings. Several of them, echoing political analysts, expressed concerns that Mrs. Clinton's spending priorities amounted to costly errors in judgment that have hamstrung her competitiveness against Senator Barack Obama of Illinois.

This is indicative of what we can expect in a Clinton Presidency; incompetence with a little graft and a lot of corruption all spending, spending, spending...

Obviously she can't run a campaign without driving its finances into the ground. Do you think she can run a country?

What should really worry Clinton's high -end donors is this: Obama is raising millions from ordinary people. For the first time in history, ordinary people are winning a money game with the establishment.

I'd worry too. You can't buy this one. It's not for sale.

the headline is misleading to the point of being a lie. If you look at some of the details you see that Obama has outspent HRC and that many of there cost items are very close. It's misleading to say Mark Penn got 10million, when it was his company that also did all the printing and postage for tens of millions of mailers. The NYT article mentions that BO subs out those jobs but didn't list those amounts. Also, BO has spent about 20% more on ads and has spent more on polling than HRC has but she's given the rep for being poll-centric.

Just another HuffPo "fair and balanced" coverage of Hillary and Obama.

Lie? I agree with your statement about Mark Penn. His firm only gets $20,000 per month (which is cheap by firm standards). However, they do get a percentage of the $10 million for mail - trust me - I'm in the biz, I know what mail consultants actual costs are and what they charge.

However - can you truly explain this?

Howard Wolfson, the communications director and a senior member of the advertising team, earned nearly $267,000 in January. His total, including the campaign"s debt to him, tops $730,000.

Who is worth $267,000 per month????? That is one person, Wolfson, getting paid $267,000 for 1 month!

Bush Clinton Bush Clinton... Business as usual. It appears spending other people's money is something she's quite good at.

When will Hillary answer the question on earmarks? She danced all around this issue during the debate and never answered the question.

Kudos to Huffington Post.

Will her slush fund ever be investigated ?

and yet even now, just now on cnn, we're still being fed the bs about clinton on a losing streak because the obama campaign has been able to far outspend her, implying that he somehow has an unfair advantage

if this story is any indication of clinton's ability to manage america's economy "on day one" we should all be very worried

One of many of Obama"s highly paid consultants is media strategist David Axelrod. And Axelrod is also Obamas manger. His firm received $175,000 in January and has collected $1.2 million over all from Obama.

This is the same David Axelrod that is named in the Larry Sinclair suit against Obama.

THE COURT CASE WAS JUST FILED ON FEB 11TH AGAINST OBAMA.

Case filed in the Minnesota District Court

(Sinclair vs. Obama)

Plaintiff: Larry Sinclair

Defendant: Barack Obama, David Axelrod
and Democratic National Committee

Case Number: 0:2008cv00360

Filed: February 11, 2008

Court: Minnesota District Court

Office: DMN Office [ Court Info ]

County: St. Louis

Mr Sinclair says he had drugs and sex with Obama in 1999. He has tried to get the MSM to tell the story, they won't. So he made a Youtube video. Obama's people have been turning his life upside down since, and he has filed suit against Obama, his manager Axelrod and the DNC for violation of his civil rights.

And here is a long interview he did on Right Perspectivehttp://trp.fileburst.com/TRP_2008.02.08_Larry-Sinclair-Interview.mp3

David Axelrod the highly paid consultant, media strategist and manger to Obama is also known as the Carl Rove to Obama.

The first major profile of Axelrod appeared in a Chicago magazine in 1987. This was three years after he left a high profile job as the lead political reporter for The Chicago Tribune to work as a political operative. The article ("Hatchet Man: The Rise of David Axelrod") began by comparing him to an "exotic rodent."

Obamas hatchet man is earning every dime. How sick. What kind of dreams and hopes is this?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:43 PM on 02/22/2008

The NYT article just mentions that Axelrod gets a percentage of the 35 million media buys in addition to his salary and fees. He's in it for the money and if BO does get elected, some perks and a lot more business.

My dream and hope is that Republicans will one day be able to buy a pill that makes them smart, and improves their spelling, grammar, and research abilities. If this happens, I won't have to cringe in disbelief every time I read your typed drool.

"We didn"t raise all of this money to keep paying consultants who have pursued basically the wrong strategy for a year now," said a prominent New York donor. "So much about her campaign needs to change " but it may be too late."

The high-priced senior consultants to Mrs. Clinton, of New York, have emerged as particular targets of complaints, given that they conceived and executed a political strategy that has thus far proved unsuccessful.

The firm that includes Mark Penn, Mrs. Clinton"s chief strategist and pollster, and his team collected $3.8 million for fees and expenses in January; in total, including what the campaign still owes, the firm has billed more than $10 million for consulting, direct mail and other services, an amount other Democratic strategists who are not affiliated with either campaign called stunning.

Howard Wolfson, the communications director and a senior member of the advertising team, earned nearly $267,000 in January. His total, including the campaign"s debt to him, tops $730,000.

Absudly, it seems Hillary xeroxed TWO passages into her "majestic" closing remarks. Hillary actually said last night that we should watch Obama's "plagiarism" on Youtube. So to be fair, now let's watch TWO of hers that came mere minutes after her "Xerox" and Youtube comments:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=H60y8mHMpmU

My guess is her staff collects these xeroxes into grab bags and then forgets they are actually appropriated material. Sigh. I actually like Hillary. But this is too absurd! Indeed, it IS "Silly Season!"

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:07 PM on 02/22/2008

Yes, it's easy to call it "silly season" when referring to Hillary. But what is it called when Obama's headquarters were emailing CNN for almost live coverage of Hillary's words being much less the copy of Edwards than Obama's was of "his bud's"? Revenge season?

Hillary is FAMOUS for the daily barrage of email to reporters. Nothing new there.

As for her own "plagiarism"--I think the worst thing is how phony that "heartfelt" (but actually borrowed) closing made her seem.

She's spent $7,000 on voice and acting lessons and got her money's worth. But the emotional "closers" still need work.

Also, am I the only person in America offended by turning wounded veterans into objects of pity for political heartstring purposes? If Hillary REALLY felt RESPONSIBILITY and REMORSE for her part in CAUSING their suffering it would say a lot.

Unfortunately, she seems as detached from her role in this war and its affects as President Bush is.

Obama steals everything that is not tied down.
And if you want to see a interesting video go check out Larry Sinclair.

Why anyone would ever vote for Obama after seeing what he did with this guy, I have no idea.

It just came today that Obama out spent Hillary 5 to 1 in Wisconsin on ads. This 2008 election is the best Obama can buy. I can't image how he won there. I have no clue do you? A con buying an election just the way Bush did in 2000 and 2004. A perfect way for Obama to keep it all in the family.

Had hillary had the funds, she would have matched that. If she could afford to send flyers out in PA, she would...but can't. To somehow imply that Obama needs to curb his spending because Hillary is going broke would be silly...this is just one politcal barometer to help Americans judge for themselves who might have the edge when it comes to management and having the good judgement to choose advisors who will help rather than hinder him.

Obama is running the best campaign he can can buy. What a con artist. Just like Bush. Obama uses his ill gotten cash to spread lies. Being part of the Bush and Cheney family I guess lying and stealing other peoples ideas just comes naturally.

What about the good day? Obama is no Bush, Clinton or McCain. Get your facts str. Obama is running for Pres, that many of us will start understanding how we will get from America what is promised to Americans. He will restore America, obama will bring back out troops, work with the UHP that you may get benefits, He will deal with the issues of America in a dignified way. We won't have to worry about losing our homes, etc. We may not have chicken in every pot, but we will have enough chicken through out the week. Think about it. Hil has spent so much on Donuts, and parties, that she won't be able to pay the rent. Management of Money? Leave it to the new Pres, Obama. We can, yes we can in 08

A chicken in every pot means there is food on table for every family. I guess you are to young to understand. And your voting? or maybe you just don't care if there is food on table for everyones family? Which is it? It is people like you who don't care about the real problems millions and millions and millions of people face everyday in America. Obama has no answers but what do you care. Sickening.

And Obama is Bush. Obama is running on his cousins Bushes 2000 platform. You can't get more Bush than to be a thief again and steal someones platform. And a REP failed platform. I guess being a thief and a loser runs in the family.

Dignified? Obama? Go tell that to Larry Sinclair and Rezko they will laugh their butts off. Obama is a con. And that fact that your being conned, speaks volumes about you.

And people are going to be living on the streets if Obama sneaks into the WH. He doesn't know what the he!! he is doing. He has never faced adversity. Everyone kisses his butt. It is sick.

This is silly. They do need to eat. Lodging and food expenses are high but what is telling is that they are in debt, and they blew through $140 million. Let them spend $1 million in food, no big deal - but where did the other $139 million go? That's the big question.

Hillary's ongoing positioning of herself as a victim--ie, "with all I've been hit with" and her oft-repeated, "When people ask me how I do it..." -- shows what can only be a serious character flaw,;she consistently draws power from self-pity rather than self-awareness.

Try to imagine Joe Biden or Chris Dodd if either of them said "When people ask me how I do it..." There would be jeers and groans.

And now one of Hillary's main surrogates in Ohio is someone who refers to HRC as a "sacrificial lamb":

Marcia Pappas, Kennedy-Basher, Heads to Ohio for Clinton

Marcia Pappas, the outspoken activist who called Ted Kennedy"s endorsement of Barack Obama a "betrayal" to women, is heading to Ohio Wednesday to campaign for Hillary Clinton.

Pappas, the president of the National Organization for Women-New York State, said her past comments won"t be an issue.

"Certainly what I said drew attention temporarily, but I don"t think that it takes away from Hillary Clinton"s campaign. What we try to do is bring attention to the issues that affect women and via Hilary being the sacrificial lamb at this point in history, we certainly have been able to talk about sexism in a way that we have not been able to talk about it before. And it"s been brought out to the forefront due to the fact that I spoke out so vehemently against Kennedy"s endorsement of Obama."

Why do you hate women so much?

Hillary is not a victim. But you are of Obamas cult. Take you brain back before it is to late.
