A Polite, But Heated Beginning To The Kitchen Sink Debate

If you were expecting the last (hopefully) debate to begin with the unleashing of hell, Gladiator-style, it didn't quite happen. Proper decorum is, so far, being observed. Which isn't to say that MSNBC didn't try to set it off! The debate began with the juxtaposition of Clinton's conciliatory closing remarks at the Texas debate with her angry reaction to Obama's Ohio mailer. But Clinton did not rise to the bait, and the kitchen sink stayed safely connected to the plumbing.

Clinton and Obama instead engaged in a pretty hard-hitting debate over the differences in their health care plans, and the strong disagreements the two have shown throughout the debate continued. One matter that has been officially put to bed, however, is the issue of the photo of Obama in African garb that ran on the Drudge Report this week. Clinton said that, as far as she knew, the photo did not come from her campaign, adding that if evidence surfaced that fingered a member of her team, that person would be dismissed from the campaign. Obama agreed to take Clinton at her word, and suggested that the issue be dropped.

I had a dream the night of the debate. I was in a meeting with Obama and I happened to notice his shoes. He was wearing beautiful Italian leather shoes. I commented on how nice they were and he gave them to me. As I admired the style and feel of the shoe I noticed, to my dismay, how incredibly small they were. I looked at this man who I find to be intellegent and engaging and I was so suprised that although his feet were dressed to impress they were small and ultimately disappointing. This dream could be open to interpetation in many ways but the feeling it left me with is this. Is he all style and no substance. This election had the potential to be one that would bring forth a new and exciting leader who would have brought real change ( pardon the over used catch phase) but instead we were given a choice of a man of style and charm and no substance. A women who epitimizes the stereotypes we've been trying so hard to over come, and an old man whos patriotism is unwavered but his time has come and gone and he's now thrown his trademark intregrity aside to cater to the base of his party. We have 160 thousand troops in Iraq, my son being one, who need us to bring them a hero but our choices are weak, shrill and old. Where is their hero. Oh yes I remember, we passed him up. Come back Joe Biden. You gave up too soon.

I looked around and while there was a copy of this photo on the web for some time in connection with his trip to Kenya in 2006, I found a more mischievous, well-timed copy of the photo scanned on February 23 and posted to a the very heavily-attended Free Republic, whose activists are proudly prone to mischief with online polls and other "PR" tricks. The posting was made to the forum and commented on, a day before Drudge reported receiving an email about the photo.

It is far more likely that this was the subject of much emailing by readers of that forum and their friends, and they are proud of 'Freeping'
polls, etc. This way, two birds with one stone.

Details of what I discovered are at http://andrys1.blogspot.com

I wouldn't take Drudge's word about who sent that email when my memory of it was that he said he had "acquired" a copy of it when he first posted the story.

The road to Denver is still very slippery for your idol Barack Obama.

Tomorrow is pregnant.

That Sinking Feeling...

Hillary behaves like an adult during the debate, but will we see this civil behavior or the "ad hominest" on the trail?

No one accuses Barack thus: "Which Barack will show up?" Why? Because he is consistent. Why? Because he's himself, all the time. He's not a persona. Not not a manufactured, created presentation.

Hillary just doesn't hold up well next to this genuine article. (she's smart, sure, but even she is rapt when he speaks...) Hell, he has a humility that, in 26 years in DC I've never seen: he says things like "there's an ego component to running" and "Hillary's plan is a good one." My god. Who else--including Hillary--says such things. Further: In YOUR lifetime, who has been so humble? Who? It's an open question. After about many dozens of posts, I've never gotten a response.

THAT'S CALLED HUMILITY. Folks: Honestly, do you know of anyone who offers than kind of transparency, where they admit what you're actually seeing? It's not a feint, it's honesty.

It's not a dodge, it's honesty.

Really. It's not koolaid. Why is it so hard to believe that it's humble, human, honesty?

?

Anyone who believes Drudge deserves to be lied to.

That sounds a lot like when bush said if he found anyone in his administration to have broken the law in the Valerie Plame case that they would be deal with or whatever he said.

If they do things that she "disagrees with" she would ask them to leave?

LIAR. Either she agrees, and claim she doesn't, or she doesn't and does little.

This was not the Hillary camp that did this one and there is no proof, it was from the republicans. That REPUBLICAN SLEEZEBAG Matt Drudge just pulled the race card against Barack and blamed Hillary. Obama has pretty much won the nomination so everybody better get ready for the republican right wing slime machine. Just a few examples:
1. republican talk show host in Dallas referring to Obama as Barack Hussein Obama evetyday
2. republican Ann Coulter referring to Obama as Hussein Obama
3. Rrepublican talk show host Michael Medved accusing Obama of being a fan of Lewis Farrakan
4. republican Sean Hannity accusing Obama as being a fan of Lewis Farrakan
5. republican from Georgia on Real Time show referring to Obama as Hussein

This is a strategic effort on the part of Drudge and the republican party to pull out the muslim card against Obama but it won't work, he will crush McCain.
