Larry Craig Looks For Summer Interns

Idaho Senator Larry Craig, arrested last August in a Minnesota airport for lewd conduct, is looking for interns. And the deadline for any and all college kids interested is fast approaching.

Today his office sent out a press release and posted the listing on his government website:

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Idaho Senator Larry Craig is currently seeking intern applications for the summer term, which runs from May to August. The application deadline is March 15, however if more time is needed for the application process, please contact Senator Craig's office for an extension. Craig offers paid internships within the Washington, D.C., office. Preference is given to Idaho applicants attending Idaho schools who are in their junior or senior years of college (including graduating seniors).

'"Interns have the chance to be an essential part of a working congressional office," said Craig. "They participate in the legislative process as well as ensure that constituent services run smoothly. For those interested in politics, it is an incredible opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at how our government functions while serving the people of Idaho."

Interns are paired with staff members based on experience and interests, in order to best utilize their talents. They are also expected to fulfill some administrative duties such as answering phones, sorting mail and greeting constituents.

Applications and more information about the internship program are available on Craig's website at http://craig.senate.gov/internships.cfm or at any of Craig's six regional offices in Coeur d'Alene, Lewiston, Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello and Idaho Falls. It is recommended that applications be delivered personally to the regional offices or sent via fax to [phone]. Closeted gays seem to be a problem in American politics, particularly for the Republicans. It's all very well to take a wide stance, but it's incredibly stupid to take a political and public stance that's narrow minded and bigoted when you're lurking around public restrooms all across America tapping your toes. Craig's problem is one of inauthenticity. He's lying to himself, his family and to his voters. Hypocrisy is the hallmark of Republicans.

Larry Grig’s problem is that he is a closeted gay man, this a problem with many conservative Republicans who take a wide stance, or fool around with call girls and wear diapers or text message teenage boys, and than run around with their sack cloths and ashes preaching family values and pushing Constitutional amendments denying basic civil rights to 8% of the population. If any politician in Washington even commented on some of the stuff that Israel gets a pass on like destroying a UN observation post, flying a UN flag, killing the troops of 3 nation and giving some bullshit excuse like there was rocket launcher behind it, they would be attacked as anti-Semitic, the most damaging words in American politics more so than racism, which seems to be fair game for the wing-nuts these days, as Obama will find out.

No one gave a dam about what the Brits and Irish Protestants were doing to the Irish Catholics until the Clinton Administration took on the issue with Blair. Yet Catholics of Irish ancestry are one of the largest most educated constituencies in this country. One of my brother-laws is a conservative Brit who actually said me a 2nd generation Irish Catholic, that the Irish scum should be rounded up put in concentration camps, I was so shocked I did not know how to react, I wanted to smash his face in, but cooler heads prevailed. My wife who is of Irish ancestry herself convinced me to let it go since he a few drinks in him, I never get that out control. This guy actually insulted his own wife and her family not to mention myself.

The point I’m making there are many minority groups in this county and some have clout disproportional to their numbers, yet others like Gays which are a rather large, well educated segment of the population are fare game for holier than thou politicians, ministers and wing-nut talkers, who are in the closet themselves the hypocrisy of which stinks. People like Larry Craig and Ted Haggard paint the targets on their own backs.
