Prince Harry Returns

Prince Harry touched down in Britain on Saturday after a stint in Afghanistan as a soldier was cut short when details of his secret deployment were disclosed by a magazine and Web sites.

Defense ministry officials said Harry -- who served 10 weeks -- was due to be greeted by his father, Prince Charles, and brother, Prince William, at the Brize Norton air base in Oxfordshire, southern England.

Harry's fellow soldiers from the Household Cavalry unit are due to return back to the U.K. in April at the end of their near-six month tour, defense officials said.

Harry, a cornet -- or second lieutenant -- arrived at the base in a Royal Air Force troop carrier with dozens of other soldiers. The soldier prince chatted to a colleague as he walked down the aircraft's steps and headed to a terminal building.

I just find this whole thing sad that the prince was outed by a right wing blogger.

I was impressed for the fact he even WENT there. I am not an Anglophile and I hate the inbred chinless Windsors. But this kid obviously inherited guts from his mother's DNA.

The problem with Trolls is they cant stand the truth that the leaders of the GOP are all gutless cowards. The only way they can deal with this is to toss crap on Harry, to denigrate him, make him look bad. Its obvious to the rest of the world that this kid he already has more balls than all the Bush administration put together and THATS what pisses off the Trolls. Even Craig Ferguson would have to give this Windsor some credit.

American leadership has not had any guts since Ike or JFK. Remember, the GOP mocks ALL veterans, especially those who see through their phony patriotism. Now Drudge is SWIFTBOATING the Windsors. Jesus, what next?

Send Drudge to Kenya. Naw, to Borneo. Maybe headhunters will eat him. Never mind, Drudge is too freaking ugly to eat.

hey you putz, henry's grandfather, and his uncle served with distinction in the royal navy during WW2, also his uncle Andrew flew combat missions in the Falklands. In fact the Windsors have a long tradition of service in the royal navy going back almost two hundred years. More than you can say for Chlesea, or the Bush twins, not to mention the Romney boys.

Bravo for Harry. Nice to see even Royals walk the walk, not just talk the talk. Too bad our president, vice president, sec. of state, senators don't do the same. Its a disgrace that Bush et all allow so many innocent men and women to die, yet wont put his bratty princess in to fight. What is she too good to do it? Might break a nail, ruin her designer dress or shoes? I tried to enlist was too old, had too many medical issues that kept me out. My uncles all served, my father served, they were not too good for it.
Once again the royals show us up. Is it any wonder why the US is a laughing stock with Bush and Cheney at the helm? Harry and his father, brother have all served thier country, in this war. Our own leader was too much the coward. Daddy had to buy his way out of it. Its even more piggish to have to read about Bush's daughter and her piggy behavior, when so many are losing life and limb, houses, healthcare, food, clothing, education. its not only a disgrace on one level, its a disgrace on many levels. Such a winning example they have set for that family. Harry, your mother would be so proud of you. Keep up the good work and god bless you and the queen.

Can Drudge go away now? He's irrelevant. At least when Geraldo did it, it was out of stupidity. This guy is just a jackass.

I really wish Buckingham Palace would make a statement about Matt Drudge. His recklessness obviously put this young man and his mates in harms way. If the Sun and the Mirror can keep shut when asked by the Palace and Drudge cannot, it shows he is among the lowest of the low and has no respect for the allies serving with the U. S.

Good point. It says something that the Brit press -- even the most titilatingly perverse tabloids -- can exercise discretion -- but not craptastic Sludge.

Drudge should be made to take his place.
I know that is a pipe dream ,and he would probably get some poor innocent killed.
Maybe make him serve in Gitmo....naw he would enjoy that.

A " Prince" is an idea the American Revolution fought to prevent. If Mr. Windsor wants the honor of wearing an American Flag, first he should show the courage to reject the " Prince" elitism , disavow all association with the " Royal " Family , forget Press leaks to insure a short -just- long- enough to say he was there 10 week stint , and THEN go serve as a grunt until the War's over. They pulled him out because someone would actually try to shoot back & the Royals were afraid if he were caught he would be tortured like the prisoners at Abu Ghraib. The purpose of the paparazzi coverage of Harry is to divert attention away from the Bank of England, the Federal Reserve, British Petroleum, and the real reason the War continues, to ensure profits from the stolen Oil.

From an American perspective, I dont argue your last comments. The facts remain the same, regardless of how long he was there, or where he was placed. The fact remains he didn't wimp out and say, can't cut it, I am outta here. To the contrary, he wanted to go, felt it was right for him to serve, more than likely would have stayed longer if death trheats hadn't cut it short. It would have put him, his entire country, and americans at grave risk had he stayed. He did the right thing. ' he has nothing to be ashamed of, much to be proud of. Our own leader in the US doesn't have an ounce of decency in him, insists on allowing this blood bath to continue for hs own greed. he is nowhere in the same league as the royals. They may also be in it for the oil, but at least they had the common sense to send thier own and not keep them away. It shows valor, integrity, hummanity. Bush will never posses that, nor his family. I stand by my comments.

Thank you for the laugh of the day. Are you an expat Brit living in America? If not,I can't for the life
of me understand your disrepectful tone toward the British Royal family. You say that the "Prince"
should disavow his association with the "Royal" Family, why on earth would he want to do that?
He was born into this family, the same as you were born into your's.He doesn't seem unhappy with who he is..

Your conspiracy theory about why and how long he served it pure nonsence. as a naturalized Brit,
I take offense at your mud slinging and urge you to reserch a little more before you blast off. For
your information about 78% of Brits still think highly of the Royal Family and would laugh in your
face.

He showed he has courage already. Drudge outted him, not his own country's media. They were content to exercise discretion. They did not want the kid's death on their heads. Not so Drudge. Whatever your view of the war or of British motives, give the kid some credit and be a human being, will ya?

I'm glad Harry is safe, no thanks to Sludge. There is a lot of good Harry and William can do. I hope they both get their chances. Just putting the Bushies to shame is a good start.

Exactly what good have either of these guys done? Both of them so far have given us the male equivalent of the Hilton sisters.

I take issue with that. They are good guys, who have done much to raise awareness for thier mothers' causes. They could have turned thier backs on them, waved the Italian salute, and become pigs. Don't blame them for how thier familes raised them or behaved before them. Had thier mother lived, you would have seen an end to this land mine problem. They kiilled her as she was speaking out, silencing her would guarantee the war to continue. It was no accident thier mom was killed. But still they fight to keep her memory alive, her causes alive, which is a hell of a lot more than Bush's pigs have done.

Typical biased ignorant Yank! What good have Prince William & Prince Harry done? For starters, they are both serving in the Armed Forces, something they wanted to do. Prince Harry wanted to serve with "his men" on the front lines, and would be there now if some stupid wanker hadn't risked his safety and that of his fellow soldiers to make a buck!
William volunteered in Chile with Raleigh International during his "gap year" (look it up) and Harry helped to build orphanages and hospitals in Africa, focusing mostly on the plight of children orphaned by AIDS. Both are patrons of charities, and have expressed interest in continuing their mother's work.
A far cry from the vapid Hilton sisters, who specialize in partying and breaking the law!!

I await breathlessly as you, thegreatgiginthesky, regale us all with stories of YOUR volunteer work, your work in other countries with the homeless and impoverished, war refugees, and victims of AIDS. What do YOU do that you can sneer at the WIndsors and their charity work, eh?

Bravo Harry.

He makes the lame Bush twins look like the margarita sucking party girls, why should I have to fight, privileged little Texan debutantes who are really just a chip off the ol' block like little barely could make it though Air Guard Shrub they really are.

Geez Drudge should be drawn and quartered for exposing the Prince's military duty, not only endangering the Prince and his fellow servicemen and women, but also robbing a smart, dedicated principled young man from an important right of passage and duty to his country.

Send Drudge to Guantanamo, NOPE send him to Helmand province for some real on the ground reporting!

Prince Harry was there in battle dress, just as elgible to be shot or blown up as any other soldier on any unlucky day.
Something for the vitrolic types, snug in their smelly little cubicle to compare to.

Of course your ever day, run-of-the-mill, below average BUSHY hates Prince Harry.
Every time they see Prince Harry risking his life to serve his country it reminds them that our own Royal Texas Family doesn't have one child serving in the GOP's ‘Global War on Terror’ and that Jenna's fiancé isn’t serving either...or that of all the republican politicians in Washington only one has a kid serving in their ‘Global War on Terror!’

Prince Harry is a daily reminder to the un-American GOP that while they LOVE, LOVE, LOVE guns and WAR, they hide when someone shoots back!

If you support AWOL Bush but still haven't enlisted...you are a KKKoward!

Yep, he puts to shame all the chickenhawks and their Bu$hit. The British royal family, whatever their faults, at least attempt to serve, including Prince Andrew and now Harry. Bushies attempt to be even more royally privileged -- because they forgot all about DUTY. It's something other people do for them, they think.

They are not giving Drudge a pass"
farther down:
"To: Squantos
I saw the interviews he gave in afghanistan. TV & PRESS . If he was trying to keep a low profile he did a really crap job of it.......
Good on him for serving yet he has to understand the press is never to be trusted..........NEVER !

If I'm not mistaken, those interviews were done with the agreement that they would not be aired/printed until after Harry's scheduled completion of Afghani duty in April. The so-called Main-Stream-Media had been keeping their part of the bargain, which was in essence 'you keep mum until he's finished his tour there ... and as a reward, you'll get exclusive access.' "

To: LiberConservative

When the Australian and German media put out the ‘rumor’ that the prince was serving overseas, it was not treated as ‘truth.’ When Drudge put the word out, it went worldwide. This is sad that what Drudge does so well is not to exercize some self-discipline. The prince was doing what he should be doing. Drudge did not care about the prince’s life or the lives of other soldiers around the prince. Drudge got the scoop and won another little gold star in his record. A muckraker exposes what is evil, bad, and corrupt in order to improve things. Not so with Drudge.

To: Prussian Koenig

You made a good point there. It’s unfortunate that Drudge has no integrity.

Harry was truly outed by Matt Drudge - one of FR's favorite lionized 'pajamahadeen' bloggers, who of course wasn't 'in on' the agreement. IMHO, this is an example of one of the potential downsides to 'alternative news'."

Kind of makes you wonder why the princes of our own Texas Royal Family never fought for thier country doesn't it?

If you mean Boy George, he was never a Royal Texan. He's not even a Texan except for political reasons. He's a born-again-cowboy who can't even ride a horse. Anybody ever seen him on a horse? The Texas rancher Bush was all Karl Rove's stage crafting to make him look manly.

Really makes the "Royal American Family" look so "macho" - can we get Turdblossom's kid or Par-tee Twin's Squeeze, or even Rommi's Runts into uniforn to help find Warren Tarra?

Drudge would never expose Gannons WH "overnights", or any WH Queen's adventures, but a "Prince" is fair game . . . atleast he wasn't a CIA asset . . . .
