If the 'Muslim thing' were a real issue, we would hear more about Hillary's long-time personal aide being a Muslim; and living most of her life in Saudi Arabia

Anybody with a brain knows that it takes true kindness in thought to be able to come up with Obama's profound speeches and sayings. How many people you met have such profound inspiration? Someone like him, with great wisdom, compassion, and moral courage may come once in a life time, enough for Hillary and the Republicans to envy and smear.

The Clintons really are racist sc*mbags.

How can democrats spread lies that seems right out of Limbaugh radio show?

That is just disgusting. Those crooks are ready to do everything to win.

Pictures of Obama in a turban, and with his face four shades darker don't just appear out of thim air. Add that to all the media "slip-ups" including talking about Obama with Osama in the background, and I start thinking somebody might be up to something.

Here in the Ozarks, in a town of about 28,000, a town packed with retirees from Illinois, a man I didn't know asked me what was that name on my car, the bumper sticker, he'd never heard of "Ku-cin-ich"...but he absolutely agreed with my other bumper sticker which says "Support our Troops / Impeach Our President". And THEN you know what he said?! He said "That one candidate, that Obama, he's a close relative of Osama bin Ladin or Saddam Hussein, one of the two." This is a VOTER talking. What to do? I shook my head in disbelief, saying, "That's just a rumor the Republicans hope you'll believe." The man didn't act like he was buying it. *sigh*

That was a very good response.

I'm an Obama supporter, let me get that out there--but I think the man's confusion must have come from Barack's distant relation, Dick Cheney.

Unfortunately, this is Hillary's constituency as well as John McCain's.

That's not quite true. It's a little irritating to have people lumping all Republicans in with Hilary's camp. I'm a conservative, so I won't be voting for either Obama or Clinton in the fall, but I certainly don't buy into or support the smear campaing against Obama either. It's dirty politics, no matter who's behind it.

I have to say that I was happy to finally hear Obama say "it's also offensive to Muslims" rather than just denying that he is a Muslim. I would love to hear him say, "so what if I was a Muslim, what difference would that make"?

Hear hear!

And, "It's none of your business. In this country religion is separate from government and is everyone's private choice."

And, "There is no religious test for office, the Constitution says so."

To those individuals that are asking about Obama being a newcomer, I'd like to remind you that we all have the opportunity born as American citizens to run for the highest office in the land. It may seem like a fairy tale to some, however, I remember being a young person back in the day and everyone either wanting to be President, a fireman, a doctor or policeman. No one has the right to enter politics and treat it like a civil servant job. What's equally irritating and sadly humorous here is that many don't remember the 2 years after the Clinton's were in office; the time when the country was in such dissarray that the Republicans re-took the Congress and we got absolutely nothing accomplished in this country. I was pro-Clinton; the antics, and bad memories of their prior years in office and the horror thoughts of vendetta's and scores to settle actually are what push me towards Obama. The ideas of a fresh and potentially unaffected individual without deep relative relationships to the Washington elite and ususal suspects sounds like a fresh cup of coffee to me, not the stale cup of coffee with the expresso shot I don't need that Billary brings to the White House. I congratulate the Clintons on figuring out a way to try and endrun the 22nd Amendment, but I'm tired of them, their politics and everything to do with all of the things created by Nixon, Reagan and the 70's, 80's and 90's that speak to things like HMOs, an outrageous HIV/AIDS epidemic, Whitewater, Lewinsky...all of it sucks and the Clinton's have a hand in it. I'm not intersested in John McCain's 100 year war or his maverick label...they're all a bunch of tools and I think Obama has less toolage than the rest. He'll have a hard enough time trying to make government transparent...which is probably the #1 reason I'm voting for him. We need to start reading about what they're doing in Washingon every day that trickles down and affects our lives. 100 year wars and jobs going to China (which has really little to do with NAFTA and more to do with corporations getting tax breaks, under the Clinton and Bush administrations. I want something for my grandkids to love about this country, other than being just free....we worked hard and I'd like to see some of the benefits of that hard work before the depression throws us all into bankruptcy.

Hallelujah! What I still don't understand is why everyone keeps referring to Mrs. Clinton's experience in conjunction with her husbands. My husband has been in construction for over 20 years but you sure don't want to live in a house that I build for you! As for experience gained in congress, if that is the ruler we should be using, then let's all vote for McCain. As Chair of Armed Services wouldn't he have been gaining experience in getting the call at 3AM before either of the other two? On the other hand, the longer that you are in Congress the more special interest groups you make promises to in order to stay there, in which case, let's all vote for Mr. Obama. Poor Mrs. Clinton suffers from comparision in that she is stuck in the middle. Their are a great many of us who are just tired of dynastic politics in America and are just ready for something new- something not Bush... something not Clinton.

Sudan said, "here is Osama, where would you like to pick him up?" His relatives sit on a board with the "bushwhackers". Why haven't we done something about it? Money makes it OK, huh? Going all the way back to WW2 and Nazi Germany. Where there's money to be made in killing, suffering, misery, this century supplies us with a continuous name. Silverado Savings bail-out ring any bells at all? How about Iran-Contra-cocaine. I was not in the loop? No? My good friends the Saudi's. Were you asleep the whole time? The USS Liberty? A clear case of mistaken identity. Maybe the University of Ohio has some old Compy's lying around that they could donate to the bars where the stories get circulated about Obama and his pact with perverted catholic enablers of pedophilia. What does christianity look like to people in Ohio? Where's your sign?

Highly probable "ignorance" is not this guy's problem. Highly likely anyone who buys the Obama/Muslim bull is a Conservative Without Conscience, aka authoritarian personality. (book by John Dean)

All my closest family fall into this population group. All high school graduates, two teaching credentialed college grads, one master's degree. Believe me, they are not capable of dealing with facts that interfere with their received mindset. Even logical thinking taking their delusional reality as a starting point, and attempting to unravel self-contradictions, is fruitless.

My question is, why should 60 Minutes make a big deal of this guy? Even on the surface, the Obama/Muslim fairy tale is clearly intended for an audience that wouldn't vote for him if he sprouted glowing wings, etc.

I don't think Hillary at fault here, especially considering pitfall built into the question that, after all, it should be OK to be Muslim, or whatever, in this country, anyway. But that can't be said, and she didn't, because then it would sound like she WAS supporting the idea Obama is a Muslim!

Bad on 60 Minutes.

Ike was a graduate of, and then later, Provost at Columbia U.
Obama is a Graduate of Columbia U.
Just thought you'd like to know

This kind of thinking is not exclusive to right wingnuts, although they have perfected it. Many uneducated people both repub and dems have no tolerance for people who are different from themselves. I chalk it up to ignorance mainly and sometimes people are raised that way and never think of a reason to change.
I think Hillary is very definitely at fault. She sent the picture of Obama in Africa to Drudge because she knew that her constituency would misinterpret it. She deliberately sent out _false_ emails about Obama at the last minute in NH and I have no doubt that she is behind 90% or more of the rumor and innuendo circulating about him recently. She's lost me for good, no matter who's the nominee.

I beg your pardon----------I believe any thing about Hillary clinton and what she will do to get this election. She went into the homes of ohio and Texas voters with her fear tactics just like George Bush. This is not a party of George Bush. Were sick of him ruleing by fear, and doing against america from fear. At this point I'm ashamed when a Demacrate can only win by scareing people into voteing for her. She ldid not debunk the muslim statements, and hem hawed around it when she was asked about it. Yes , I believe this woman will do anything to win this election. OUR COUNTRY SEEMS TO BE ONLY ABLE TO VOTE FOR FEAR. WE CAN NEVER VOTE FOR CLEAN, FAIR, TRANSFARENT,CALM LEADERS. AS AMERICANS, WE'VE BEEN RULED BY FEAR FOR SO MANY YEARS-----------------IT'S NO WONDER OTHER COUNTRIES SEE US AS A THREAT---------AND BELIEVES WE WILL BOMB THEM. WE'VE ALLOWED PEOPLE LIKE HILLARY CLINTON PLAY THIS FEAR GAME WITH US AND THE WHOLE WORLD. THIS IS HOW BUSH GOT US INTO THIS WAR IN IRAQ----HOW HE GOT HILLARY TO AGREE TO IT--------------HOW SHE IS NOW DOING THE SAME THING TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. IT'S TIME TO TAKE AMERICA BACK PEOPLE WHO THINKS FEAR TACTICS LIKE THE CLINTONS PLAY IS SAFE AN JUST FOR OUR WORLD. IT IS NOT! IT'S TIME WE TELL THEM, THE ONLY REASON YOU WON IN OHIO AND TEXAS IS YOU THREW THE FEAR OF NUCLEAR HAULACAUST INTO THIER HOMES AND THIER CHILDREN DREAMS.Shame on You Hillary Clinlton! and shame on texas and Ohio for fallilng for it once again!

Really the guy they showed was a bigot. He was crying because he could not recouncil his heart and his head. He liked Obama's ideas about change but he just couldn't get past the bigotry that lives in his mind. His wife is suffering and has little or no healt care but he is concerned about does Obama know the pledge of allegaince. He is more concerned about what religion Obama is then following his heart for what is right. After the Nazis lost world war 2 Ike made all the townfolk walk thru the camps to see what they let go on in their name. Every American should be shown that that guy with tears rolling down his cheeks not able to free himself from the ugly head of a bigot. Sad very sad.

I watched C-SPAN one morning as someone called in and made these charges and all the moderator did is say to the person "why should his being a Muslim matter?" He didn't clarify that Obama is not a Muslim. C-SPAN is worthless in clarifying this stuff.

Unfortunately, the past 50 years has seen the great dumbing-down of America, because it is much easier to persuade a stupid person to vote your way than an intelligent one. Gone are the days when Life and Look could publish intelligent articles on scientific breakthroughs and cultural developments for the general public. Instead, we are being fed a steady diet of Britney, Paris and Nicole. It is to the benefit of the powers that be to develop an army of stupid clones than a country of intelligent, educated people. Instead of teaching children to think for themselves, teachers are teaching children how to take No Child Left Behind tests or lose tax dollars!

Open Letter to Sen. Barack Obama from a Concerned US Citizen Page 1 of 2

Can You Promise Us That The US will Not Engage in Any Pre-Emptive Attacks Against Iran During Your Presidency if you Become President?

Dear Sen Obama,

Why did the politically controversial Zbigniew Brzezinski (ZB) , the former advisor to president Jimmy Carter endorse you last summer for president?

Why did you select Brzezinski to serve as one of several foreign policy advisors for you?

Wasn't ZB one of main people responsible for convincing the US govt to arm the mujaheddin.

They say that you can tell which direction a president will take the country in based upon the people he /she surrounds themself with.

Sen. Obama, will the US ever consider pre-emptive action against Iran or any other country under your presidency?

My concern is that I do not want my country to participate in another pre-emptive war in the future-Iraq was enough.

Let me explain why I say this.
According to some historians, it was Brzezinski"s misguided actions (during the 1960"s and "70"s in Afghanistan/Soviet Union conflict) that led to the present day military strength buildup of Osama Bin Ladin"s (and others") terrorist groups.
I am a little worried about what is written in a book ZB wrote 1997 " The Grand Chessboard" where he is advocating the fact that we may have to get ourselves into a war with Iran if we want to maintain global primacy.

In the book, ZB explains how in order to protect America"s status as the last remaining super power on earth it would be necessary to invade and control key locations in the Middle East, particularly Iran. The book theorizes that America could be attacked by Afghan terrorists which would lead to our invasion of Afghanistan and ultimately control of Iran as a key strategic country to hold in the war for global supremacy. [Brzezinski, 1997] "

According to an entry contained in the publisher"s directory, "Former National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski published " The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy and Its Geostrategic Imperatives", in which (according to publisher Cooperative Research History Commons) he portrays the Eurasian landmass as the key to world power, and Central Asia with its vast oil reserves as the key to domination of Eurasia. He states that for the US to maintain its global primacy, it must prevent any possible adversary from controlling that region. He notes: "The attitude of the American public toward the external projection of American power has been much more ambivalent. The public supported America"s engagement in World War II largely because of the shock effect of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor." He predicts that because of popular resistance to US military expansionism, his ambitious Central Asian strategy can not be implemented, "except in the circumstance of a truly massive and widely perceived direct external threat." [Brzezinski, 1997, pp. 24-25, 210-11] The book also theorizes that the US could be attacked by Afghan terrorists, precipitating a US invasion of Afghanistan, and that the US may eventually seek control of Iran as a key strategic element in the US"s attempt to exert its influence in Central Asia and the Middle East. [Brzezinski, 1997]"

Sen. Obama, don't you think that as American citizens should have been a little better informed about ZB-considering his background?

I think that this is an important question. Perhaps if our corporate-owned media hadn"t made a three ring circus out of this election, then maybe the question would have come up during one of the debates.

So here we are, four months away from the Democratic National Convention. And ¦I still know very little about your planned foreign policy and if it includes a pre-emptive attack against Iran during your term in office.

This makes me very worried sir¦

Pre-emptive attack against Iran? God, talk about "conspiracy theories" you should not be allowed to print such fallacies specially when it goes on and on.

Well for that matter you don't know anything about Hillary's foreign policies. Don't you think you should have asked them both. She VISTED other countries, She did not have anything to do with Foreign policies. She was a 1st lady, not the president. Hillary did not even have a security clearance.

You obviously don't know much about ZB and most of your facts are wrong.

But, what is true is that ZB taught poli sci at Columbia U when Barack was at Columbia. I don't doubt that Barack took classes with ZB and was influenced.

You know of course that ZB was National Security Advisor under Carter and knows a thing or two about Iran and Iraq.

ZB is not an official advisor. He's just one of many Washington folk who is trying to make it seem that he has Obama's ear so he seems important.
