Living Lohan

From E!'s website:

The brood that birthed Lindsay is getting ready for a close-up of its own, with E! confirming, at long last, that mother Dina and kid sister Ali will be starring in their own reality show for the cable net, set to premiere this summer. (E! Online is a division of E! Entertainment Television.)

Living Lohan will follow the mother and slightly-less-famous daughter duo as 14-year-old Ali begins her ascent into stardom and attempts to follow in her superstar sibling's limelit footsteps.

The unscripted half-hour series will feature momager Dina as she does her best to strike a balance between family and career, helping her mini-me navigate the waters of budding stardom while doing her best to help the teen avoid some of the all-too-familiar negative trappings celebrity can often bring.

While the series will mainly revolve around the Lohan gals, Dina's sons, Cody and Michael, 11 and 20, respectively, will also appear in the show. The boys will not be joining in as much on the fame-seeking fun, however, as Cody's preoccupations lean more toward sports and homework than klieg lights, while Michael is an on-the-go college student.

Though the series will mostly be set around the Lohans' home base in Long Island, wherever Ali's increasing fame takes her, rest assured, the cameras will follow.

The series, which has already begun shooting, is set to chronicle the family's upcoming sojourn to Las Vegas' Palms Casino recording studio, where Ali is set to start work on a would-be solo album, a follow-up to her well-received Christmas compilation, for Interscope Records.

"This is a family that knows how to roll with the punches and come out on top," Lisa Berger, E!'s Executive VP of Series Development, said. "Dina is an incredibly hard-working, passionate mom that I think our viewers will find both relatable and highly entertaining."

No premiere date has yet been set for the series, though it is scheduled to hit the airwaves sometime this summer, along with the previously announced--and Ryan Seacrest-produced--reality show starring Denise Richards.

Forget the kid, Mom finally has herself a teeee veeee show. Face time.

As far as the program itself, it's E! TV. What else would make the schedule?

This is absolutely absurd. Couldn't E find some other Skank to build a show around? Dina Lohan is certainly at the very very bottom of the barrel. We really need a show centered around a narcisisstic hag pimping out her children in the industry.

Dina makes Lynn Spears & Paris' mom look like mom of the year. This fame whore would do anything to be in the public light and of course E channel will pick her up.

This news must have gotten Joel McHale's interest going. "Let's take some E!"

The next time some right-winger starts to rant on and on about immigrants 'pollutiing' American culture I'm going to point to reality TV and ask "What American culture?" I'm having some difficulty locating any culture worth saving these days.

Better yet, have Neilsen families log in their political and religious affiliation and see who is really making up the viewing audience of this trash and see how the right wing pundits, preachers and Fox Lunatics like their base... It's always amazing when the right wing conservatives bash "Hollywood" for the problem -- their base is part of the audience gobbling this stuff up, do they not have the responsiblity of having shit taste? And "Hollywood" IS America -- no matter what imaginary culture was the GOP pundits, O'Reilly and the rest of the moron menagerie want to preach to sell books, Hollywood is where people from all different backgrounds, from all different parts of the country (and world) come together to create movies, tv shows, etc... So to deny Hollywood is America is to be delusional. If Republicans so want to argue that it's about free market economy and the market dictates the price, they need to realize that the market dictates the product as well; this stuff sells, so it is produced. Take away an audience, remove the market, the product ceases to be created.

Another total waste of time. E should do a reality show about lindsey and air it during late night, bet they could sell alot more ads. Even if the ads are for Herpes cures.
