McClatchy:

A longtime protege of President Bush told former U.S. Attorney David Iglesias that he was fired for political reasons and that he shouldn't fight his ouster, Iglesias says in a new book.

"This is political," Iglesias recalls Texas U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton telling him shortly after he was ousted. "If I were you, I'd just go quietly."

Actually the two situations were and are entirely different. It is almost expected that an incoming president will replace federal prosecutors. It's done all the time. Bill Clinton did it.

What is NOT done is: to politicize the judiciary to the point that federal prosecutors are fired because there are so many investigations going on that involve the administration (Abramov-related, lying us into a war, to name two). The appearance that a prosecutor is fired because of their potential to embarrass the administration is a CRIME. Why do you think the shrub's aides have refused subpoenas? Executive priviledge my ass. The shrub wasn't involved. His aides were; ergo, NO executive priviledge exists.

But what could we expect from someone who probably thinks FOX is a news channel?

What a surprise. No one knew that the Bush administration would sink to this level. Is anyone shocked at this??

I wish he would have come right out and stated this before the committee when the sh#t was hitting the fan. It was the basis behind the entire investigation as opposed to the 'pleasure of the president' meme.

Karl Rove was never an elected official. He came by all the power he has by telling Georgie what moves to make, plus protecting him from any prying eyes. The man is a slug, doing anything to gain power, and ruining people's lives in the process. I hope I live long enough to see him punished for all his misdeeds. It just occured to me that this description also (with the exception of "elected" ) perfectly describes McCain. Old John is now licking boots to get into the WH. Some "hero" I lost all respect for him a long time ago.
