Pelosi Tells Obama, Clinton: Quit Yer Bickering

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged both leading Democratic presidential candidates to cease their bickering, warning that the escalating rhetoric could hurt the party's chances in November.

"I would encourage both of them, as I have, to remember we have to keep our eyes on the prize, which is the general election in November," Pelosi said Friday at a luncheon in New York sponsored by Lifetime Networks and the Hearst Corp., parent company of The Chronicle.

"We are all very passionate about our politics and the issues we believe in, but we have to be very dispassionate about how we approach winning. We have to lift the debate to a place that does not turn off the American people."

As if Pelosi has any influence, or even a spine. She's as irrelevant as George W. Bush these days.
With 75% of Americans behind her and the worst President in U.S. history in the White House, she still can't win a SINGLE FRIGGIN legislative battle.

Nancy, why don't you spend a little more time trying to keep YOUR house from caving on the telecom immunity bill and a little less time on Hillary's slimy campaign.

I don't know who I respect more: Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, or George W. Bush.

It isn't bickering when Obama defends himself from the vicious charges and innuendos of Swillary's campaign. Clinton thinks that she is appearing tough when she is really just obnoxious. She has confused the two.

After Clinton endorsed McCain over Obama, Nancy Pelosi should ask Swillary to leave the Democratic party. True Democrats would be better off.

Yeah all that nasty bickering. Nancy wants that off the table, too.

Oh god...two women in a week whining...SHAME ON YOU....well Shame on You Pelosi for enabling Bush. Before you start casting bricks in glass houses you should look at your culpability in this whole mess. Democrats would have a sense of stronger cohesion if you and Reid could actually get something done instead of cowering and caving to Bush's every whim.

Hey, if anyone sends feedback to Pelosi, let her and Dean know that I dumped the Democratic party after S.Carolina. The cowardice of the Democratic leadership in letting the Clintons do to the party what they've done to anyone else who trusted them was THE END for me.

Myabe Pelosi should shut up and start looking for a new job since Cindy Sheehan's going to kick her sorry ass out of Congress once and for all. And no Nancy, not even your megamillion dollar fortune or Inside the Beltway cronies will save you.

So both candidate are accusing the other of not being as good as they are. What a terrible thing. It has only been done in American politics since the 18th century.

If these guys can't take these little blows, they are going to wither under the full assault of the gop.

This thing could go on till Kingdom Come (or the convention in Denver, whichever comes first) if and only if Hillary stops being so negative and runs a decent campaign. She's just giving ammo for the Republicans in the fall election. Barack may have me (and others) fooled but I beleive he is trying his best to run a campaign best for the Democratic Party and America. Hillary is trying her best to run a campaign that is best for her.
If Hillary doesn't quickly get her act together for the good of the party and the nation, then I suggest the superdelegates get together and decide to vote for their choice by a certain close date, say next week or the end of March, so this thing ends. Otherwise it looks like Hillary is destroying the party to win. We can't let this happen!

hillary is the dirtiest politician in American history. It makes Nixon look like an honorable man.

Strange you didn't speak out a little sooner, Nancy!

Did somebody stand on the doormat and waken you up?

Ummmmm, Nancy, perhaps you should keep your eye on the prize and stand up to President Bush, stop caving and actually represent the people who elected you?

Ms Pelosi - your gutless impotence at ending the Iraq war is the #1 reason the Dems might not win. Once again you display lack of courage when you criticize Obama equally with Clinton for going negative. Clinton has been negative all along and gotten a pass from the party and the supposedly biased press as she tears the Dem party to pieces, so what reason does she have to stop if Obama gets blamed equally?

NOW she has gone so far as to ENDORSE McCAIN over Obama! This is Democratic party treason, unheard of, unforgivable! She has exposed once and for all that she puts her personal power over what is best for her party and the country. This should be grounds for banishment from the Democratic party, but once again you and other Democrats are too gutless to say so.

Shut up, Nancy. Your credibility is zero. You still have it in your power to win the next election for the Democrats by putting impeachment back on the table, and thus in the headlines.
You have the charges. War crimes, torture, illegal wiretapping, lying to Congress, failure to protect and defend the Constitution, criminal negligence (Katrina), cronyism and corruption.
You have the evidence. Hell, I have the evidence. The evidence is public knowledge.
You have the votes. Everybody here knows it only takes a simple majority in the House to bring the impeachment to the Senate, and you've got the votes to do that.
The only thing you don't have is the desire. So, just shut up, Nancy Pelosi. Your words mean nothing.

What exactly is Obama bickering about? She's been launching the "kitchen sink" at him, keeping alive the "He's a Muslim" thing, saying McCain is more qualified than him, throwing allegations of wrongdoing even though none has been found on Rezko, and the BS commander and chief threshold nonsense. He asked her to release her tax returns since leaving the White House, the list of donors to President Clinton's library, and her papers from her White House. Each of these are legitimate vetting procedures and will lend credence to her claims of experience. They are not personal attacks, and comparing him to Ken Starr is ridiculous hyperbole. She can't win with the math, so she'll take down the entire party with her. This way, if McCain wins and stinks as President (not to mention replaces the only left leaning justices on the Supreme Court in the next four years), she thinks she'll be this savior in 2012 and sweep in for the nomination, no matter the cost to our country or to the Democratic Party. I for one wish she'd focus her attacks on McCain, and stop acting out the fantasies of the right wing by bloodying up the presumptive Democratic candidate. If she doesn't, then she is a "Monster".
