Update:
NBC has denied Pagesix.com's report:

NBC and Jerry Seinfeld shot down a New York Post report Friday that the comic was in talks with the network about a new sitcom. The report, citing no sources, said Seinfeld would play himself in a New York series similar to "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

"There's nothing to it," said NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks.

Seinfeld's spokeswoman, Elizabeth Clark Zoia, also said the story was completely false.

Previously:
Sources tell PageSix.com that the 53-year-old comedian is in talks for a new series on his old net. The show is being pitched as "just like Curb Your Enthusiasm, but with Jerry, instead of Larry."

We guess it's better than a show about nothing!

The series, which is aiming for a June premiere, will be set in New York and will feature Jerry Seinfeld playing himself in an exaggerated reality. The whole thing is a bit confusing for us -- if Larry David in Curb was what would have happened had Seinfeld been called Costanza, what happens when Seinfeld goes Curb?

Thank goodness that as we speak, NBC is hiring people to answer these tough questions.

What else has Larry David been up to? Blogging

Look, just bring back the old Seinfeld as they all get out of jail. The show wasn't done, it could have gone on for several more seasons and after a long hiatus they have all changed enough in real time to make it plausible that jail terms kept them out of sight. Come on back Jerry, George, Elaine, Cramer, etc., etc.

Is it about an overrated comedien who is arrogant although he doesn't have much talent and is married to woman who steals recipies from other women and then tells everyone that "I don't have to lie because I'm rich and have too much going on in my life" because I don't think a sitcom about rich bullies is really that funny.

There's no worse idea than redoing a great idea that' was already done to perfection. The fans will come away disappointed and the non-fans will remain turned off. Its a lose-lose situation. Unless he comes up with something ENTIRELY out of left field, like (to pick something out of the air) doing a TV version of the Woody Allen movie 'Zelig'. Then we'd be sitting there watching with our mouths open in disbelief. But chances are only 2% that that's going to happen.

Maybe he can just get his wife to plagarize another script. Then they can both whine about it and insult the original author when they're caught.
