Don't worry President Hillary Clinton will pardon you Elliot. Who knows, she may know some other close supporter who spent time at the Emperor's club.

These are the people we elect to represent us. We must look like idiots to the world.

Also it seems people are missing a very important point about these cases. I feel the penalty for a politician should be greater that the average man. Reasons being, let say it wasn't the FBI that found out about this. What if it was some criminal organization? I mean the organization he was dealing with was criminal so what's to say they didn't give this information to someone less likely to release it to the public. We would have a politician that was owned by someone other than who we voted for. Spitzer, as many other politicians do, put himself in a very compromising position.

Why is it that in France, the president's new wife can state that monogamy is a drag AFTER the wedding and that is OK, but here in America politicians are expected to be faithful. Most politicians are corrupt, dishonest and hypocritical. So why would their wives expect them to be saints? It takes tremendous ego to be a politicians and lots of money. By the time the politician gets there he/she is vetted all right - a proven sophist for the most part.

The problem is the American people are too hung up with sexual morality which cannot be legislated and to little concerned about war profiteering and integrity in the financial system that underlies our society.

Isn't it more important that we decide if international law pertains in attacks on other countries, for example?

How about if the international system of finance collapses, or global warming destroys life as we know it? No, for my money, give Spitzer all the hookers he wants. He was one of the few who stood between Enron stealing your retirement and the crooks who were there to cash in. I say that we need hundreds or thousands of such men as Mr. Spitzer. The phony morality is just a cover for those who want to steal us blind. We must keep our eye on the ball. They are.
