Update: Ashley Dupre Nude pictures hit the web
Previously:
Saturday:
Ashley Dupre/Spitzer's "Kristen' has reportedly been given immunity in exchange for testimony.

The high-class hooker whose tryst with Eliot Spitzer brought down the governor has been given immunity to testify in the investigation of a worldwide prostitution ring.

More good news for Dupre as she has made hundreds of thousands of dollars, perhaps more, from the online sale of her song, is being courted by every press outlet in the world, and her father has spoken out:
"Everyone makes mistakes, and this was a very large mistake," the stonemason said. "I love her tremendously and support her, but I am just in so much shock right now."

Friday:
A new day with new details of "Kristen," the prostitute from Emperors Club VIP with whom then-Gov. Eliot Spitzer trysted.

From the NY Post:

The high-priced hooker at the center of Gov. Spitzer's sex scandal trysted with him several times before he was caught on a wiretap - but it was only during their last encounter that she realized the real identity of her john, sources said yesterday.

"Oh, my God! Do you know who this guy is?" a shocked Ashley Alexandra Dupre asked her bosses at the Emperors Club VIP escort service, a source said.

The comment came after her $4,300 meeting with Spitzer at a Washington hotel on Feb. 13...

"She's been hanging around the night-life scene for a few years," said one well-connected club source. "She's definitely a party girl. She was out four, five nights a week and was a staple. She danced on tables and had fun."

Steve Lewis writes that he and Kristen/Ashley have multiple friends, and he knows about her time with Diddy and vacations in St. Tropez:

A shortish, always tanned girl with a killer body, she was always rolling with ballers and always talking about her career in music. Indeed one doorman said the last couple times he had seen her she was rolling with P Diddy's crew. Friends who had "been" there said it all makes sense now, that apartment at the Landmark on 6th Ave., the trip to St. Tropez this summer, the vacations by private jet. She was shacked up with someone else famous this past summer. Two different people chuckled, but wouldn't give me more. There was that someone else in St. Tropez on a boat, I guess the one in the photo.

When around, she would be texting endlessly, looking to hang, then she'd be gone, "Off to Philly, to work on my music." Bubbly, not too bright, but lots of fun, with a million get rich ideas...a book, a concierge service, at 22 she has ambitions.

Newsday spoke with a stunned childhood friend of Kristen/Ashley:

"Honestly, I can't even fathom it," she said of her old friend's alleged involvement with Gov. Eliot Spitzer. "I mean, Little Ashley. It's like, is this really happening?" Growing up, Ashley, now 22, was a "good, good girl" who was a cheerleader in middle school, baby-sat for neighborhood kids, and liked to karaoke to pop tunes in her ribbon-decorated bedroom, Del Valle said.

"We'd sing Brandi and just stupid stuff like that," she recalled.

Other than "stupid typical parent stuff," Del Valle said her friend seemed to have a close relationship with her mother and stepfather. She had "a few flings with boys," but no serious boyfriends, she said.

Gawker has pictures and a new video link of her.

The New York Daily News claims she fell into prostitution soon after moving to New York from New Jersey:

Instead of record deals, she got an offer from a high-class prostitution ring called NY Confidential.

Jason Itzler claimed he met Dupré in the Gansevoort Hotel and she instantly caught his eye. Itzler said he gave the then-19-year-old his card and she called him two days later after visiting the NY Confidential Web site.

"She says, 'Hey, Jason ... I want to work for you.' When I caught my breath, I said, 'Do you know what I do?'" he claimed. "She's like, 'Yeah.' I said, 'Get over here.' "

He rechristened the Jersey-girl-turned-call-girl "Victoria," and she quickly became a favorite of the Confidential clientele - four years before she became $4,300 hooker "Kristen" and torpedoed Gov. Eliot Spitzer.

New York Magazine hears a rumbling she may be 32, not 22.

New pictures and video of her:

More here and here.

I am so sick of hearing about Gov. Spitzer’s Kristen. Her newfound celebrity is the embodiment of the way American culture has embraced hooker culture into the mainstream. The Ho-ification of America. There are so many examples of this: Stripper classes at your local gym, Hef’s show The Girls Next Door, and the current trend of pseudo-celebrities “accidentally” losing their sex tapes at strategic points in their career.
Considering that we have never seen her breasts or vagina, Kristin seems classier than most celebs.

Is she really so different from other party girls in nyc? In college, I actually had friends who were willing to sell their ivy league eggs to earn a couple bucks. Many of these girls would have jumped at the chance to have sex with rich political figures for money.

Basically, Kristin is less of a slut than so many people that aren’t actually WHORES. And that says something about us.

What is America coming too? A black candidate is being crucified because of words uttered not by him, but his minister ....and a white woman that commits a crime is offered a plyboy centerfold, a book deal and immunity. The man she committed the crime with might get off "scott free" Talk about a double standard for whites and blacks. Somthing is really rotten in Denmark.

Way to go America...it only took a week for the idiot-class in this country to make her even richer by downloading her music. Wow...yeah, nobody knew this was gonna happen, huh? This country just gets worse and worse.

OK Spitzer sneaked around and slept with a hooker. He resigned as governor. He's toast politically. That's the end of THAT story. Now I would like to know the details behind the investigation. On NPR I heard that the explanation at the DOJ was that there is software that monitors banking transactions and he shifted money in his accounts that raised suspicions from the software. There were no humans involved, right? But why is Spitzer the only one who has been caught in this way? And why coincidentally someone who is loathed by everyone on Wall St? And why now? Even Bush couldn't help but to act dumb and remark upon how strange the cosmos is that this story should be breaking now. When we look at this in the context of how former governor of Alabama Seligman is in the slammer on the trumped up charges, the way Alberto Gonzales used the DOJ as a Republican Gestapo, and that we still have an Attorney General who refuses to appoint special prosecutors to investigate felonies and it looks like there is a disturbing pattern here. I would like to find out about the guy who was peeking through the key hole...who sent him and why. There is something about this investigation that just doesn't pass the smell test.

Could someone supply the URL to Spitzer's article in the New York Times
the day before this story broke?
I'm wondering whether the financiers who hate Spitzer held this scandal
to time it to take the heat off THEIR scandal.

Once again the American media will immerse itself in the tintillating details like the length of Spitzer's pritzer and whether he likes it more doggie style than the missionary position. Countless hours hosted by idiotic talking heads will be wasted on this while good people die unnoticed in Americas endless war, millions go without insurance and our economic well being gets flushed down the tube by a mindless moron in Washington D.C. Truely America is paying the price for it's public stupidity and recklessness.

Legalize It! Then stop wasting bandwidth with gratuitous pictures and soft core porn that could be spent educating readers about issues that really matter. We've all seen boobies before....yawn.

Dear "Rule Of Law",
There is a profound disconnect between your chosen name and the ignorance expressed in your posting. If indeed, "We've all seen boobies before....yawn", then why pray tell would you be one of the many that have chosen to open this story rather than the Iraq war, the ongoing genocide in Tibet, the Clinton campaign, the Obama campaign, the McCain campaign, the bombings in Pakistan, the bombings in Iraq, the housing crisis, the over 105 recognized columnists at Huffington Post -- but you chose to open this story and ask for legalizing an industry that victimizes millions of women and children every year around the world because the use of bandwith cuts into your surfing the internet for "real issues". Forgive me, if I have to challenge that assertion, but having worked a 70 hour work week for years that requires me to do online research daily, I have not found pornographic imagery causing my academic or legal research to be inhibted or delayed in the least. You, sir/madame, are not simply evidence of the ignorance expressed in society today, but a disturbing and growing trend that this young woman also expresses - a pride in one's own lack of education, breeding, compassion for others, couth, or culture.

You are such a typical lawyer--why use 1 word then 100 will do...? Well, I can do that! First, this is not a court of law, though perhaps name calling is how you begin your presentations in court, just to set the right amicable tone? You just can't wait to assault me, and you seem to enjoy attacking that poor girl as well, judging her without knowing her. However, If you abuse me here, you will be abused in return, in spades! Fortunately, I won't need to, as most who read here will see that your attack underlines the weakness of your argument. As for challenging my assertion, you of course, load your case upfront, and then imply that it is somehow mine. The lack of reasoning in this sophistic trick, boggles; so no, you are not forgiven!

The reason I posted here is that as a veteran of the 60's movement I still see images of women used inappropriately to solicit the knee jerk reaction that corporate marketing has instilled in the public, and that objectification, that demeaning depersonalization--whether on HuffPo, which should really know better, or the Page 3 of the Sun--I find offensive and morally repugnant. Allowing women to be used in that way does more to destroy their years of hard work attaining equal footing in society than all the consensual sex acts between adults ever could. It infects the social mind, and creates a subtext or background noise that robs women of their dignity and power everywhere.

Now, you've made a half credible effort at stacking words against each other in a vain attempt at building a platform from which to talk over me and the issue. You've failed! Unlike you, I'm not here bragging about my line of work or advertising my services, which in the best circles is just not done and considered rather outre, don't you think? You've betrayed yourself, and your argument, with your judgmental, socially superior stance that places more value on education (in itself a good thing), and breeding--of all the outmoded, condescending and socially poisonous attitudes that should have died in the Victorian age--rather than on the value of humanity.

We are exposed, daily, to thousands of these images that should have no place in a truly liberal and mature society that has learned to accept its sexuality. It sets a national tone for all exchanges between men and women and therefore has a much greater deleterious effect on our culture. Americans labor beneath a blanket of sexual guilt woven from Puritan fibers. Let's admit that not all people are born with the same opportunities, and let's also admit that the way society looks at women plays a huge role in what opportunities are available to them. Legalizing and regulating prostitution would be a giant leap out of the darkness of repressive sexual politics and witch burning you engage in. We should be moving society toward a time when breasts aren't used to sell news stories and what Adults do is their own business, not that of the small town gossip. When that happens, an when readers can go to the HuffPo home page and not be bombarded by the manipulative prostitution of advertising, then we will really be able to focus on those issues you listed and become engaged in positive activism for the betterment of all society. Not just the "Well Bred!"

Yep, with a wink and a nod--almost like they can't help themselves. My point exactly! Though I fee sorry for her, in a way--it never ends well for these poor women when they get caught up in the Big Politics! So, if I were a Christian, I would do the 'christian" thing and reserve my judgment--condemn not, lest ye be condemned! Also, let's remember, it takes two.

Before Americans make this uneducated, unintelligent and amoral young woman into the next cultural icon (vis-à-vis Ms. Paris Hilton pornographic tape, or Ms. Pam Anderson pornographic tape) to make a fortune for not possessing the intelligence to realize that she was placing her life at risk, risking the lives of the partners and families of her clients, or that there was an inherent misogyny underlying the entire rap, street, VIP Escort culture that she was enamored with – but as she has so happily stated to the press she loves herself and does not think she has done anything wrong. And so, before this young woman adds yet another footnote to the growing list of why American culture is becoming a global laughingstock, there are some issues that need factual clarification:

First, over the past few days I have heard numerous “experts” repeatedly state the idea that prostitution is a victimless crime, that is wholly incorrect. From, The Lancet (Medical Journal) ; 359:1417-1422: “…prostitution is a significant global problem that has yet to receive appropriate medical and public health attention. Worldwide, an estimated 1 million children are forced into prostitution every year and the total number of prostituted children could be as high as 10 million. Inadequate data exist on the health problems faced by prostituted children, who are at high risk of infectious disease, pregnancy, mental illness, substance abuse, and violence. Child prostitution, like other forms of child sexual abuse, is not only a cause of death and high morbidity in millions of children, but also a gross violation of their rights and dignity.” There is a clear nexus between prostitution and violence against women and children.

Furthermore, hopefully in the matter involving Former Governor Spitzer and the young woman in question, both parties and any of their other partners took the necessary steps to utilize safe sex practices, but undoubtedly even those would not afford an absolute guarantee of protection for Mrs. Spitzer, or the partners of the other clients. To that end, those individuals (Mrs. Spitzer et al.) are clearly victims of both Former Governor Spitzer and the young woman and the management of VIP Escorts. And, I would hope that Mrs. Spitzer (a Harvard Law graduate) and the other effected families bring civil actions against this prostitute specifically and immediately to make certain that she does not benefit financially or in any other manner so that the message is clear that this is not a morality issue, this is a medical and criminal issue. The criminal issue is NOT prostitution, in that a transaction crossed state lines, the criminal issues is endangering the lives of others by reckless disregard – and the weapon is bodily fluids - the reckless disregard being a continuation of sexual activity with multiple partners with full knowledge that their spouses had no knowledge and no protection. There is a clear and convincing correlation between the incidents of HIV and STD infection, violence against women and children, and the prostitution and pornographic industry. This is by no means an advocacy for the ridiculous political agenda for stopping the teaching of safe sex practices in school, in fact, quite the contrary, we need to increase education, but we also need to increase penalties for men like Spitzer and women like this individual and especially the owners and operators of VIP Escorts.

It is also clear from the actions of the attorney that was recently hired by this young woman will be trying to “brand” her image and name – the attorney has been trying to make the case that she is not a “public figure” and that the press used her image and name without her consent. This prostitute has voluntarily made statements to the world wide internet, to the press, and told the world that she loves herself and does not think that she has done anything wrong – well I am certain that the families of the men she has slept with and those mentioned in the Lancet article above would beg to differ.
Unfortunately, the prosecution in America is as driven by publicity as any other industry and as such has offered this prostitute full immunity from any charges for her testimony – as such the only redress that the families as victims can obtain is civil judgement and they should move to do so immediately before she is allowed to start moving and establishing assets outside of the jurisdiction.

In the end, only individual Americans can decide what will happen in this story. If you purchase a product, book, or watch a television show endorsed by this young woman, then you are indeed part of the nexus that provides this industry the resources and reasoning to survive.

Dear "Rule Of Law",
'...get over myself", well sir/madame, thank you for your erudite direction, but as a practicing Christian, frankly, I find more humour in my existence than anything to ever be prideful about. And, in regards to the issue at hand, as part of a secular outreach program, I have worked in my free time with abused women and children for the past twenty years, and I have seen first hand the damage that is being done to our nation by the dehumanization of individuals is staggering both financially as well as psychologically. Inarguably, you have the right to access pornography, prostitutes, and any other illicit activity you feel compeled to experience, and people like myself will be there to clean up the debris when you are finished satiating your baser instincts.

Sure, but not the "I have to resign the Governorship of one of the most powerful states in the nation cuz I like to ride bareback on ponies barely older than my daughters" kind of sex.
Sex is fine,it's natural, but when you put a price tag on it you destroy it's magic.

America's moral compass has gone overboard. Nothing left to anchor to, so might as well that she gets her own reality show, like every other gold-digging whore ( Kardashians, How to marry a millionaire, ad infinitum)

Karma will smack her dead in the face one day.

Forget what I said about Rule of Law's verbosity -- you take the frickin' cake!

Of course it sucks that prostitution victimizes children around the world -- just goes to show you how sick we are as people. However, the segment of prostitution in which Ms. Dupre and Mr. Spitzer were engaged is essentially victimless in a sane and sexually open society. In ours, however, we see the shame of the admission of guilt and contemplate what it's done to the kids, etc. If this were a legal business transaction, at worst it would be embarrassing for Spitzer to have been caught, but not the end of his career and the rending of his family.

And hey, this is America, land of opportunity. Any publicity, good or bad, is good publicity. I applaud Ms. Dupre and her lawyers for seizing the branding opportunity. I hope she hits it big, if she's at all talented.
