While all eyes were on the presidential campaign and the demise of New York Gov. Eliot L. Spitzer (D) last week, Republicans on Capitol Hill were suffering a run of bad news that could hold dire implications for the campaign season.

It started with the loss last weekend of the seat held for two decades by former House speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.). It got worse when Republicans lost potentially strong challengers to Democratic senators in South Dakota and New Jersey, and failed to field anyone to oppose the reelection bid of Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.).

The latest blow came with the revelation that the former treasurer of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) had allegedly diverted hundreds of thousands of dollars -- and possibly as much as $1 million -- from the organization's depleted coffers to his own bank accounts.

The conservative agenda is and always has been the agenda of wannabe robber barons and despot kings, at least as far back a Hooverville.

The glorious fruit of that conservative agenda was BushCo when he was popular. BushCo is Corporatist fascist.

Conservative=corporatist=fascist=GOP=BushCo=McCain=Bankruptcy.

Bankrupt morally, intellectually, politically.

Bankrupt financially unless you are one of the few chosen cronies.

The Permanent republican fascist majority is still moving forward toward a Hoover depression, so they can further dominate the peasants and avoid prosecution.

Impeach!

A rather long-winded article to tell us what we already knew and not expand on the why's of the matter, and omit to tell us how much further back this started than G.W. Bush. Not that the Democratic party is well-represented these days, either.

At the end of the article is a tidbit: Al Franken's last Democratic competitor for the nomination for Senator from Minnesota has withdrawn. Franken will run against Norm Coleman in November.

Reclaim the Wellstone seat!

Bush "Has Killed The Republican Brand"

Admittedly, he has been the icing on the cake that has been baked for 20 years or more now. I think the party was scraping the bottom of the barrel when they came up with him. But, a lot of us quit voting Republican back with Ronald Reagan. He did so much to damage the American worker it is still resounding 20 years later. That was the start of the decline in the middle class with that Robber Baron Republican. That's when the religious nuts started taking over the party and totally screwing it up with their sick agenda! Reagan spent his time cutting all social programs out of the Budget only to triple the deficit! There were a variety of reasons a lot of us just quit the Republican's. So, it isn't all Bush's fault! There have been a long line of fascist's in that party for a long time now. They have gotten so far away from the Constitution and American principle's they might as well be a bunch of foreigners. Admittedly over the years it's steadily gotten worse to where they finally arrived at GW. Bush has been the worst of the worst! He has brought that parties faults out in the open for the whole world to see. There is no doubt in anyone's minds how greedy, self-serving and fascist these people are. So Bush has had a lot of help to get where he is at!

It's funny how the republicans are blaming Bush for all their misery. Yet Bush couldn't have done what he did without a rubber stamp republican house and senate, the blind faith of the republican masses and the mindless, bordering on maniacal cheer leading of the conservative sleaze media. Nah.... They can't blame Bush. He couldn't have done it without them.

On reflection, taking personal responsibility for their actions has never been a conservative strong point. Though they did use it as a talking point quite a bit.

Why do you blame the idiot only? All of you republicans in the senate/congress are equally to blame for your demise. You aided and protected him/yourselves for years. He would never have done all the stupid acts if he had not had protection from you all.

If anyone uses the word "branding" to refer to these times, except in the context appropriate to cattle, then that person has no idea what it means to sit in that chair, in that chamber.

If those statues of our nation's forefathers could but speak . . . could but scream . . .

Well Bush had lots of help, with a long parade of others that were forced to resign, some found guilty of crimminal wrong doing, and pure and simple incompetence. Worst thing is I doubt any republican in or out of office feel they have done nothing worng. What was the term most thrown around? Oh ya, everyone was trying to crimminalize politics, as if taking bribes, re-writing ethics rules to make many unlawful things legal, election fraud, and a long list of other things has anything to do with politics.

"He's just killed the Republican brand" That is so true. Its the only good thing he ever did. But Republicans should not despair, The Democrats are doing everything they can to get McCain elected.

As if it's all George W. Bush's fault? Give me a damned break. All of the Republican sycophants put him there. He's too dumb to pull this off all by himself, he had the help of the loyal republican party who decided to walk in lock-step, afraid to step out of line. You brownshirts got what you asked for, a worthless party that catered to the "haves".

Chicken SH*T voters who are stuck in BUSH-WHIRLED should get some COURAGE PILLS and
vote against all Republicans--the REPUBLICAN CABAL that got USA into one of the worse
messes in all history.

If you cannot do that, Mr. or Ms. Voter, by yourself a bag of Pampers, check into pre-school and pray you will outgrow your BABYSH*T.
