Tiger has a brand-new lair - a $65 million estate in the Hamptons where he can send his chip shots flying into the ocean, reports the NY Post. [Update: The broker of the monster property, however, has claimed the buyer was not Tiger]

Located on exclusive Gin Lane, Tiger Woods' estate is on nearly six gated acres with a 13,200-square-foot Colonial Revival main residence, a 7,500-square-foot guesthouse and a four-car garage with staff quarters.

The lush grounds feature an oversized seaside pool with spa, a tennis court, a lily pond and professionally groomed gardens.

Keep reading the report of Woods' alleged purchase...

Woods' other pricey havens include:

* A $40 million estate on Jupiter Island, Fla., which was partially destroyed last year in a fire.

* A 155-foot-long, 6,500 square foot yacht called Privacy. It has a master suite, six state rooms, a theater-projection system, and a Jacuzzi that seats eight.

* A 16,500-square-foot palace with pool and theater that he is building at the golf course he has designed in Dubai.

Looks like Bush is right again. The fundamentals are sound. So much for the real estate bubble story!

Can we please get a correction posted for this story? Tiger Woods did NOT purchase this property. The original New York Post story is false, according to Tiger Woods' agent. What? No pushing for a ratio of Tiger's winnings to that of the ball-washers at the courses where he wins millions?

Why don't the libs want a 10:1 ratio between professional athletes, movie stars & their serfs?

Just curious.

Love the way some people just make up crazy ass stuff then attribute it to groups they do not like.

Infantile fantasy at its best!

John,

What this "lib" really wants is this:

Get yourself a life, Dude.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:59 PM on 03/19/2008

Oh, I've "got a life."

Just despondent that Tiger's club-cleaners have their incomes so restricted that while he is able to buy a mansion that they cannot afford a paltry monthly rental.

Just know how badly you libe want to "rectify" that situation.

Looking forward to your "solutions."

The "excess is excess" argument is both simplistic and silly. Who determines this ? And why ?

Mr. Woods created his wealth by dint of hard work, determination and natural talent. He has also created a foundation to assist others less fortunate.

www.tigerwoodsfoundation.org

Success and achievement seem to bother so many on this site. Everyone of us is free to go out and make the most of our time here on earth......And the freedom to enjoy {and share} the fruits of our endeavors.

By the way, he is not 'taking' anything from anyone. He is paid to perform just like you and I. The argument that 'athletes are overpaid' is specious and shortsighted. The money must come from somewhere, ticket sales, television viewers and sponsors. If you really wish to reduce the incomes of athletic performers, then you have to convince fans and businesses to stop buying tickets.

Just last weekend, 32 yo Woods once again demonstrated just why he is considered by many as the very best to have ever played the game. Take a break from politics to view the tapes of the tournament at Bay Hill last weekend. If you do not understand the inspiration some have mentioned above, then you need a soul.

Watch golf? No thanks.

Isn';t he doing what wealthy people do? The money he has is from winning and finishing high on the list of golf tournaments and from sponsors. I doubt he held a gun to their heads to wear their products, use their equipment or be their spokesman. I can't ever remember where he has dis-respected anyone and has been gracious to those that have been to him. On the outside. If it was someone who he felt offended him in the game he took care of it on the golf course. I enjoy watching him and am amazed at his talent. As far as money goes, it is his to do with as he sees fit. If he did purchase a $65/mil estate, you can bet your mulligans it will be worth a hell of a lot more when it's time to sell. I bet those that condemn Tiger and what he does with his money didn't comment when the jerk that sold body armor to the Pentagon that was sub-standard threw a batmitzvah for his daughter that cost $10/mil.

$2.2m if you include the part Tony Rezko bought for the Obama family to secure the ability to influence Barack on demand.

This is all so obscene. I was always happy for the guy and his success. But I guess his character is weak and all the money and fame just went to his head.

Investing money in real estate is obscene? SInce when? Tiger has more money and futures in him that we can't even fathom. This is a modest investment for him, it would seem. Good for him. Good for golf. Good for people.

The guy is a SUPER class act. If Tiger Woods ran for president I would probably vote for him. He's busy making history at the moment though. Maybe when he's 50...oh wait, no. That wouldnt work. That's when he goes on the senior tour to crush every record there. lol

The guy is the closest thing to a gladiator there is. If his sport was pitting himself against lions in an arena? Well, I guess there'd be a lot of dead lions. He is iron willed. He's smart. He takes no prisoners.

As a fair minded progressive I find your comment offensive. The guy has come by his wealth honestly and fairly, how can you fault that? He demonstrates one of the classiest personalities out there. He buys another house and 'fame went to his head'. Why aren't you complaining about Michael Jordan, some years back he received more in endorsment money from Nike than the company paid all their foreign employees. Now there is cause for complaint!!!

Tiger deserves it. Go Tiger!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:29 PM on 03/18/2008

No one deserve this ridiculousness. They can afford it, they can have it, but for the sake of sanity deserve is not the word. This would imply that money, position, status makes one worthy or fit for something. Maybe we should use another word to describe the rich and powerful - simply put they can afford it. Now should their good luck and talent affording them this great largesse be used this way. That's for another one to judge.
