Cosmo Plans Bikini Bash

Plans Bikini Bash

Cosmo is planning the mother of all bikini shoots that'll expose more than just women's bodies. The Hearst Magazines title plans to assemble 1,200 bathing beauties at Miami's Nikki Beach April 18 and take an aerial shot of them spelling out "Cosmo" that will run as a four-page spread in the August issue. The magazine was inspired by a similar stunt by its Australian edition in 2007.

Old Navy and Nivea, also are getting plenty of exposure, through print ads, Cosmo's Sirius radio show, online video and banners flown at the shoot. Old Navy will donate the bikinis while Nivea will sponsor a sweepstakes for a winning trip to Miami for the shoot and host Webisodes of the event on its Web site.

"We're going to break a Guinness World Records, and we're doing it in a big way," said Donna Lagani, senior vp, publishing director, Cosmopolitan Group. Both sponsors made multimillion dollar commitments, she said.

Spring break is known as a time for bending rules. But Cosmo plans to take it one step further and break records -- Guinness World Records -- for the most people photographed on a beach in a bikini.

Join us as we attempt to set a brand-new photo-shoot record at the superhot Nikki Beach in Miami's South Beach on April 18, 2008. Grab a bunch of your friends (it's a great excuse for a road trip!) and be in the massive photo of chicks 18-34 we're taking on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. You'll get lots of free loot just for showing up early! The first 1,200 people to arrive at the event will receive free bikinis from event sponsor Old Navy! (Exact bikini style to depend on available quantity and selection.) Then, stick around all day for manicures, beauty consultations, mini-massages, and more, while a DJ spins the hottest tunes. The aerial group shot will run in the August 2008 issue of Cosmo.

Just sign up by April 11 using our entry form. Bonus: 100 lucky entrants will get the chance to win a beauty gift bag from NIVEA worth $45! (You must be a resident of the United States, the District of Columbia, or Canada to win.)
