Singer Corinne Bailey Rae's Husband Dies Of Suspected Drug Overdose

LONDON — The husband of Grammy-nominated British singer Corinne Bailey Rae has been found dead. Police say Jason Rae was found in an apartment in the northern English city of Leeds on Saturday. Officers are awaiting results of toxicology tests to determine the cause of death.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of supplying him with drugs but has been released on bail, officials said.

Thirty-one-year-old Jason Rae was a saxophonist with a funk band, the Haggis Horns.

Bailey Rae's self-titled debut album sold more than 1 million copies in the U.S. after its release in 2006.

The 29-year-old was nominated for song of the year at the Grammy Awards in both 2007 and 2008.

I am so sorry to hear. That is a terrible way to lose a loved one....My heart goes out to Corrine, also to go through this type of ordeal in media scrutiny. I love her music, and I hope she can find the strength to go on recording, and perhaps draw some inspiration from such a tragedy to prosper in his memory.

Tragic and painful for Corrine. Maybe they're right, but I wish the media would hold off on the drug overdose angle until the tox. report comes in. When the lead for Drowning Pool died they were all over the overdose thing, turned out he had an undiagnosed heart problem. Yeah even with that band name. The real cause of death never got the press that the drug angle did.

Still such a horrible loss at such a young age.
