Carville Stands By "Judas" Remark, Says He Wanted To Brand Richardson

Carville Judas

WASHINGTON — Hillary Rodham Clinton adviser James Carville is refusing to apologize for comparing New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson to Judas.

Carville made the comparison to The New York Times after Richardson, once a member of President Clinton's Cabinet, endorsed Hillary Clinton rival Barack Obama last week for the Democratic presidential nomination. Carville called it an "act of betrayal," and pointed out that it came during Holy Week.

"Mr. Richardson's endorsement came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out (Jesus) for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic," he said.

Richardson told "Fox News Sunday" that he wouldn't respond by getting "in the gutter like that."

"That's typical of many of the people around Senator Clinton," Richardson said. "They think they have a sense of entitlement to the presidency."

Carville told CNN on Monday that Richardson had committed an "egregious act" and he intended to make a sharp response to it.

"I wanted to use a very strong metaphor to make my point," Carville said. "I doubt if Governor Richardson and I will be particularly close in the future."

Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson told reporters Monday that he didn't agree with Carville's comment.

"If I had said it, I would apologize," Wolfson said. "I did not say it, and if I had I would, but that's up to him."

Richardson served as ambassador to the United Nations and energy secretary during the Clinton administration.

...And James Carville would know all about Judases, wouldn't he? His hero and best friend Governor Zell Miller was figuratively branded a Judas by former president Jimmy Carter when he betrayed his constituency by becoming a Republican. President Carter, however, did the branding with a lot more class.

This is what happens when you marry a GOPER your brain falls into your feet and you start speaking like a rabid GOPER. When you and Hill gonna change parties you love McBush so much she plugs him all the time.

Love to be a fly on the wall in the Carville-Matalin household ! Political opposites; it just shows you that in the end they are just into money and power. Please James...just slither away and crawl back under the rock you came from.

While Hillary Rodham Clinton is the wrong sex to be called a Judas- she is part of the DLC faction. To engage in creating monsters-the DLC is a band of heretics which don't resemble Democrats. They are elitists of the reactionary right, not centerists. The DLC types have more in common with moderate Republicans than they have with progressives. The DLC types aren't like the fundies of the so called religious right but the DLC types are clones of the old moderate, Rockafeller Republicans. Moderate Republicans & DLC Democrats would serve themselves if both left each party & formed a new party. Progressives could take the Democratic Party, sans the DLC, into a new force which combined traditional FDR concerns with the 21st century progressive concerns such as the environment & rebuilding America, etc.

I wonder if the Democratic establishment got turned off by Carville's message the other day. I personally think that his comments were planted by the Clinton's as a threat to anyone else thinking of backing Obama. Almost as if they were trying to say that we have information about all of you and we can damage you. I wonder if the Democrats are now responding because they don't like being threatened. Wonder why no other news organization picked up on that as a threat because he himself clearly said it served its purpose. What purpose could he possibly be talking about??? Anythings possible when the Clinton's are involved.

Richardson as Judas? But ain't that exactly the point? We've been trying to get Hillary down off the cross since Obama passed her on the Via Dela Rosa heading downhill to Denver.

Carville: Richardson Needed To Be Branded As Judas

===

Indeed. Kinda like Joe Wilson needed to be branded by BushCo.

Thanks, Jimbo.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that James Carville would make such an odious remark. Besides the sense of entitlement so many in the Clinton camp seem to be afflicted with, being married to Mary Matalin for so long must have taken its toll and made Carville a little loopy.

Until now, I never could picture what James Carville and Mary Matilin saw in each other. I think it was cronyism.

The only thing that is bothering Carville is his irrelevance.

Haven't you noticed that Carville and his wife look exactly alike. He's her with hair and she's him bald. I think it's true, when couples inhale each others crap, they start to look alike. I can't stand either of them. "Judas", indeed. Who in the hell do you think you are? Go away Carville and take your wife and Hillary with you.

Carville is pure poison, and that fact is much larger and older than the 2008 campaigns. He contributes nothing to U.S. politics that isn't wholly destructive. The NY Times is also partially to blame for continuing to reserve space on its pages for him.
