That isn't working so well in Ohio with investigations underway for voter fraud. The problem is Republication just love to talk about breaking the law.

Why vote for a proven liar. Haven't we had enough of that for the last 8 years.

If Tweedy thinks the tide is moving toward the Democrats he will insist that he has always been a Democrat just like he now says he was always against the war. And he chides Hillery for padding her resume.

One concern: the Republicans are voting in large numbers for Clinton to befuddle the Democrats. Will the DNC and uncommitted delegates take the Republican tricks into account? Or will they simply look at the vote and delegate totals as if Hillary really has that much support? Republicans have been switching parties in large numbers since McCain secured the GOP nomination. This happened in Ohio and Texas with Hillary's apparent complicity. What should have been the end of Clinton's campaign was prolonged by the the bedevilment of Limbaugh's minions. Don't be fooled: the Republicans voting for Hillary in the primaries will vote for McCain in the general election.

An appeal to Hillary supporters: don't be misled into thinking that Hillary has a realistic possibility of winning the nomination; she doesn't. Her only strategy at this point is to damage Obama to the point that he loses to McCain in the general election, and she can say, "I told you so," and run against McCain in 2012. This strategy has been clear to those who can read between the lines: i.e. that she and McCain are qualified as Commander-in-Chief, while Obama gave a speech, etc. She cares less about her party, the country, or those desperate for change, than her own political ambition. As a white man, a feminist, and a Ph.D. economist, I urge undecided voters to support Obama as a rare, needed chance to right the wrongs of the last 7 years.

What are our problems in the economy now? Do we need more regulation of financial markets? How is the war costs affecting our economic meltdown?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:57 AM on 03/26/2008

The key problem in our economy is lack of leadership. Bush is simply unequipped to deal with the complexities of our economy and the world in general. I attribute his reelection in 2004 to a lack of critical thinking skills on the part of the electorate -- a failure of our educational system. Regarding the economy more specifically, the war is indeed affecting our economic meltdown. At a time when fiscal stimulus is needed, the federal government is in a weakened position due to the huge debt racked up by the war. The tax cuts may help in some small way, but they will not lower the price of gas. Our country needs to invest in alternative energy sources such as solar and wind to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. I don't believe regulation of the financial sector is needed nearly as much as educating the public to make wiser financial decisions. But I believe the government should try to help those in trouble. I believe McCain will be as ineffectual as Bush on the economy and for that reason the Democratic nominee should have a clear advantage among those who understand the economic costs of 4 more years of the same.

PHD - I think the superdelegates can figure that out. Just like they figured out Obama's push to have voters pull the lever for "uncommitted" in Michigan. There is nothing odd about this stuff.

I can read between the lines - they are just different lines than yours and I would not presume to know what Senator Obama cares less about. I am not the mind reader that you are.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:45 AM on 03/26/2008

What did Obama have to do with voters pulling the uncommitted lever in Michigan. I do not understand your point here.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:35 AM on 03/26/2008

What the Michigan voters did was not voter fraud. They acted according to the options available to them. You logic stinks to high heaven. Either call a sewer company out or use a stronger deoderant!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:18 PM on 03/26/2008

I believe they would have voted "uncommitted" if ... (I'm trying to think of somebody worse than Hillary but I can't).

I can't understand why this story is being so mis-represented. PPD, as they said when they released the poll and has been discussed among poll-watchers, changed their polling universe yesterday. They switched from previously polled primary voters to a previously-polled primary and general election voters. It is not a valid uptick. The two are statistically unrelated. It is a different poll. Give it a few days to find itself.

I cant believe what I am reading. You people really dont know Hillary or you wouldnt be saying the things you are saying. And I bet that most of you really dont know Barrack either. I dont understand why the media dislikes Hillary so much, I think its because she is such a strong woman and they dont like it. She was named one of the top ten lawyers in the country when her husband ran for President. She has worked unending to help children in this country and she is truly a very warm and caring person. Dont allow a person who can give a good speech woo you. Please compare their records before making a decision. I dont think that Barrack went far enough with the Reverend Wright situation. I have left two churches in my lifetime because of remarks made that I felt were not Biblical or out of hatred. Barrack should have done the same. I also believe that Hillary is going to win NC,PA,IN,KY and WV.

What you believe can be found on a page of paper called, "Hillary's Talking Points".

Perhaps you were looking for www.peoplewhodontfollowpolitics.com to find someone uniformed enough to "believe" there is any sincerity in your post.

Speaking of knowing nothing, count me in. I have no idea why you attacked Leadbee. She/he was expressing a personal opinion - I don't see any talking points there that relate to whatever piece of paper you have. It is perfectly okay for someone to have thoughts that do not mirror yours. I find Leadbee to be very sincere - it does not matter where you agree or not - there are lots of Obama supporters here who are also sincere. Usually they do not attack anyone.

Excited to hear Obama is leading again. He is so Presidental, so respectful and will bring such class and presence to the White House. I'm hoping he gets the opportunity. I admire how level headed Obama. He is so even keel. I feel so many possiblilities with Obama.

I went out with 12 republicans for dinner the other night. 2 said they were voting for McCain. 8 said they would vote for Obama if he's the nominee. The others hadn't decided. It was mind blowing to hear all the wonderful statements being made about Obama. The Hillary person at the table was very upset with all of them but I was on cloud nine, hearing how they also admired Obama. It was so nice to hear. They kept using words such as Class, Respect & Honor.

Class, Respect and honor to the White House.

Thats too bad. I knew a total of 1 person who voted for her in California yet she magically swung things her way. Never mind the widespread allegations of independent voter disenfranchisement (who largely supported Obama) because of stupid new ballots the poll workers didnt know how to inform people on filling out properly. Then there is the deibold bump... etc. You get the picture.

All that proves is that you had a pretty proscribed set of white friends who have a fairly race-defined outlook on life, if not a single one is voting for Obama.

So here's my suggestion: open up your circle of friends to include people of other races, and encourage your old NC friends to do the same!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:21 AM on 03/26/2008

Non-Obama voters are race-defined? How do you arrive at that point? You need to let go of that narrow-mindedness. It is not helpful.

I wouldn't worry too much about what this person has said. I used to live in North Carolina. The media is doing it's best to make Hillary appear as though she has a chance. That has been changing a bit but they still think she could have a shot at NC. No way. It's highly populated with Youth voters, African Americans and major universities. Not to mention wealthy people down there. Loads of people tend to forget about old tobacco money down there. Barack's prime demographics. No one talks about that in the media. They're only focusing on Pennsylvania's demographics.

No one with any kind of sense will vote for Hillary.. She's an embarassment to woman all over the world. Normally as a woman I would've loved to vote for the first woman, but not Hillary, she's too dishonest. We've had enough corruption in the whitehouse for the past 16 years. She makes me sick with her underhanded tactics........ No more Clintons in the whitehouse!

Yup and why do you think Billary brought up the Wright issue today? First to deflect from her lies and second to try and send a message to all those "white" voters out there that you cannot possibly vote for a man who's half black and half white when you can have me and Bill AGAIN!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:22 PM on 03/25/2008

Folks, this race is over. It was probably over on Super-Tuesday. It was definitely over when she lost Texas. It's just the Clintons, their supporters and the media who believe and want you to believe otherwise, although the media is starting to get it. It's time to get behind the nominee, Senator Obama and go on to win in November.

Oh, and before I hear the DNC disenfranchised the voters in MI and FL whine, the rules were agreed to a long, long time ago. The parties in those two states new what would happen if they moved their primaries up. They and the respective state legislatures disenfranchised their voters. If you're told what will happen if you blow through a red light at a busy intersection, it's your own fault when a truck takes you out.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:16 PM on 03/25/2008

Hillary will get her friend, Rush to get the Republican vote out for her. Can't the DNC see that Hillary can only win Democratic primaries with the Rush Republican vote supporting her?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:05 PM on 03/25/2008

NC doesn't allow republicans to vote in the democratic election if i recall correctly.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:17 PM on 03/25/2008

So what? In Ohio people had to agree to a statement that they agreed with the party's philosophy, and Republicans still crossed over and voted Democratic in the primary, even though it was illegal, and some of them wrote "For one day only!" on their ballots! Nobody is going to stop them doing the same thing in NC.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:10 AM on 03/26/2008

IT'S AGAINST THE LAW TO VOTE DEMOCRATIC IF YOUR REPUBLICAN. RUSH DOESN'T CARE ABOUT ANY OF HIS FANS TO TELL THEM TO DO THIS CRAP. HE WOULDN'T DO IT HIMSELF.

It appears that Hillary Clinton has fiddled with her moral compass so much that it looks like she now has it installed backwards. Not only is she headed in the wrong direction, she may even be beyond redeemable. Now I"m embarrassed for her. I don"t think she has a clue. She tells a bald-faced lie about her Bosnia experience, and now she makes a suspect judgmental remark on Obama"s minister because it"s convenient in her effort to distract attention away from her Bosnia albatross which has revealed the split in her integrity.
I can understand how there can be criticism with respect to Obama"s pastor, Jeremiah Wright, and I can understand how they would not be true Christians if they did so. True Christians would NEVER ask a man or woman to denounce the person who brought them to Jesus Christ nor would true Christians demonize the person who brings people to Jesus Christ.
