Caught On Film: Hillary Talks To Architect Of Vast Right Wing Conspiracy

As you know, earlier today Hillary Clinton tried to stoke the Jeremiah Wright controversy by telling an editorial board meeting in Pittsburgh that Jeremiah Wright "would not have been my pastor" and then going on to note that she had denounced Don Imus in contrast to Obama's allegedly more tolerant attitude toward hate speech....

Now obviously, Hillary's been in the political big leagues for a while. She knows how to deflect a question. But it's actually much richer than this. This afternoon Greg Sargent and I were talking this over and one of us realized that this wasn't just any Pittsburgh paper. It was the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the money-losing, vanity, fringe sheet of Richard Mellon Scaife, funder of the Arkansas Project, the American Spectator during its prime Clinton-hunting years and virtually every right-wing operation of note at one point or another over the last twenty years or more.

Clinton is a hypocrite and a liar. I am sick and tired of her drama, hypocrisy and lies. I don't know how anybody could support such a blatantly crooked candidate. It's like some of those Republicans who still approve of Bush, no matter what he does. How can people even have any integrity or honesty, if they don't demand and expect it from their candidate of choice?

From the Tribune Review-"Indeed, we still have quibbles with Hillary Clinton -- from her misguided admiration of Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell to myriad economic issues. But we and she would not be presumptuous to say all came away from yesterday's meeting with a newfound and mutual respect."
They (the paper)may not want Obama as their President (although Obama is conservative on a lot more issues than one might think-Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker "When I sat down with him,I found him to be unbelievably refreshing and smart and thoughful" (BusinessWeek), but at least the Tribune Review saw through Clintons' transparent attempt to undermine Obama's visit by having her "so-called Conservative views in the morning paper. So many Democrates want her to step down and the woman just won't do it, she'll resort to any length to get her votes and the Republicans love it because they know McCain would win over her (according to my Republican friend..we will just cancel each other out).

Can't forget the hunting of Bill Clinton by the Republicans when he was a president and especially during the Lewinsky scandal. But a few years later there he was traveling the world with one of his worst enemies, embracing older Bush like a ho. Now Hillary is courting the ARCHITECT Cheney.
Clintons the millionaires became what they always aspired to be - members of the real ruling class and they want you to know it.

I'm not surprised at all. Hillary is in cohoots with the Republicans. She calls herself a Democrat but she's really a Republican. Here she sits with the man who accused her of murder? Hillary's actions are telling us all that she does NOT care what we think, just get out there and vote for her. She doesn't care about the repeated lie she told of running for cover under sniper fire, just go out and vote for me.
This woman is dangerous!

The Clintons are now saying that Hillary did not "technically" vote to go to war with Iraq.

The title of the resolution, that she apparently did not read was Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002,a law passed by the United States Congress in October 2002 as Public Law No: 107-243, authorizing the Iraq War.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_war_resolution

Hillary was both thumbs up when it came to voting for Authorization for use of military force against Iraq.

What game points does she think she'll score by giving an interview to the right wing nut job that accused her of murdering Vince Foster? Her behavior lately is getting more and more bizarre...

Of course there is a vast right wing conspiracy and its fueled by conservatives who love to hate the Clintons.

Hillary Clinton has basically outdistanced Obama in the Electoral college race from day one. Obama has 10 victories in caucuses in which only a fraction of the states voters vote, yet all everybody wants to do is bash Hillary because she is trying to court the superdelegates. What's so super about winning 10 out of 11 caucus states?

In states where ALL THE VOTERS VOTED, Hillary Clinton will have over a 100 POINT ELECTORAL COLLEGE LEAD if she wins Pennsylvania. Oh that's right, we dare not count Florida and Michigan, even though it's a given that Florida was a lock for Hillary and Michigan was in Hillary's court as well.

Barrack Obama has won TWO of the TOP TEN electoral college states, If Hillary wins Florida, she will have SIX, plus Florida and Michigan. If HIllary mentions any of this, she is immediately accused of trying to change how the nominee is selected. Yet these same pundits will chortle about how there has never been a race this close before.

Yes, there is a conspiracy against the Clintons.

What planet have you been living on this las t couple weeks. Hillary has sliped in all polls------due to her Bosnia lie--------know they are getting ready to dig up more for Utube! Maybe the lie aboubt chelsey ducking into a coffee shop around the corner on 9/11 to safe her life-------In reality she was several blocks away safely tucked away in a friends apartment. That got Hillary some good free air time, at a time when america was hanging onto alll words spoken about the world trade center---------She just had to be in the center of the excitement even then--------but that was a lie out of her mouth too! All she ever does is interject lie's to make herself the center of attention! The lady has a real head problem folks.

Her lying seems almost pathological. She lies even when she doesn't need to. Remember David Geffen's comment: "Everybody in politics lies, but they do it with such ease, it's troubling."

Hillary, your logic is faulty to an extreme. Primaries are different beasts from the general election. Obama will win all the traditional blue states in the fall, like California, New Jersey and New York, plus he'll take some red states that are way out of Hillary's reach. Meanwhile, if Hillary were somehow able to pull off a steal, she'd lose at least two of the states that Kerry won in 2004, meaning John McCain would be ensured a victory.

There are no electoral votes in primaries, dolt!

With all due respect Alessandro... the Electoral College has absolutely nothing to do with the Democratic and Republican Party primaries. The only thing I can guess, by your somewhat twisted calculus, is that you are assuming that all states Hillary wins in the primaries will magically be won by her again during the general election. That is a very peculiar opinion, and one that is not supported by almsot every presidential election since Abraham Lincoln.

Disagree, as you can tell.

What do caucuses in which a small percentage of a states voters determine the vote for all the voters have to do with a nomination? I'd rather follow the formula that will actually be used in November to determine the democratic candidate now.

How can 10 states that held caucus only votes be held to a higher level of importance than not counting Florida and Michigan. Hillary in all likelihood will have won 8 of the 10 biggest states in the country, so it's not just her huge lead in the electoral college vote, it's also the dominance in so many of the large states that should not be ignored as well.

I'm from Philadelphia, so my large, Dem family is debating the election and the upcoming PA primary. Last August, a table of 18 family (a few from out of town) " ranging in age from 19 to 83 " sat at a long table and of course the debate started. It came down to one 28 years old against everyone else. He was firmly for Obama, and was absolutely convinced he would beat Hillary for the nomination, and become the next president.

Everyone else " firmly or begrudgingly " was for Hillary Clinton. We thought he was crazy, and that Hillary would win it. He stuck to his guns, which was impressive given he fought the whole family. At the end of dinner, the vote stood: 17 - 1, Hillary over Obama.

Yesterday, I sent out an email poll to everyone who was at that dinner. The votes are in. Almost exactly 7 months later, it's now 16 - 2, Obama over Hillary. My how times change. Reading this story of Hillary chumming up to Richard Mellon Scaife " the guy who wrote about how she'd ordered Vince Foster's "offing" ...sitting RIGHT NEXT to her, SMILING at something she's saying. Like they're old drinking buddies. Reading that and seeing that picture... made me sick. Literally. All this just to squeeze a few votes out of Pennsylvania? Does she have no self-respect?

This is the sort of cynical, debased hypocrisy that has lost her the votes of my entire family.

Welcome to the winning side. I was a Clinton supporter through last summer, until her sleazy tactics became all too clear, and Obama isn't just the default candidate! He won me over with the interview he did with the San Francisco Chronicle. If you haven't seen it yet, I suggest you watch it and send it out to your friends and family. You can find the entire interview on YouTube.

I neglected to mention that over half the family switched due to being extremely excited by Barack Obama, once they understood more about him. Only about 4 changed their vote due to disgust with HRC. But that disgust certainly is pretty much universally felt throughout a family... a family in which five family members actively worked on Bill Clinton's campaign, and three voted for Hillary for senator in NYC. So: positive feelings for Obama won the majority. Disgust with Hillary sealed the deal.

I hope that the Superdelegates and the Party understand what Hillary has done. In order for a healthy General Election campaign to take place, I hope that someone prevails on her to save her career and bow out, now. As it is, Hillary cannot have the debate her donors want to have in the Fall by being the nominee, so Clinton is going to do her big money contributors a favor by hurting the Dems and Obama any way she can. There is no other possible explanantion for Hillary's catering to the likes of Scaife. She may be scruple-less but she is, allegedly, not stupid. Hillary's career as a Democrat, IMHO, is *over.*

Awesome work, TPM.

This is so ironic and so sad. Hillary sits down for an interview with the very people who led the "right-wing" attacks against the Clintons, even suggesting they killed Vince Foster. Using the interview to attack Rev. Wright who was on their side, in their darkest monica-gate hour, is just sick.
These hypocrits deserve no sympathy. They have proven they would side with the devil to get elected.

For most, Hillary Clinton's sit-down with Richard Mellon Scaife means nothing.
On cable, Clinton spinners characterized it as "a meeting with an editorial board;"conveniently avoiding the fact of Scaife's presence at her right hand. Interviewers and Obama counter-punchers alike missed the point and irony.

In politically correct terms, Richard Mellon Scaife is a "contributor to conservative causes." What this really means to those who are not a multi-billionaire children of privilege, is that for decades, Scaife has used his extraordinary wealth, power, and access to counter the forces of progress, inclusion, choice, equal rights, equal justice, and an equal shot at the "American Dream." No need to demonize him, he's simply an extraordinarily wealthy individual from an extraordinarily powerful family trying to preserve his way of life. Unfortunately for the majority of Americans in general, Clinton supporters in particular, preserving his way of life necessitates degrading ours.

It was with the help of Scaife's foundations, publications, and purchased outrage that the Clintons faced so many scandals, and President Clinton faced impeachement. I do not know about you, but I would have to lose my mind, self-respect, and remaining dignity, to sit next to the man that denigrated and disrespected my family for years; going so far as to suggest my involvement in murder, and beg for help.

This was not just any "editorial meeting." This was an open act of self-betrayal,...and Scaife got her on tape with her hand out.

DEMOCRATIC PARTY UNITE!!!

Clinton supporters pleaseeee open your eyes, she is not the woman you want. She is a (d)epuplican Only Obama is a (D)emocrat.

If you are still with Hillary by tomorrow I suggest you go change party affiliations and be certain you are a Republican and not a confused individual like Hillary. She is certainly running on the wrong party.

We need to clarify what the democratic party entails.
Anyone feel free to tell her...
