Bush took more days of vacation during his first term than most presidents take in their whole first term. All presidents take occasional vacations and want to be left alone during them. The whole of Camp David, not to mention various president's 'Western White Houses' are all structured around allowing the president to be left alone when they want. So he wants to be alone for a weekend! Big deal!

They'd like to imply that Obama can't handle the media attention that comes with being president, when in fact every prez enjoys some privacy at Camp David and other retreats. It's not like he got snippy with the journalists. Gimme a break!

Seriously. He knew the press was camping out in front and graciously interrupted his (brief) family vacation to try to give them -something- so they could all relax, too. Clinton News Network OF COURSE chose to give it the most negative spin they could, making him seem unfriendly. So ridiculous (and yet Blitzer couldn't say enough about Chelsea's "quick comeback" yesterday. I was expecting something gracious and clever--not something snippy and, imo, bitchy. But...CNN....I should have known. They're unwatchable now, except for Cafferty, Schneider and Gergen.

these reporters followed him to the virgin islands to get 2 minutes of footage of him talking on the phone while at the beach. he's on vacation for a couple of days, he shouldn't have to give a mini presser to the couple of idiots that followed him there, they didn't even have anything groundbreaking to ask him, instead they asked him the same questions he gets asked every single day on the trail. so yeah i'd be a little less than thrilled too.
