Yahoo's first site aimed at women is like a ladies-only Readers' Digest, but looks like an even-simpler Real Simple. Whenever I hear about a website "for women," I cringe because I know it's going to be a "puff" site. When I heard about WOW, I thought this is going to be a formidable site. It's run by Leslie Stahl, Diane Sawyer, Whoopi Goldberg, Liz Smith, Marlo Thomas and a few more notable women. Nope, another fluffy site.
