"Senator Hillary Clinton's lead in the Pennsylvania Primary is shrinking," new polling from Rasmussen Reports shows.

The latest...telephone survey in Pennsylvania shows Clinton leading Barack Obama by just five percentage points, 47% to 42%. For Clinton, that five-point edge is down from a ten-point lead a week ago, a thirteen-point lead in mid-March and a fifteen-point advantage in early March.

Support for Clinton slipped from 52% early in March, to 51% in mid-month, 49% a week ago, and 47% today. During that same time frame, support for Obama has increased from 37% to 42%. ...

Tensions clearly remain in the contest. If Obama is nominated, just 56% of Clinton supporters say they are likely to vote for him against John McCain. Forty percent (40%) of Clinton voters in Pennsylvania say they are not likely to vote for Obama.

On the other hand, if Clinton is nominated, just 67% of Obama supporters say they are likely to vote for her against McCain. Twenty-nine percent (29%) are not.

Just 21% of Pennsylvania's Primary Voters say that Clinton should drop out of the race while 18% would like Obama to leave.

UPDATE: SurveyUSA also has a Pennsylvania poll out today, with Clinton leading by 12:

However, the poll showed Obama gaining ground in the Keystone State, particularly in cities like Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, and among older voters, men and conservative Democrats.

Compared to an identical SurveyUSA poll released three weeks ago, Clinton is down two points and Obama is up five, with Clinton's previous 19-point lead cut to 12, the survey found.

The movement in support came almost entirely from men, according to the survey results. Clinton had led by five points but now trails by seven -- a 12-point swing to Obama.

The HRC supporters in PA should come to some real senses that Clinton will continue to stir this race into chaos, even at the cost of the democratic party, and drag all of us with her through the mud. Remember what the Clintons did to John Kerry during the 2000 election? As a result we have had put up with 8 years of Bush! Bill and Hillary are so corrupt, they will take all measures to get what they want....

For all the Obama supporters out there, I can speak for the millions who have never felt so strongly for a presidential candidate since the 60's. And it's a given that Obama is the ONE candidate who can beat McCain. It's about time that the democratic/independent voters stand together and be smart about what we can do to help our party and our future! We cannot afford to have McCain be seated in the White House!

If the Clinton campaign stays true to form and repeats actions as in past primaries, it will attack with comments and ads at the last minute before the primary, raising "alleged" allegations against Sen. Obama, whether true or not. It has happened in Ohio and Texas. Look for more of the same.

There is a small problem with this tactic, though. The networks are wise to the tactic and may be prepared to respond much faster. It may get interesting.

A new composite of all polls show Hillary with a 11 point led. I believe that's what they call double digit.

This composite shows her at 6.6. And there's two weeks to go, and Mark Penn just resigned.

The Philadelphia Gay News banner headline praising Hillary plastered on the internet could not come at a worse time for Clinton, she's depending on those Reagan Democrats to be more racist than misogynistic, but these vociferous supporters may stir those Reagan dem's religious sensibilities, because to be honest if they weren't union labor they'd be Republicans. When all political media coverage ends up national news you can't pander to one support group without alienating another, on top of being proved a liar on two different stump speech stories and trying to revise her and Obama's political Iraq history. Although Hillary's campaign does orchestrate the media with success sometimes for example her Canadian wink and nod on NAFTA wasn't caught till after the Ohio vote while they were able to accuse Obama of the same thing prior to it and all the talking heads are saying the Clinton's released their tax records when in fact they filed for an extension on their 2007 return.

Dear HuffPo,

What is the chance of Lumping all the various Hillary Clinton news blurbs under one Heading? Do you have any idea how disconcerting We feel to come here and have to look at her screaming face all over the front page? She has become less and less attractive since her grossly overlong campaign, and, the sight of her open mouth as she "pushes" her candidacy has clearly gone over the top! She no longer has any positive appeal and has become simply a pesky stooge for "Conservative" minded Rockefeller Democrats. She is hurting the whole democratic process.

Come On.......Have a Frickin' Heart!!!

"Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation " one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman"s 17-year career.

Why?

'Because she was a liar,' Zeifman said in an interview last week. 'She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.'"

Come on Hillary supporters! Admit it! Your candidate is nothing more than a LIAR.

If PA had machines that actually counted votes correctly, Obama would beat Hillary by at least 7 points. Hillary inspires nobody that she didn't inspire a year ago. The media lies, the polls lie, the voting machines lie, and we sit and allow two stupid parties rule the dialog, the elections, and the vote. I know PA as well as someone can know a whole state (I have lived, worked and visited every town in PA), and I am quite familiar with some of the networks within the party, from west to east. If this was 20 yrs ago, race would play bigger (still does now, or hillary would lose large in PA), but the 50 yr olds grew up in the 70's and their kids in the 90's, young voters, new voters, 'inspired' voters are not Hillary voters. Arlen Specter never ran against someone like Obama, and why he is still here as a Sen. is for that reason. Most local leaders know the state and national party have been full of crap for a long time, and are NOT pouring out to vote for Clinton. Bradblog dot com, keep your eyes open like you always do... heck, My town is 60% Italian, Catholic, Democrat and Bush won big here.. Yeah ok!!! Those new machines are beautiful aren't they?

Not surprising that Clinton's lead is shrinking. A national poll released April 3 by CNN shows 76 percent of Americans believe the United States is ready for a black president, but only 63 percent think America is ready for a woman president. Pitiful that it isn't in at least the high 90s in both categories.

There are several flaws in the methodology
This is a poll out of southern Indiana, where HRC will fare better(these polls sponsored by the Papers in Louisville and Cincinatti). In other parts of the state IE where most of the Democrats live, Hillary has more of a problem, especially in NW Indiana where i and the largest share of Democrats in the state live. Given that it is 5 weeks out, i am not too worried. We know Barack here.

It is difficult to see the candidate of your choice start to fail. But I sincerely hope that the citizens of Pennsylvania and Indiana realize that they have been lied to, quite frankly. Nafta is what won Ohio for Hillary, but it was based upon lies. Bosnia lies are one thing. But Nafta is quite another. No tax returns have come forth. No contributor lists. No earmarks. They were due today. WHY? Much too much to hide, too many secrets, too many idol threats and certainly their sense of entitlement. It's time for a new politics - in my humble opinion.

Yea, according to Time magazine writer, Joe Klein, Hillary "convincingly" won Texas. Too bad Joe didn't wait for all the votes to be counted. Joe is disappointing because he did did not bother to read the DNC rules before proclaiming Hillary as a convincing winner in Texas. Pledged Delegates determine who wins and Obama won Texas. The only blow out coming in PA is Hillary's hot breath screams as she accuses people like Bill Richardson of being a Judas, either herself or through her mouthpiece toadies like Carville.

Now that this is virtually over I, and any other Obama supporters who would like to join me, would like to extend the olive branch to Hillary, Bill and of course Chelsea to hop on for the ride of their life. All will be forgiven and no hard feelings. Now let,s get McCain!! How "bout it?

I hope everyone does remember the bigger picture once the dust has settled, Im a bit worried by the numbers on both sides claiming that they wouldn't vote for the successful candidate if their guy/gal loses. I'm sure those numbers will come down, but it would be a disaster if McCain wins the general because of some frankly childish behavior during the Dem primaries. I'm for Obama, and think he'll win, but if Clinton wins I m going to have to suck it up and get on board. Which will be painful, but what is the alternative? Another 100 years in Iraq?

Watergate-Era Judiciary Chief of Staff: Hillary Clinton Fired For Lies, Unethical Behavior

. . . The now-retired general counsel and chief of staff of the House Judiciary Committee, who supervised Hillary when she worked on the Watergate investigation, says Hillary"s history of lies and unethical behavior goes back farther " and goes much deeper " than anyone realizes.

Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. . . . Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation " one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman"s 17-year career.

Why?

"Because she was a liar," Zeifman said in an interview last week. "She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality."

I was a little dubious as to the veracity of this story so I did a little research. The original account was published in 1995 and so is not something that has been produced for the current election cycle.

I still am not satisfied as to the substance of the story but as with any allegation it must be investigated and the truth established. It appears that he may have an axe to grind but that does not make it untrue. I just don"t know.

Dems, do you really want another 4 years of a Republican Whitehouse? The two candidates are not that far apart on the ISSUES. God forbid this race would be about ISSUES rather than character assasination -- from BOTH camps. Clinton supporters, you feel maligned and picked upon? Welcome to the club. You feel Obama should drop out of the race? While he's winning? Get real. You're mad that people want Hillary to drop out of the race while she's still winning states? I agree, let her stay in however long she wants. Just STOP THE CHARACTER ASSASSINATIONS.

BOTH candidates now need to focus on John McCain and pretend the other guy doesn't exist. Each candidate needs to tell us why THEY are the best person for the job, and NOT why we should hate the other guy. We are on the SAME TEAM. We just have to decide who is our starting quarterback. If they keep kneecapping each other, we WILL end up with a President McCain.

STOP. THE. CHARACTER. ATTACKS.

p.s. The continuing media coverage of Bosnia is not perpetrated by Obama's campaign, just as media coverage of Rev. Wright is not published by Clinton's campaign. Both camps or their supporters might be responsible for initially bringing issues to the media's attention, but it's the news outlets who publish -- and keep publishing -- the news. It's time to cut the crap and unite. Otherwise, the Republicans really do deserve the presidency for another 4-8 years.
