Raw Story:

John McCain's temper is well documented. He's called opponents and colleagues "shitheads," "assholes" and in at least one case "a fucking jerk."...

Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.

That is really sad, disturbing and disgusting. I hope he is able to heal and find forgiveness from his friends and family... preferably AFTER the election.

I have to agree with the ladies who commented: Why on earth is the man still alive, if indeed he did say what he is alleged to have said? His wife must have no self-esteem. I guess that goes with first ladies, though, seeing Mrs. Bush and Mrs. Clinton. And furthermore, if McCain's temper is as bad as it appears, he is intemperate, ill-mannered, badly reared, and much less of a hero than he is made out to be--and maybe somewhat demented, which makes him unfit to be president.

You think this will bother the GOP? They'll just figure he's put her in her place. The "Iron my shirts" crowd will love him for it. Given the bits and pieces of her appearances with him in public, she might be doing the wife/nurse thing with him. Loves him enough to forgive him and try to help him. And lets not forget the Clinton's relationship. Be kinda hard for her to say anything without being accused of living in a glass house. Now it'd be worth buying a ticket to see McCain encounter Michelle Obama and have him say something to her. I can just hear him screaming, "Get her off me! Get her off me!"

Is the former Marine and former cardiac technician that assisted on an operation for President Johnson, the Honorable Reverend Wright on the ballot ?

I don't know about you but I can't measure the depth and breath of a man's life from a few seconds of video tape excerpts played in a perpetual loop on Fox-NEWS. Then I don't take this judgment an hold someone else responsible for it.

John McCain's comments are along the same lines as the, "Go f**k yourself," uttered by Vice President Dick Cheney to Leahy on the Senate floor - Or Cheney's "So" comment on the administration's policies not coinciding with the American people's wishes - Cheyney's comment that Bush is bearing the brunt in this war. When I see, just some of, the flag-draped coffines of the over 4,000 dead soldiers, or the ravaged bodies, missing limbs or other body parts, all a result of this war, no way is that true. They are all cut from the same cloth.

It's amazing that you can't find anything bad to attribute to Obama, so you attempt to make him responsible for what another grown man said. A grown man who has done more than just make the few remarks that were played over 3,000 times on tv, continually.

McCain wants to give us more of the same. He even gave up his principles, to support torture. What else is he willing to sell? This is not a man of good character. If he doesn't respect his wife, how will he respect the people of America. John McCain does not have the temperment to be president.

America has become a joke around the world. We have always tbeen proud our freedoms, rights, and our democracy. We've had scandals attached to our ballots and to politicians, an administration that does not follow the laws of our constitution, and public officials who lack civility. Enough is enough!

HIs remarks about his opponents are just stupid remarks that lots of people might say and they can be excused.
But, if he said this to his wife, why is he still breathing? If my husband said anything like that to me in public OR in private, the Republican Party would be looking for someone else to run for president... he would be deader than U.S. Grant.

There is no excuse for him ever speaking to his wife in that way, but it must happen often, doubt that was the first time. As for his opponents, I am eternally greatful for one of Mr. McCain's outburst towards the "Honorable" Senator John Cornyn,(R) Tx; he did for me, what I cannot do for myself; and can think of no one who deserved it more than this pompus ass from my state! So, Thank you John, you will never get my vote, but you have my gratitude..., Mr. Cornyn won't take my E-mails...

No, he'll never be president. I think the "vetting" of John McCain is just about to begin.

When people get to know him better, it'll be the end for him.

McCain is INSANE! He makes even booooshie look a little smarter. This one surely isn't going to campaign as a "family values" guy is he?

Hopefully, Hillary will be the candidate who goes up against this ol kluck-bucket and when his Turette's kicks in and he berates her this way ... she'll rip him a new one!

If my husband ever called me a "cunt" he'd be a DEAD man. McLame's language to other politicians is bad enough, but to say that to his wife - IN PUBLIC- is unforgivable. Just imagine what he calls her in private.

Same here. I would kick my husband's ass so hard he would have a permanent boot mark in it. I am ssure that it is alot worse behind closed doors. She is an heiress, she could have married anybody else. Her family money put him where he is. The old Bastard needs to remember that.

Oh my goodness... I cannot imagine my fiancee calling me that let alone using it in my prescence.... oh boy. You're right Janet... someone cold enough to say that to his wife in public is probably guilty of much worse in private.

If this had been a story about an interaction between Bill and Hillary Clinton, there would be nothing else on the news for a couple of weeks.

I guarantee this won't be mentioned anywhere but here at HuffPo.

If I was married to that senile old bastard, I would probably end up in rehab too. Its funny, I don't hear the media talking enough about that awful temper of his. Like we really need an old man with a horrible temper answering that phone at 3AM? Good grief!

It makes me sick to my stomach how he is continually referred to as an "American Hero." That overused term only gives him a free pass for his crazy temper and his utter confusion when he speaks about the Middle East and the economy. People who vote for this trash to be the next President really are stupid.

My uncle, now deceased, was a Japanese POW. He was loved by all of us for his salty humor and his keen interest in the world around him. As he told me many times, 'when I gave myself up for dead years ago, nothing scared me anymore. It changed my outlook on life from then on...'

I've been thinking of my uncle a lot recently; his similarities to John McCain and his manner are striking. But I also remember my uncle's frightful temper---the smallest thing could set him off...my aunt called it the 'click' in his head.

I loved my uncle very much and I'll never know the hell he lived through, or the strength it took to survive and prosper. And I'd never want him anywhere near the presidency.

You can tell a lot about a person in how they treat their family, apparently McBush has no respect for his wife or kids, so I would say that means he has no respect for anyone else either. We already have someone in the WH who has no respect for the American people and his VP has even less.
These MORAL MAJORITY clones are all the same, and I will throw the Clintons in there also, if your going to call you wife one of the most repugnant names as he did, and cheat over and over again, you don't have any respect for that person, and on the flip side, these women who put up with these assholes apparently have no respect for themselves.

You believe this crap from unamed sources? Try getting some facts before you attempt to engae in rational discourse.

They were reporters for The Arizona Republic, a right leaning newspaper that's lately been playing loose with the facts in it's McCain lovefest. I live in the Phoenix area and read this rag every day. Just about daily there's some blather about McCain on the front page while it gives Obama and Clinton a little bit of space in the bowels of the newspaper. If you worked for this newspaper, would you want your names out there for the world to see? In case you haven't noticed, it's pretty tough getting a decent job these days.

If this disgusting bit of news is true, then I am beyond disappointed in John McCain. I always thought he was somewhat of a gentleman. If it were not for Cindy Lou's money, he would not be where he is now. She is a good human being who has worked to get medical help to third world countries. She has worked with Mother Theresa, for God's sake! What a piece of s**t he is if he has used the C word against her.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:51 AM on 04/08/2008

She also has an oxycontin problem and stole from her own foundation. That's stealing medicines that were intended for poverty stricken third world nations. She may be a "good human being" but when she stole those drugs she was much more interested in herself than the poor people they were intended for. She thought it was low risk but she got caught. It was John McCain's contacts, dubious though they were, that got her off the legal hook. It seems to me they are a couple of mutual enablers. They live in a $5 million condo, her family owns the third largest Budweiser distributor in the U.S. and part of the Phoenix Suns, among many other holdings. She's got the money, he's got the power. Why does she put up with him? I suspect it's because she's afraid of having her dirty laundry aired in public. If the voting public puts McCain in, the late night talk show hosts will have a field day compared with what they have now.

Anyone who thinks that there is a context in which "100 years in Iraq", or "bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran", are appropriate statements, is clearly out of touch with the reality that I live in.
