Ouch! The Daily Show's Eviscerating "Documentary" About Fox News

The Daily Show's John Oliver put togther a stunning smackdown of Fox News on last night's show, punctuated by some damning clips showing egregious comments from some anchors (John Gibson, natch) and some — gasp! — flip-flopping on certain positions (like, say, executive privilege). Watch as Oliver tries to sneak into Fox HQ dressed as the Statue of Liberty, hosts a pundit shoutfest, and waves many flags. Featuring Rupert Murdoch, Roger Ailes, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Neil Cavuto, Chris Wallace, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, George Bush, Bill Hemmer, Megyn Kelly, Jim Pinkerton, Peter Hart, Newt Gingrich and the super-chipper Gretchen Carlson. A.) MSNBC is the lowest rated "news" channel on television. It has not "exploded in popularity....it has just exploded.
B.) FOX-News always, always, always presents BOTH sides of the story and interviews a representative of both left AND right of center. The anchors may lean to the right but come on people. CNN and MSNBC both unabashedly lean left of center and if they offer a conservative viewpoint to the story, it is the exception rather than the rule.
C.) If you want to make something of Sean Hannity's affiliation with a "neo-nazi" that's fine. We can play the guilt by association game. How about Obama's affiliation with Bill Ayers, the American terrorist who detonated bombs at the Pentagon, The WTC, the United States Capitol, etc ad nauseaum. Or his affiliation with Rev. Wright, the racist, hate-spewing minister whose pew he sat in for 20 years. Are we playing that game? Cause if we are you will certainly lose!
D.) Olbermann is a joke.....nuff said.

Fox News may not be your taste but it is the HIGHEST rated news channel far and away for a reason. I absolutely laugh at the comment above about calling a corporation to have the bank branches remove it from the televisions in it's lobby. I thought liberals were all about tolerance. I guess that's only when it's in line with your agenda.

I watch fox news: and it is bias in all its programing, accept Shep Smith. He is the only on without a bias to his reporting. Fox news should STOP saying fair & balance because it not the truth at all. They spent alot of time on conservative views. That is why Obama will not come on any of the shows. He knows they will treat him with a right hand all the way during the interview. I strongly believe fox news will soon lose their ratings as being on top. OReilly thinks he will ride high in the ratings with the "FACTOR" forever. But i got news for him, soon his ratings will fall like rain fall from the sky. For those of you who have trouble "communicating" with Fox News, allow me to offer these potential sources of your problem

He or she feels superior to Fox News and doesn’t really listen.
He or she doesn’t consider the Fox subject matter important.
He or she has a different view on the matter and isn’t open to the message.
He or she has racial prejudices that skew the message.
He or she dislikes the reporter, thereby missing the message.
He or she doesn’t feel part of the Conservative team and disregards the message.
He or she is receiving too much information and needs to reboot.

Communication always boils down to two areas. The sender doesn't know or the reciever doesn't care. In my book, Wingtips with Spurs, I go into detail regarding this area. Thankfully, I don't go into detail about Fox News. I don't really care for it either but then again, I get most of my news from Google. Michael L. Gooch

Personally I have a problem with anything that is slanted being called "news" and all the networks and news programs are guilty. And the slant is not just towards political leanings but to "entertainment". FOX just happens to be more successful with its slanting than the other "news" organisations. If I want news I watch or listen to public broadcasting. The problem is that these programs misrepresent themselves as "informing" people, when the reality is what they are doing is closer to brainwashing.

What's the point of having guests on your show when you don't allow them to speak? Numerous Fox pundits regularly engage in this tactic.
Olberman doesn't need to have conservatives on his show. He's been interviewed and explained why several times.
The reason why MSNBC has exploded in popularity could quite possibly be out of sheer Fox Fatigue of rational T.V. viewers. They need a channel diametrically opposed to Fox. If MSNBC wasn't around to counter the absurdities of Fox, the planets would soon fall out of alignment and life as we know it would soon come to a screeching halt.

It's really quite simple. Americans don't like news; they like entertainment. If Americans truly liked news, they would watch more C-SPAN, listen to more NPR, and put the facts together for themselves. Instead, they apparently want some blond bimbo on screen giggling about watercooler rumors, old guys preaching about how much they miss the pre-Reconstruction South, pundits that consistently shut off the microphones of "guests" that disagree with their opinions, and fat-faced, rich snobs that will tell you everything you want to hear to ease "consumer anxiety."

Just listen to how they constantly downplay the malfeasance of this administration.
