Obama Reports 2007 Income: Made $4.2 Million In 2007

Democratic Sen. Barack Obama reported $4.2 million in income in 2007. The presidential candidate released his tax returns on Wednesday. He said his adjusted gross income was around $4.2 million, with $4 million coming from the profits on his two books -- "Dreams From My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope." His Senate salary is $260,735.

Obama paid federal taxes of $1.4 million. Charitable contributions were $240,370.

The campaign released the returns just hours before a candidate debate.

Obama may be a rich man, but he made about $105 Million less than the Clintons did. The Clinton's unveiled their tax returns on April 4th.

Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign has released her 2000-2006 joint tax returns, showing $109.2 million in income over the last seven years.

In 2000, when the Clintons last made their returns public, they reported an adjusted gross income of $416,039. Since then, Bill Clinton alone has made $82 million from just his speech income ($51.85 million) and payments (totaling $29.6 million) from his two books -- "My Life " and "Giving."

amount of money so early in their careers. I like Obama and will support him if he is the democratic candidate. However, There is something strange revealed by Obama's tax returns in that he is being paid huge amounts of money by Crown Books. Crown family is one of the most affluent families in Chicago, and in addition to Crown Books, the family made billions in the military industrial complex, namely General Dynamics, makers of war machines.

So have the Clintons, and it's mostly Bill who earned the lion's share of the 100 million anyway. A really fair comparison should be between Michelle and Barrack's combined income if you are to try and make any comparisons.

I just don't get it. Who CARES!!!!!! I do not care how much money they made. I am happy that Obama was able to increase his income through his own hard work, but what does that have to do with squat.
