A House committee Thursday asked former White House political adviser Karl Rove to testify about allegations that Bush administration officials pushed for federal prosecutions of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman and other Democrats.

House Judiciary Committee leaders said it is "imperative" that Rove answer allegations that he pressed the Justice Department to investigate Siegelman, a Democrat who when indicted was preparing a rematch against Alabama's Republican governor in 2006.

Don"t be naive. The Presidential Pardon was written in 2000 and will be signed when needed.

Bush can't pardon anyone once he is out of office, and this crime will still be a crime then. I'd also indict the other players in Alabama the day after Bush leaves office and see if they can be made to throw Rove under the bus.

You don't ask the bastard, you put him in chains and drag him down to Congress, waterboard him a few minutes and then listen to him squeal!!!!

Investigate him but, unless the goal is to implicate the President in this as well to facilitate impeachment (which we know won't happen), don't indict Rove until after Bush leaves office so there is no chance for a pardon.

This is another case of YOUR Liberal press playing you for fools. They will get you all worked up in a lather when there is zero, nada, evidence of any wrong doing.

Think about it moonbats, they have done this to you so many times in the last few years......will you learn...NO....your like Charlie Brown and Lucie with the football.

Your press puts out a "what if, maybe, we sure hope" story with no facts and you gobble it up over and over.

I will be laughing at you moonbats again for getting snookered ......naive Liberals.

His lawyer had said that he would probably be happy to testify, since he has nothing to hide, and now his Lawyer is saying that he won't testify. If he had "nothing to hide", why not just man up and testify, to clear any speculation?

No evidence of wrongding? Oh, you mean like say for instance, Scooter Libby, convicted and pardoned by Bus(tupid)h.

Tator Tot, tell us how you benefit from the GOP tax breaks for the ultra-rich. Tell us how your GOP policies resulting in astronomical gasoline prices benefit you. Tell us how multi-billion dollar tax breaks, and multi-billion dollar grants, for the oil industry benefit you. Tell us how this war in Iraq benefits you. Tell us why you"re a staunch GOP supporter, but you aren"t serving in Iraq. Tell us how the endless corruption and openly criminal activity of the Bush Administration benefit you. Tell us again, how Karl Rove knows more than all those silly scientists who think global warming is a problem.

Siegelman is a correctly convicted felon. So the idea is Siegelman's jury was somehow tricked into finding him guilty. Let the criminal rot in prison. He can and will appeal his conviction.

The Bible will probably burst into flames when Rove puts his hand on it.

Did anyone see Dan Abrams talking about the five page angry letter that Karl Rove wrote to him? He said that he is going to read parts of it in his upcoming shows.

Rove would do best to come forth now and testify. If he chooses to push back and stall the Congressional review, he will only end up delaying the testimony. Once a new president is in power, Rove will not have a buddy in his corner.

The Republicans in congress will blame GW and Co. for the political loses in the fall and probably won't be willing to jump in front of the bullet for Rove. Additionally, GW won't be in office to offer a pardon, etc. GW's exit from office also will mean Rove won't be able to argue executive privilege since the future president probably won't support such an argument at the time.

Rove should testify now. If he does not do it now, he will be compelled to do it later on down the road.

Perhaps some day, the headline will read "Siegelman Asked to Testify during Rove Prosecution."
If the evidence supports it, then it needs to be done. Unfortuneately, this obstructionist White House will delay justice as long as it can.

Will Rove talk ? Do not think so as he would have to tell on himself and he might get into a whole lot of chicken poop. The fith is all I hear him say. He has avoided worse before and he will avoid this now however he has to to keep his own ass off the fire.
