Reuters via Yahoo:

Footage of John Lennon smoking pot, writing songs and discussing putting the hallucinogenic drug LSD in President Richard Nixon's tea is the focus of a court case starting in Boston next week over whether the video should be made public.

The case pits Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, against Lawrence, Massachusetts-based World Wide Video, which claims ownership of nine hours of raw footage of the former Beatle and Ono that was filmed just weeks before the "Fab Four" broke up in 1970.

World Wide, a New England consortium of Beatles collectors, wants to release the black-and-white footage as a two-hour film titled "3 days in the life" about Lennon during a pivotal and turbulent time for the most celebrated band of the 1960s.

Rolling Stone magazine dubs it "awesome John Lennon footage you might never see."

John Lennon did drugs? He smoked pot? Are you serious? You mean to tell me that Strawberry Fields and Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds weren't composed while sober? I'm so disillusioned.

Yoko is one of those people who is so out there, so totally bizarre, you have to like her. I mean, i think she is totally full of herself, but just so creepy, so......strange, she is the kind of person you would see wanting to make a film about a toilet. To us its a crapper, but to her, it would be art. Sort of a perfect example of how she sees everything. We see the emporers' new clothes, she sees the man in an armani suit, out there.

Her "Saint Yoko" attitude is so tiresome, as if she and John never polluted their artistic bodies with drugs. Please! For a time they were into heroin ... so what's the deal about smoking a doobie?

Yoko Ono & Her Lawyers seem to have nothing better to do in her life than dictate, control, and suppress the truth about John Lennon's life. If he was still alive he'd have kicked her ass to the curb decades ago.

Wow - when did Yoko Ooa get so very old that she is frightened of the past? This video shows John Lennon as he was. She loved him then, as he was, why is that so hard to face now? John loved to turn conventions on their head.
