To Sharohn and Jennmce: Would you rather he didn't pledge money to fight hunger, and to combat AIDS and malaria? Cm'on, give the devil his due.

He can pledge all he wants, "Mission Accomplished". Look what a great job they did handing out money to Haliburton in New Orleans. I wonder how they are setting up their take in the world hunger arena.

I'm not sure why this surprises anyone. The only question I have is, what the HECK are those 28% who still approve of Bush's performance smoking?

Never have quite understood how any two-term President can be judged to be more unpopular than any single-term President who lost his re-election bid; Jimmmmmmy comes to mind for some strange reason as he carried a whopping 6 states in losing his futile attempt at re-election. I don't know how he carried six.

And then of course we have LBJ who may be the only sitting President in history who did not even attempt a second term. Riots, vandalism & the burning of homes & businesses celebrated his first & only term.

But, then again, CNN is the "source."

You are right. All JIMMMMY had to do was go to war with Iran. Had all the hostages murdered. Killed thousands of Americans, tens of thousands of Iranians. And he could have gone down in history as a GREAT president.

Why didn't he think of that?

As far as LBJ. Read some history. Quit listening to Rush and Hannity. You might just learn something.

"Read some history?"

Hell, I was alive & well during LBJ's reality show, not the revised one that you libs concoct.

Seems strange to me that current "historians" (sic) never mention the fact trhat the worst racial riots in our country's history occurred during the end of LBJ' only term; must be an oversight.

Tell me again about Watergate.

"LBJ...may be the only sitting President in history who did not even attempt a second term"

James K. Polk, Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, Rutherford B. Hayes, Calvin Coolidge, and Harry Truman were all elected to only one term, and chose not to run for re-election.

Not in Africa, where he has done more humanitarian good than the presidents who preceded him. Truly a man of the people, sensitive, and caring. OK, so we stole the election from fat Al, it was for your own good.

Praise for President "No Condom Left Behind" from a two-dimensional thinker.

Don't you wish for just a moment that your leader had the same sentiments for HIS people, and I presume YOUR people? And if you write that he does, then I'll know you're an unedumacated idiot (as if I didn't know that already).

I say, F*CK Africa (no offense to the good Africans). How about taking care of AMERICANS?

Leaving Bush to history as one of our most unpopular presidents does not satisfy the place he so justly and rightly deserves. Mr. Bush's record seriously points to one of high crimes and misdemeanors to be constitutionally remedied by impeachment and removal from office. The list of such crimes and misdemeanors is legion, but his flaunting of congressional oversight and disregarding of judicial rulings should be enough to get an impeachment investigation underway. A reading of the NYTimes editorial of today lamenting the criminality of the Bush presidency was frustrating in that no cure was offered, other than waiting for the next president and congress to undo all the ways Bush has twisted or evaded the law. A horrifying example was the testimony of our former chief prosecutor at Guantanamo that orders were given for "no acquittals" of prisoners at tribunals, and reminders that timing of charges could have political value. Bush has assumed the right to lock anyone up for life without appeal if he declared him as an illegal enemy combatant. Even if removed from from office on Bush's very last day, it would serve the constitution and serve notice on future outlaw presidents.

Bush is the worst president we have ever had , hands down. He should have been impeached along with Cheney years ago. but for the lack of balls in the house and senate he would not have had the chance to carry out his missmanaged war . Impeach them now!

Not lack of balls. Lack of votes.

Why should anyone be surprised at a poll like this? Bush has done absolutely nothing positive for this country. He has wrecked havoc to everything that the US stands for. He will always be remembered as the dimwitted president who thought that God spoke to him.

Okay, I can understand the richest 1% saying they approve of Bush, but what's up with the other 28%?

Anyone who still thinks this guy is doing a heckuva job can't smell the pile of BS in the rose garden.

Our household is in that richest 1% and I'm a life-long progressive and actively campaign for Obama. (The top 1% is not that exclusive during this Second Gilded Age, especially for us city folk; look at some income demos. You probably mean more like the top 0.1%, which is far, far wealthier.)

Yeah, a lot of wealthy people vote Republican, but a country that can't afford to keep it's citizens healthy and educated doesn't help anyone.

The current state of the partisan landscape is a lot less about class than it is about tribalism. Remember, the Republicans really don't have any platform outside of tax cuts and deregulation for any and all problems, with a big dash of religious lunacy thrown in for spice.

And that's about it...

Imagine how unpopular BushCo would be if the MSM started doing their job?

The MIC looked at why their hopes of a long war in SE Asia was cut short to

only a dozen years and bought both the MSM, outright and Congress through

K Street. Their big mistake this time was allowing GHWB to place his stupid

and shiftless son, Dumbya, in the Presidency, surrounded by the neocons.

Or when the Justice Department, Congress and the Courts get to doing their jobs?

It will take time for the Courts to get rid of the bogus claims of Executive Privilege. And hopefull the Obama Administration will immediately declassify all documents, especially Cheney's Energy Task Force records (which may explain why we invaded Iraq).

Everything the hasn't beeb shredded that is.

But there will be too much evidence to shred. I'm going to be loving it.

(P.S. If you live in the DC vicinity and need a business opportunity look into buying industrial strength paper shredders so you can lease them to the Federal Government sometime after the first week in November. I guarentee they will be leased for top dollar.)

If you put your trust in today's SCOTUS, you'll be very disappointed.

Not only should we investigate Scalia and others for the corruption

so prevalent in the GOP, we need to seriously consider SCOTUS13.

And what other perjoratives can you come up with?

Dumbest? Most corrupt? Most Mindless/ Most ready to tear up Constitution? Greatest threat to liberty? Most likely to be condemned by Founding Fathers?

Or the man who the Constitution was most written to defend against?

George W. Bush wins them all. Hands down.

Wthout a doubt WORST PRESIDENT EVER.

No one even comes close. Buchanan could be in the running. After all he presied over the breakup of the United States. But his were crimes of ommission. He was a terrible President for what he didn't do.

Bush is the worst for what he did do!!!

We were railraoded into war in our past. But say what you will about the Mexican/American War and the Spanish/ American War.

At least WE WON!

The worst crime any leader can committe is to lose a war. But to lose a war that wasn't necessary? And was the sole responsibilty of one man, one DECIDER?

Despicable.

What do you know? Based on the comments on Huffpo and other liberal sites, I thought HIllary Clinton was the most unpopular president in history.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:25 AM on 05/02/2008

And what if I was?

The point is that these polls are meaningless.

Conduct a man on the street poll of of 1008 people of voting age and ask 2 questions:

Are you on the do not call list?

If yes, have you even been polled?

The answer will be 99.9% no. Why? Just because polling companies can call people on the list, doesn't mean they do. As a matter of fact, most people claim to have never been called, and don't know anyone who has. CNN is TO TALLY in the tank for Democrats, and use stories like these to invent news to fill the 24/7 need for content. It's total BS.

The fact remains that these 1008 people are idiots using a dial up and not on the do not call list... they are a severe minority, and do not represent the thinking population.

Period.

Who the hell needs a poll to see that this president has been nothing but poison for this nation. He, his administration and party have completely failed this nation no one needs the corporate media to point that out. Millions of jobs lost, people are losing their homes left and right, the dollar is tanking, we have pored how many hundreds of billions of dollars into Iraq and for what, the country is falling apart, our education system continues to lag behind, health care cost are through the roof, less and less people have health insurance, companies have been allowed to renege on peoples pensions, Medicare is all but bust, who knows if there is really a dime in left in social security, no one knows if there is still an oil reserve, and every word that seeps out of these slime balls mouths is a lie. We don't need polls to tell us how lousy this guy is we need real investigative reporting to find out just how much damage has truly been done to this nation. Unfortunately the news is the property of the puppet masters of this wooden headed fraud. The last investigative journalism they did was to find out just how many fat women Clinton waved his pecker at. Oh and to chase a nutty preacher around and report all the un-American things he said, mean while Bush and his gang of highwaymen are cleaning out every coffer they can get into.
