Okay, the first week, it's chocolate cake.

The second week, it's lemon merangue pie! Yummy!

Third week, you lucky rascals, YOU get pound cake!

All that CAKE to eat! Aren't you happy now?

What? Marie? No, my name's NOT Marie, and why do you insist on calling me "mademoiselle?" And by the way, what DO you use that thing over there for? It looks like a very strange meat-cleaver... Oh really, life in the real world is SO confusing ... now, what shall I do ... oh yes! Croquet! Wouldn't you like to play a nice game of croquet? Butler, bring everyone some more nice Cake!

Stimulus package my butt! The only thing I'm going to do with it is pay some looming bills.

Nancy Paloser standing next to that giant check reminds me of Bush in front of the "Mission Accomplished" banner. Nancy thinks it will buy her 2 more years, and it probably will, but that's all it does. "Recovery Rebate", how misleading.

The only thing I want to do with my check is slap Nancy Pelosi in the face with it....useless idiot.

However, in light of Barack O, I will donate some of it towards my hope for his presidency.....that may be the best return on my investment.

WooHoo....I get mine a few days before my birthday.
Can I rent a scary Republican clown for my party with the $600?

John Wayne Gacey isn't available anymore.

Just tell Repubs you have DC Madaam's list - that should give you a very scary birthday.

Oh, it just figures...I'm last on the list and by the time I get mine all the good stuff will be all bought up..../s

I'm at the end too. And, considering the ever increasing rate of inflation, my $600 won't even be worth $600 by the time I get it!

Yeah, I'm right there with you.

Although I'm grateful to be receiving a pittance from the federal government, I fail to see how they can think this is going to fix anything with the economy. I, and so many others, am being hit at the pump, the grocery store, the bank, etc. I've yet to meet anyone who, being buried in debt, will take this money to the nearest frivolous shop. Just think how much better it would be if the federal government could simply return our jobs to us, tax the corporations who are getting off without paying a cent, and bring back al the money that's been sunk into trenches in Iraq, just to name a few. The federal government is so good to give us a little of what's left before they send the rest of it to China and the Middle East.

Actually, this is all borrowed money. Your future tax payments will pay the interest on that.
But all other ideas are spot on!

Would someone please 'splain this to me? Every single media outlet has said the rebate checks are for $600, $1,200 for joint. Yet, according to the IRS calculator, I'm only getting $300. I tried screwing with it too, by using different amounts for the AGI. Always told me $300. Why am I getting half what's promised?

You only get $600 if you paid at least $600 in taxes. If you had $0 tax liability, you will only get $300 unless you have kids.

I paid way more than $600 in taxes. Single, no spawn.

I bet a huge portion of this 'stimulus" will go to the utility companies. The cost of heating and illuminating your home these days certainly makes a big dent in take home pay. Guess most of anything we get goes right back into Unka Dick's deep pockets.

Stupid.

As Americans receive this borrowed money, they need to think about the MORONS in our national government (Dems and Repubbies). You know, the ones who think Wall Streeters who earn hundreds of MILLIONS of dollars, if not BILLIONS, should be taxed at the 15 percent bracket. And, then, there is the HUGE scam of farm subsidies. We are given to believe that farm subsidies help the "small, family farm". What a scam........farm subsidies benefit wealthy landowners and big corporations, not small farmers. Yet, this scam continues. Fully 90 percent of the incumbents in the US Congress not only need to be voted OUT, they need to be run OUT of this country.

This amazing transfer of welfare from individuals to the corporate sector has now criss-crossed with Bu$h principles. Who'd a thunk?

So, if I buy a set of snow tires I end up bailing out this crappy economy? What a great country!!!!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:20 AM on 05/03/2008

That's funny, I am actually going to buy a set of tires with my rebate money. I have been putting them off for years, but with a baby coming it's a safety necessity.
