Politico:

Obama counsel Bob Bauer, on his always-punchy personal blog, considers the newest appointments to the FEC and writes that the regulatory body is being put back together to exclude a Republican commissioner who had taken a critical stance toward McCain's attempt to thread the needle on public financing.

In this one move, the White House ended McCain's accountability for his use or abuse of the primary public financing system while putting him in position to take money for the general.

We're really not worried about John McCain in the fall. Here's why, he's such an easy target to get swiftboated. If the repugs decide to play the Wright Ayers card, we will release the entire payload on John McCain.
We act as if the republican party are the only ones with the capability to swiftboat our opponents. We have well funded organizations that will turn McCain into an pantsy enemy collaborator (aka his vietnam days) in the fall. We also have the dirt on his drug addicted stepford wife. And oh get this, by the time we regurgitate how he abandoned his crippled wheelchair confined first wife, who stood by him b/w thick and thin for the shiny flashy rich lady he's walking around with as a trophy wife, there will be no woman on earth willing to vote for him. We don't even have to bring back his black love child given to us by George bush. Conservative will drop him like a bad habit....

This is even before we get into the policy issues. We just have to take the soundbites the DNC has been running both on the war and the economy a couple of notches up. Then the final indictment will be the picture of the oneness hug b/w GW and McCain. By the time we're done John McCain and George bush will be one and the same. If the republicans want to play dirty, in the words of George bush, bring it on

The Bush administration has much more riding on this election than one can imagine. More so because Obama unlike Hillary has stated on the record that he will encourage an investigation into the conduct of the administration and now that he is the undisputed front runner Bush needs to secure his flank. So expect all the dirty tricks one can imagine in the months leading up to the election.

Won't the next 8 years be fun with Attorney General John Edwards at the helm of all kinds of prosecution of Bush Administration crooks? I feel guilty how good this makes me feel.

I'm sure there are far better, more qualified lawyers available for the job of Attorney General than John Edwards. He was a plaintiff lawyer. The job requires an experienced prosecutor with a sound background in Constitutional law. Besides, Edwards wimped out in the end by refusing to do the right thing by endorsing Obama when it might have helped. It's too late for him to submit his resume at this point.

That's no lie.. In fact there are a number of considerate legal scholars trying to figure out how to bring Rico charges against certain operatives within the White House - such as Karl Rove. While he sits smugly in the arms of Murdoch at FOX News... he may very well not only be facing obstruction of justice charges soon but in fact, charges on RICO for the equivalent of racketeering.

We're doing an article on it soon.

"A late-night court filing by the White House on
Monday revealed that official administration emails about the run up to the
invasion of Iraq and the initial occupation may never be recovered."
Why aren't we hearing about this on HuffPost???

Hillary and her pals in the media and the right wing have made sure all we can talk about is Rev. Wright and the phantom gas tax holiday.

Hillary does not want to talk about the war. The neocons do not want to talk about the war. It is her Achilles heel.

I had hoped Clinton would drop out so she would not dominate the news any more with her fake issues.

We have our nominee. It is time to talk about the problems facing America, starting with the war which would be #1 over the economy if Americans were more decent.

This is only fitting that John McCain ... one of the Keating 5 in the other big banking scandal, with a campaign co-chaired by Phil Gramm, architect of the current banking scandal, should have POTUS step in by removing an obstacle to further McCain's subversion of policies regarding money.

We have written a number of articles about Rev. Hagee's and the Extreme Right's choice for Furor. That is to say - Tin Foil Hat Maverick - or my favorite - Senator " Loop Hole" John McCain, "its all about the Veterinarians ... well it must be ... 'cause Veterans certainly are not on his radar - only in his speeches.

They don't even have to do much negative campaigning against the dems if they are allowed to keep Diebold in the game. They will just steal the election at the voting machines. How the hell can republican Bush cronies be allowed to use these machines with the only people allowd to oversee them is their own employees. There is no paper trail.
On Newshour, last year, there was coverage of a group of academics doing studies proving that the systems could be hacked. This is my main concern going into November.
I believe the Sec. of State in California is doing a revamp of the process in her state, but what about Jeb's FLA, and the rest of the states.
What can we do help prevent another stolen election?

Who knew The Police got it right in 1981? From "Spirits In The Material World":

There is no political solution
To our troubled evolution
Have no faith in Constitution...

Our so-called leaders speak
With words they try to jail you
They subjugate the meek
But it's the rhetoric of failure

The FEC is actually down 4 out of its 6 commissioners due to partisan bickering (both sides) that is holding up appointments. The minimum number of commissioner needed to make any ruling is 4.

McCain must be a complete idiot to let Bush involve him even further in the Bush Criminal enterprise. It isn't 'just politics'. It is illegal. When the Bush crowd ends up tried for war crimes and treason, McCain will now be implicated directly.

The politicians WILL learn that elections in a democracy are different that appointments in a dictatorship.

In a Democracy, politicians represent the best interests of ALL the people, not themselves. This is turning into a damn banana republic and it stops here.

The sad part is, most--if not all--of the criminality will be discovered after the fact. The media won't report it, since it would show that they were way of their game, and blind and stupid. Besides, by the time they figured it out, it wouldn't matter anymore.

Maybe in some third-world dictatorship or a junta-controlled country--oh, we ARE a third world dictatorship, a junta-controlled nation run by the Bushie clan.

See Jason Linkins blog today for the real reason the media isn't reporting things. The media is too wrapped up in its own ego and is busy demanding that candidates give them the story lines they want and need to boost their ratings. Seriously. That's what he says.

MSNBC just did a story about McCain and Hagee, this is now making it's way to the MSM. More to come I'm sure, they haven't even mentioned Rod Parsley yet...
