Mischa Barton says someone has been retouching her thighs.

The fetching starlet is doubly horrified by a new batch of paparazzi beach shots - because they show not only her breasts, but legs that appear to be riddled with cellulite.

"Those photos are doctored," Barton's rep, Lisa Perkins, tells us. "I'm not saying she's perfect, nobody is. But they've given a 22-year-old woman the legs and bottom of an 80-year-old."

"Look at the shots that were taken shortly before on a beach in L.A. Did she develop all that cellulite in a couple of weeks? There's a lot you can do with Photoshopping." ...

Barton's publicist contends that Aussie photographer Jamie Fawcett - whom she calls a "parasite" - is out to make the former "O.C." star look bad because "she called him out for taking the topless shots."

Fawcett argues, "I wouldn't seek to publicly embarrass her with nudity or health issues or body image issues.

That's pretty low, even for a paparazzi. Of course a unflattering photo will bring in more bucks than a flattering one, so I could believe some slime would photoshop the bumps on.

Fair enough- let's see some undoctored ones.

I would just love to see someone follow all these vulcher paparatzee jerks around and take pictures of them in their bathing suits then print those photos so the whole world can see all of their flaws! This is so stupid - no one is perfect. What is wrong with people?

can we take this off the front page now, please? this photo has been up there for several days now and if it is, indeed, her then so what? does it really warrant so much attention? i wouldn't be surprised if she ends up anorexic, bulimic or just even insecure now after this sort of publicity . . .

I know it's really disgusting... they should remove this off.

She is really pretty. I don't believe she has that type of cellulite at her age. Its obvious the media photoshoped that.

Its just amazing what they will do to sell newspapers and make fun of people when she hasn't done anything to them.

HuffPo, this is NOT NEWS - leave the poor girl alone. Articles like this really turn me off from your site, and I've been singing your praises. This is something TMZ or Fox News would put on their websites.

I'm very disappointed in you. But I forgive you. Now let's go get some ice cream

I know Adobe PhotoShop and trust me if you are skilled at that program you can doing amazing alterations on photos that boggle the mind.... even if there are little cross bars or lines... you blow the photo up to get the pixels and can make changes so small the human eye cannot detect in a webphoto or National Enquirer photo.... which is where I saw her photo along with about 20 other famous celebrity women.

Granted, younger women today have a lot more cellulite than when I was in my 20s 40 years ago... we ate far less adulterated junk food back then. It is somewhat genetic, but also diet and exercise related.
I also know that women have angst over cellulite and some men make fun of it, but a majority of all men would still want to date and sleep with just about any woman, no matter what her legs looked like or body look like.

esp. w/ cs3 you can slim down someone and make them larger too. With cs3 you can align individual pixels so you can do a lot of creative processing.
If you could see the data from the cameras shot you could see what PP they used too.

She is going to have to prove it to me, I can be reached at.......

I got rid of cellulite in the same places by using an exercise bike 60 minutes a day. It really does work. And you have to drink a ton of spring water every day, too.

If she was lying down before this, the marks on the backs of her legs are probably from the texture of the cushions on her lawn chair.

That happens to me all the time - you lie on something, and when you get up, you're covered in dimples, puckers, or whatever the cushions look like.

No wonder she thinks it's doctored. I bet her legs just don't look like that usually.

When your backside and bare upper thighs are photographed in the bright sunlight, any imperfection will be shown. It's like taking a spotlight to the imperfections, revealing veins, stretch marks and cellulite.
The Enquirer once showed close-up photos of Clint Eastwood sunbathing and he had more varicose veins than any woman I've ever seen.

Cottage cheese? I'm hungry...

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:42 PM on 05/09/2008

Yup, it's easy to doctor up some photos. However, exlax dehydrates which in return gives you cottage cheese legs. It's genetic to get them but not when you are that skinny and young. I'd seen Tyra Banks and OMG, her calves are smaller than my forearms and I can wrap my thumb and index finger around and SHE has huge cottage cheese legs. We ran into her at Downtown Disney with her mom.

It looks real to me.

It would be extremely hard to doctor those photos -- considering the fence on the balcony in the foreground and the distance from which they were shot. Any photoshop pros around here want to weigh in?

Mischa has always been larger than your average starlet. And as for not posting this -- it seems like an important place to begin the dialogue on the outrageous "demands" popular culture puts on the female body, and the girls who are victims of it, i.e. Mischa and every other young woman who has a career based on her looks.

As part of the cheapening of HuffPo this article is right on target.
Arianna's shiny lipstick which she wore on TV last week was pretty cheap looking too.

I don't have a problem with the cellulite picture at all. But then I am not 22 years old. Cellulite is a fact of life. Even thin older women have it. So what.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:17 PM on 05/09/2008

well, if she doesn't have it now... she will soon enough.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:28 PM on 05/09/2008

Why is this girl relevant? She was in one TV show that was canceled years ago and she hasn't worked since.

That said, people have no control over cellulite; it's genetic.

They are likely doctored BUT I want to tella y'all something. A few years ago, I was teaching a summer class to college undergrads and this young, tall, thin girl used to wear miniskirts. I remember being shocked at how much cellulite she had -- more than me and I was in my 30s. I think there might be something to a rise in this problem for young women caused by garbage in the food we eat. I've noticed that since I began reducing the sugar in my diet and begun chelation therapy (supposed to remove toxic metals like mercury) my cellulite is less noticeable. And I began noticing it in my 20s for sure.

So I'm saying she probably has some, even if not this much.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:33 PM on 05/09/2008

what are you doing checking young girls in miniskirts. . . perv.

I'm not blind, ya know. When female students sit in skirts short enough to see their underwear or tall guys sit in the front row with shorts on, I notice.

It's actually the guys' legs that usually distract me, though.

You think I'm a robot?

Sadly, once again, my angry, petty, vengeful gay brothers in the fashion and beauty industries have succeeded in fooling the straight males who own the media into believing that women with natural, Goddess-given curves are only attractive if they have the bodies of tall, skinny, flat-chested teenaged boys.

To them I say, "Let go of your anger and let women have cellulite!"

To those who won't let gay men serve in other, less stereotypical, occupations, I say, "Let go of your homophobia and be fabulous!"

The obvious solution to the debate is to appoint a commission (or me) to investigate the matter first-hand. Or both.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:01 PM on 05/09/2008

Its obvious that a congressional investigation must be conducted so that the real truth may be known regarding ms. barton's cellulite.

have better luck getting an investigation if the Committee investigated chubby Pages or skinny hookers . . .

THE GODDESS CELLULA

Unknown to almost all, cellulite was a hallmark of great beauty admired by the ancient Romans and other antiquarian cultures. Cellula was a goddess worshipped by many. Michelangelo soon realized that depicting cellulite in his sculptures and paintings was just impossible; he could not capture the beauty of (I don"t remember the Latin words) "little mounds and craters on the moon" and soon followed the examples of other artists who all seemed to agree that awesomely beautiful cellulite was too difficult to capture by brush or chisel. They settled on the convention we know of today: smooth skin means beautiful skin.

The next time you visit London, try to arrange for a special tour of the lower basement of the British Museum which has on display art from ancient Rome and Greece which attempted to capture the beauty of cellulite-but failed. All hail Cellula!

No class.

Ariana has no right to complain about whats wrong with the news media when she participates in this loathesome tabloid exploitation.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:23 AM on 05/09/2008

Does Arianna actually post all this stuff or does this site merely bear her name? I don't think she is a webmaster, but I could be wrong.

This is important because young girls are brainwashed into thinking that if you are not like these "Hollywood" types that you are ugly and therefore these poor young girls starve themselves to look like these spray painted dolls. That my friends are real pictures, and hey I went to school in middle school and girls already had to things going on.

Well shit might as well comment - lay off the fish 'n' chips. Her rep is little help either for in effect she is saying Ms Barton has an eighty year-old ass (and I've seen a scoopful)...

(Now where was I originally headed?)
