ABC News' Karen Travers Reports: For the first time this campaign season, Barack Obama has surpassed Hillary Clinton's support among superdelegates, according to the ABC News delegate estimate.

Sen. Obama, D-Ill., picked up two superdelegates this morning giving him a new metric to tout in addition to his current commanding leads in pledged delegates, popular votes, states won, and money raised.

Where are Biden and Carper? Does Biden really like Hillary?

Delaware, State that Obama carried, not one single Super Delegate has endorsed him yet.

Meanwhile, Hillary is getting benefit of being a Home Town Girl in at least 3 States - New York and Arkansas (where 100% of Super Delegates who have comitted and most have, have endorsed her). The third is Pennsylvania where she played the Scranton card and is now pressure PA Supers.

Ridiculous.

the way he looks on this picture, he either takes antidepressants or something else. He always has this look when he is doing photo ops...like you want to shake him and tell him to wake up.

Senator Obama has come a long way. No one could have predicted this outcome least of all the Clinton Machine. Our country is hurting in a way it never has before and change is important to those of use who need something different than the status quo of the past 8 years. If we keep recycling the same people, and their family members, we apparently get the same outcome. I believe that Obama is where he is because we "are sick and tired of being sick and tired."

It is really too bad and too sad that a nation that works has worked hard and achieved a measure of success in getting beyond race, finds that it really has not gotten very far when the rubber meets the road. There remains a segment of our society that is stuck on ignorant and a segment who will play on it for all that it is worth.

I am so happy that Obama is pulling away from Hillary. Who wants Bill roaming the Whitehouse halls again. Maybe there was some evidence that he needs to get to in the oval office. I don't know. All I know is the country will be happier and more prosperous when we move on beyond the old politics, the Clintons. They need to become part of the history books of the 90's and that's all.

Obviously you are too young to remember the Clinton administration. Bill Clinton left office with an approval rating at 65%, the highest end of office rating of any President since World War II. That is nothing to sneeze at.

YOU'RE RIGHT, IT'S NOTHING TO SNEEZE AT, IT'S SOMETHING TO VOMIT AT!!! BILL CLINTON DISGRACED OUR WHITE HOUSE. HE IS A MAN WHORE!!! BILL CLINTON WAS THE LEADER OF OUR COUNTRY! IF A FATHER IS PROVIDING ECONOMICALLY FOR HIS FAMILY BUT CHEATING ON HIS WIFE WITH SITTER OR HOUSEKEEPER UNDER THE WIFES NOSE IN HER HOME HUMILIATING HIS WIFE AND KIDS, WOULD YOU APPROVE??? IT'S THE SAME THING. CLINTON MAY HAVE PROVIDED FOR SOME OF US BUT WAS A POOR LEADER AND EXAMPLE. THE 65% MUST COME FROM PEOPLE LIKE HIM.

So....Does this make Hillary the presumptive loser? I'm so proud of Obama, his vision and message that even though my bearings are squeaking and seals leaking, blown muffler and all, I am having a surge of patriotism. (or a hot flash) God Bless America.

Don't bailout the Clintons, they have a $109 friggin' million to loan to themselves for that!!!

If the Obama campaign is dumb enough to bail out the Clintons, I want ALL MY DONATION MONEY REFUNDED IMMEDIATELY! If I wanted to donate to the Clintons, I would have gone to her website and done so. I'm sure this applies to every who gave to Obama.

I don't think campaign rules allow him to pay her debts. I think the most he could do after the election is to help her with fundraisers by showing up at the event.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:45 PM on 05/09/2008

You are correct, Obama cannot use his contributions to help her but can do fundraising ect.

They have nothing like 109mil

They paid 36mil taxes on that.

And they gave some of it to charity. Admittedly, their own charity, but charity starts at home.

They are probably literally worth about 35 mil. Maybe 45mil.

Obama could promise to help bail her out if he is elected president. Otherwise, go suck an egg.

As a black woman who's father was a 20 year Air Force vet, I recognize that everyone chooses the way in which they will make their contributions to the USA. My dad loved this country with every fiber of his body and soul. I too love this country and the people in it and when I see the media, Hillary and some folks in this blog trying to separate "we Americans" by race at such an important time in our history, it truly leaves me sad and with a very heavy heart. We really are all part of the same family and the sooner we embrace this fact, the sooner the healing begins. Maybe some of those trying to separate us might take a few lessons on Love & reconcilitation from Nelson Mandela, Ex president of South Africa. After 27 years of being tortured and imprisoned for having the wrong politics, he was released and pleaded for everyone to forgive his captures and discard the hate in their hearts. When he became president, one of his goals was to facilitate healing. Are we so small minded as to have a campaign leave us with poison in our hearts? What will it take to make the most powerful country in the world realize that we will never regain that power unless we unite - not always agree - but we must unite.

Important post, hearttoheart. And when we look at the military serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and note what subcultures are over- and underrepresented, we had better be VERY careful not to exclude ANY ONE of them from the context of Americans.

LOL! That's funny!

But sierrarisings1, the way I understand it is, they aren't "new" SDs - they're just ones that MSNBC hadn't previously allocated in their total. So they were just "updating" her totals for accuracy. There are several discrepancies on different sites but the one that seems more updated and more accurate is the one on Dailykos.

Hope that answers your question ;o)

The time for Hillary to change her campaign has come. I believe she should keep running for as long as possible, as long as she is still in the race it is difficult for McCain to motivate his base.
But she needs to be running a campaign of ideas and ideals, she needs to stop tring to win and start telling people why she ran, keep healthcare at the fore of the race, make sure that the best of her policies and ideas are incorporated into the Obama campaign and really make a difference.
If however she is incapable of running a respectul, uplifting and unifying campaign then the time has come to step aside and try to salvage a little parting dignity.
This is a time to make a difference not to shop for a legacy.

Looks like the super-delegates are moving...

What a sad day. It's the equivalent of being carried off the stage after a lousy performance. One really wonders... did the Clintons not know any better? Is this really necessary?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:11 PM on 05/09/2008

I think Hillary has truly "lost her bearings" by staying in the race. If she had stepped out of the race after NC & IN, she would have less embarassment to face. She's losing superdelegates to Barack that she once had.....while she's campaigning! That's pitiful!!!
