"Sex and the City" had its world premiere Monday in London. Looking every inch Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica Parker stepped out in a Phillip Treacy hat and Alexander McQueen dress resembling a plant, complete with two butterflies. This hat moment was reminiscent of a scene from the hit show (scroll all the way down to watch video).

All four girls worked the red carpet together at the Odeon in Leicester Squar and intermittently stopped to sign autographs for the hordes of fans. Scroll down for more pictures of Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker.

I love the hat! So theatrical. So much fun. More!

77 comments on the hat. That's 77 more than there would be without it. PR people.

What a silly contraption. Just that little pillbox would have been cute.

Drag queen.

All the negative comments regarding her physical beauty is what is wrong with America today. We are into the artificial, plastic surgery "pretty". Any star who bucks the trend and stays natural is put down as "not pretty enough". These young girls hear comments like this and rush to the plastic surgeon as soon as they are old enough, so they can be "pretty" too. What is wrong with being who you are. After all, Streisand made a fortune off that nose.

Oh, and by the way, I like the hat--very whimsical. It suits her personality.

I can't believe how mean you people are. Shame on you. What gives any of you any credibility to determine someone's beauty? What makes you so much better? So what I sent the same thing to my grandmother for her birthday, and I doubt she put it on her head, but then who knows? Maybe she did. She still thinks she goes to work and is wondering where her paycheck is...

I haven't read any of these comments yet except yours. I just have to say, THE HAT IS HIDEOUS. Anything dealing with her per se...well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so why are you so incensed? Sites like these usually give people a chance to let it all hang out and it"s not always good. Hell it"s seldom good (pithy goes over big here). I guess you didn"t know that?

Are you really a test tube baby? Wow if you are. She's pretty, and the comments are just mean, and it makes me upset that people can be so hateful in this world. Scroll down and read them for yourself. As if they walk so tall and carry a big stick. They're on a crooked road walking a crooked mile.
She has a cute personality and she has style most of the time. Nobody's perfect.

Haha...no comment to that (but you are the first to ever ask).
Anyway, people are evil everywhere. Bullies, miscreants and a whole lot of unsavory characters visit sites like this one. They are mean, hateful and nasty. But there are just as many positive people here as well. So you have to roll with the punches because it sure It doesn't get any better. If you like her... hey, she knows she has a fan. *smile*

I want to tear into it and yet it takes some reeal ovum to wear that thing.

She's a very intelligent woman. So, as far as I'm concerned, she can do whatever she pleases -- as long as she does not support the occupation of Iraq or otherwise assists the big-money special interests that keep us from having a decent foreign policy, single-payer universal health care, and sensible economic policies.

Funny what you can get away with when you're rich and famous. I'd get arrested for wearing that thing.

Someone told her it was stunning (a stunning mess). When she walked out of the door they were rolling on the floor laughing like banshees. Hmmm... "The Emperor"s New Clothes".

Ugh, her face scares me. Sarah Jessica Parker has to be the ugliest celebrity in existence. I don't see how she ever got famous.

I respectfully disagree. I will not watch tina fey since they started airbrushing out her scars.

Ranks right up there with the shoe hat worn by Katharyn Helmond in the film Brazil. Google it folks.

Sarah Jessica is totally that girl in junior high school who's dad was the choir director and has been angling to be a star all her born days. Not blessed with true beauty this overachiever has beat out the competition through a combination of dogged determination, great makeup and manic self promotion.

The hat signals one thing. Desperation. An obsessive need to distinguish herself from her female co-stars as the Alpha female of the bunch.

The tabloids have been played. No better way to get coverage of your movie than to show up to be photographed in something outrageous. The classic of this genre is when Bjork wore that dead swan dress to the Oscars. You can't say the ploy didn't work!

True sex appeal comes from what's on the inside, not $10,000 dresses or goofy hats.

The hat is funny! And no big deal considering and her character on Sex and the City wears interesting outfits, some stylish and some outlandish.

I bet Londoners loved it. Hats are still IN there.

Watch that britcom 'Keeping Up Appearances' and you will see a wide selection of Hyacinth's 'tasteful' hats from a better postal code.

Horseface ought to have a bridle strapped to her head.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:42 AM on 05/13/2008

WTF?? Her face looks like a foot and she has some hideous vegetation strapped to it. Bad move. She should comb all her hair forward like Cousin IT. Hot body, but jeeeezus, her face could scare dogs off a meat truck.
Matthew Broderick has gotta be totally backdoor. Dang, she is fugly.

That looks like something out of Monty Python, but not in a good way.

What a goof.

She is not in the least bit pretty. Not a bit. She has a fit body that looks like it is made of wood, sanded to a perfect shape. Nothing appealing at all.

I dunno - looks like Sara Jessica upstaged all the other girls, and maybe not in a good way. It's fun, however, I kinda like the goofiness of it all. Her dress seems to me like a swirling green stem, and apart from the hat, I like it. And I like the hat as an object of art, but not necessarily taking root on Sara Jessica's head.

Kim looks a tad strained in that dress of hers, but she is working that neckline, for sure; Cynthia's looks elegant but out of step with the cocktail dresses of the other three; Kristin, while the dress is pretty, needed to plunge that neckline just a bit....and trim her hair too.

And the shoes? Uh - oh - are we in for some retro 40s open toed lines for summer/fall?

anastasiabeaverhousen (see below) had that pegged right away - "roll an andrews sister" - ROTFLMAO, girlfriend.
