New York Times:

After years of televising taped versions of "SportsCenter" in the mornings, ESPN announced Tuesday that the studio show would be live starting in August.

"We literally decided three or four months ago to do it when someone in a meeting brought it up," said John Skipper, ESPN's executive vice president for content. A live morning "SportsCenter" had never been produced, he said, "for no other reason than that we didn't think of it."

Sportcenter hasn't been good for years.

I believe the last time I watched Sportscenter was when I switched to it and they were interviewing Wesley Snipes.

Yep, that was the end of the line.

Is there any hope that ESPN will finally lessen the endless, 125 decibel, video montage crap that invades the show every 90 seconds? Frankly, I just go to espn.com now because SC is just a cacophony.
