TORONTO — Shania Twain and husband-producer Robert "Mutt" Lange are splitting up after 14 years of marriage. The 42-year-old Canadian country superstar and 59-year-old Lange married in 1993 and have a 6-year-old son named Eja. Her publicist provided no further details Thursday about the couple's breakup.

Lange and Twain, best known for her hits "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!" and "You're Still the One," recently opened a hiking trail on their property in New Zealand, fulfilling a pact designed to allay fears that wealthy foreigners were snapping up and sealing off the country's prime real estate.

Lange produced three of Twain's albums: 1995's "The Woman in Me," 1997's "Come on Over" and 2002's "Up!"

Even people who have everything in the world cant make it. Its amazing that people who have nothing can. Sorry to hear they are breaking up, espeically for their son, but you know, if she needs a place to stay for a while, my guest room is available.

Shania is not from Edmonton. She is from a reservation in central Ontario.

Too bad for their son, or maybe it's a good thing. I know I was happy when my folks finally split. Now, does anyone have any spare Energizers for each of their attorneys calculators?

I love Shania Twain's music, and I'm always sorry to see a divorce. Best wishes to both of them on this private matter.

"She has this weird aversion to singing consonants at the end of words. I found it annoying."

That because she's a total Edmonton-bred Canuck. You can tell that when she's interviewed.

Shania may have started out country, but she became a total pop princess with boy-toy undertones. Her fans aren't very sophisticated, either. Think of her as the female version of Kenny Chesney.

LOL!

She was born and raised in Timmins, Ontario. Long way from Edmonton.

After Mutt, she should look for a pedigree.

She could sing the phone book, I wouldn't mind.
Sigh.
Robert John "Mutt" Lange? Only one of the best rock n' roll producers ever. Think AC/DC and Def Leppard and a bunch more. A genius in the studio.
He helped make her a very rich lady.

Now who will manufacture her electronically ultra-processed signature voice?

Is she the one who sings "I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped up 409"?

no that's Carrie Underwood.

She was married to him when she was making the music. Her earlier attempts at breaking into the industry failed UNTIL she met Mutt. She originally was attempting to break into the pop market and he convinced her to go "country." Her first big song "Whose Bed have your Boots Been Under," came out AFTER they were married. Personally, I haven't missed her. She has this weird aversion to singing consonants at the end of words. I found it annoying.
